  1. Hi, im looking at a banshee that is a total baskit case, but has a few nicer parts pipes, carbs, tires.... The strange thing is the cylinders, its a one part jug like a cpi cub/serval/wampus, but it has 6 bolt dimond shape reed intakes, and a open large volume coolant flow like with a o ring head, 10 stud head What could this be, it dose look like it belongs with all the other parts like carbs/reeds .....
  2. I got derisi fox 3 long travel on my kfx450r and it rides like on a cloud, i will be doing the same on the banshee soon For the banshee i will have to do it more on a budget, but I dont think the elka link fits my laegers swing are either though
  3. Ok thanks guys good to know FAST is useing a direct lockup, i think i will call Jeff at FAST after all thats where i got my serval kit from, i already talked to mantoon on ebay but they only got oem black. Only got bare alloy in the machined covers or something like that
  4. Hey, i just got my my FAST shifter mods and clutch basket in my banshee, Now I just ordered a new chairiot super oversize water pump to replace my pro design unit. Was this a good idea to go with the bigger impeller, do i now need a metal WP gear now? Last question, Whats the bet brand of lock up side cover, FAST, lockup direct, or mantoon, Or another brand ?? Id like to get the lock up from the same vendor if possible. Thanks
  5. Ya if you look close enough, those fox shox are totally broken too! You can send them to me I could use them for parts, thanks
  6. Its cold all over, ever heard of alaska or nebraska or just admit your pussy ass ka Might ring a bell
  7. For real! a space heater for dune trip, bunch of pussy's We have new years day rides at -20, with no heat anywhere or trailers to run back to
  8. Who invented the banshee from yamaha was it a team idea or just one guy, i know its based off the 350cc rz from the late 70's... but is there anymore info out there ? It be kinda fun to know the full story, as yamaha is the only one left in the sport quad game.
  9. If you got the coin get the fox float evo gen 3 for the front, they are the top shock and multiple pounds lighter to boot. I was on custom axis only for many years witch was the best, till i tryed the fox setup no spring changes needed with three chambers of air to play with Either way the rear shock is what need the most work theres no easy solution to the short rear shock for mx, exept getting a lsr or laegers full 250r chassis
  10. Ahh your only connecting some of the dots like that... but also note the words ''entire season'' and that i got 6 different quads I can afford 2 dedicated mx quad setups, a small price to pay Only thing i gotta be a fool for, is trying to help the OP on here when mx pro riders like ddq already are helping so much
  11. ??? Now i remember, why i only check in on here ever so rarely
  12. Fair enough its not really worth arguing over such a small thing, everyone has a different setup, i can see why lots of people like them for mx, no worries there. There just not for me, the quality just is not there for me and the fit was never just right either, I was surprized after fighting the mounts for years with the PT's, then when i switched to the fmf they just fell right onto the mount and no longer leaked, im 150Ib and can really feel the added pull just about everywhere for sure. I ride mx tracks and woods/hillclimbs, the hill climbs is where the pt is a real dog unless your clutching like a mad man, We have unlimited terrain up here id be a fool if i just setup a bike for just running around a ORV park mx track my entire season . I got 2 dedicated mx quad setups, one mx/woods, two for hill climbs and one for bombing wide open, 5 of 6 are long travel f/r
  13. Why the JFC not, the PT mids I had where mint but where the worst quality and power ever, theres no way i would change my opinion on them. The pipe flanges never sealed to the cylinder, I had the the first gen with no o ring making it impossble to seal 100% always mad a mess. The alloy silencers are light but total junk and fall apart too. So ya that too
  14. Thats Liberal Engineering for you
  15. Bought time you updated this thread, looking really nice Coops03
  16. Both me and my bro ran the twin 28mm pwk carbs for a while, but ended up decideing on the 2-1 setup. it is way simpler to maintain and work on IMO I run a graydon intake with a 38mm pwk airstiker but for mx a 36mm air striker would be a better choice, the Chariot intake can be made to work but is not as good flow around the steep splitter and the jetting is less consistant. I agree pro ciruit pipes or FMF, they are better than the PT mids I was running anyway. PT mids are more of a wheely poping pipe with litte bottom and sign off early
  17. Ok sounds good on the top end and wrist pin, I have no idea about whats already been done on this Zilla units bottom end, as i bought it already 80% reastored it sure looks very nice and i feel i got a great deal on it that way, as my trx250r costed 3x as much just to build than i paid for the zilla. When once riding the pickup coil on the 30 year old original stator fell off and i had to tow it home, when i took it off to replace with a new unit, i noticed the crank was tight thank god! Also strangely there apeares to be three or four holes with very hard grey apoxy ozzed out near the crank bearing area, is this a normal thing from suzuki or is it mean the race or steel insert is pressed in (the crank has deff been removed and worked on at least once) Sorry for all the qestions, but the zillahq is extremely slow and i dont know anyone that can answer most of my questions at once, like you already did Thanks
  18. Thanks to you both, I will be sending the jug some ware soon, the engine is a early 88 with the 87 wide internal ratio trans gears, so far engine wise i just got a fmf and modifed the carb slide and 89 jetting, and a sblt no box intake with a giant 8" uni pod. Gusto any good places to rid other the brule dunes, are you going to trike fest this year?
  19. Zilla you got some good points there, if the add is updated we will try to add more detail, and get rid of the hype talk. That said dont really want to over do it as it can kinda scare race quad newbies away wit so much random specs. It will most likely take a very long time to sell up here as there is almost no one that is interested in sport quad anymore in our area, only sxs are getting more popular every day it seems. Also Zilla Do you have a q-zilla i have a nice one im working on. it looks mainly stock but has all the sblt mods, i love riding it around. Ya if you know a good place to send the jug let me know i want to get a bigger pipe soon. Thanks Gusto i see you are close by, you should come check it out some time!
  20. Hi I built both the ones shown in the add the black is more or less the same minus being with lonstar parts the yellow is leagers F/R, we do actully have the reipts for 75% of the parts other than the fast serval engine and pipes witch i got the same exact repits for 3500cdn. And sorry for some of the miss prints my bro inlaw wrote the add as i built this for him. Im not sure how you can judge it just bassed on the add where many parts are not included, also this is cdn dollars here thats ~75-80 usd dallars, shipping alone all the parts is very $$, but not even mentioned in the add The front shocks stage 3 with the upgrades are 2 or 3 way adjustable, The rear is a stage 4 fully adjustable. Some parts are not fully mentioned, It has has a new yamaha ignition on a cascade timing plate, led-bar/mounts from jds, JDS rotor/sprocket gards, durablue X-33 axle, bp intake, new sudco carb, uni filter, new complete seat, all the chssis parts stem/swinger/dc4 arms are LSR, hydro steering damper, every clamp or cap on the bars is billet, the bars are actully fat bars/lock on grips, terry adjustable billet throttle, asv gen4 perch, hidden jds key, the bedline on the fenders is the professional not some rattle can, the wheels are dwt not cheap alba units armadilla grab bar that was powder-coated like everything else is a semi gloss black. The engine was built by fast with all their in house parts bottom end also got inspected and any parts where need where replaced and re sealed. hinson clutch and a billet kicker too, lots of parts witch we im still forgetting to mention. The only complaints i have about it is the alba nef bars kinda suck, and we should have got the elka link to work best with the shock as its a long travel shock they sent us some how but all still works great. But everything works quite nice wish i could keep it, but why would anyone want two of almost the exact same banshee's!
  21. heres a link, with pics and price. The price is in cdn dollar https://classifieds.castanet.net/details/421_banshee/3485536/
  22. Will do asap thanks for the help guys
  23. I dont really wana add to much rotating weight for mx/woods type rideing, but might have to do that asap. I would have to go with a under cover unit as I already invested a bunch into my stock cover (powdercoat billet caps/water pump...) what is the best going under cover unit? For now i will also fab up a extender/thicker tap on the clutch arm.
  24. Just make sure you tell everyone your a engineer and you know everything better than them. Americans love that kinda stuff For real it works great!
  25. Hi im just finishing adding all the tranny mods on my 421 like pan bearing, shift star, roller tip.... I am stuck looking at and working with the stock thin actuator arm. With stiffer springs I bent it in the past. Do they make a better steel, or billet arm (maybe even a longer one for a eazier pull) alread got a asv lever... I got a new factory shaft/arm but is very flimzy at best compared to the clutch arms on other atv's i ride. Thanks
