K so I went to glamis last weekend and it ran perfect with the 30 pilots and 310 mains. So when I got home I dropped to 27.5 pilot and 270 mains. Needle is 2nd from the bottom so it's rich. Powerband and top end is great but idle to powerband sucks. Turning the air screws in helps the problem but since I'm 1 turn out and still have the problem and the needle is set so rich to begin with, don't you think I should bump it up to 30? I think I was close on my pilot before with the 30s, never had this problem. But Ill need to purl the the clip higher on the needles for sure

Got 270 280 and 290. Hopefully should be close

Need to get a better jet kit. I have the 27.5 and 30 pilot, and 310 320 330 and 350 mains. Just what it came with.
-
I'll do that asap. Thanks for the help dude. I'm running 30 pilot with 310 mains for sure, I looked up a post from when I was trying to figure it out. Can't remember the needle position off hand but air screw is like 2 out.

So it is in fact safe to run dominator at 50:1? I was always just told to run 32:1 to play it safe. So ill be even richer right? He's at the same altitude as me. And I've ridden the bike a lot and I've had it for about 11 months and the compression is still high. Is there a way to tell just by looking at the head or no? So if I go down to glamis I'll need to run race fuel or octane booster I'd assume. And if i did run dominator at 50:1 my jetting would be off further. Lot of factors.

Seems a little weird

That's fucking real good right

138 right side 139 left side. I'm real surprised cuz I ride it alol the time since I live in the middle of nowhere

Lot of good info rt there. I was using Yamalube but I've been using am soil dominator for a while. One uni air filter, no lid . V force 4 reeds pc platinum pipes, 304 silencers for now, stock head for now, other than that I'm just doing suspension rt now. He said it's bored but I don't believe him. Just bought a tachometer on ebay, looking for a synchronizer, and I'll make a leak down tester. Have a compression tester, idk if I have time before work today tho.

K I will. Just checked my plugs for the first time in a while and they're definitely oily.
-
Since I got it I haven't done a top end on it. So I'm gunna do that this weekend.. I have the stock pistons. Hoping he didn't bore it at all like he said he did. The guy said a lot of shit that I don't believe like only run race fuel and he bored it over and he used to race. But when I got it everything was stock except the pipes and he rode it like a bitch so I don't believe he races.

One time my fuel line popped off and I got the hollow buzzing noise. That's what led me to believe that the noise was caused by a lean condition and that's why I jetted fatter to get rid of it haha.probably masking a leak.
-
When I had smaller jets it was worse. The larger pilot and it didn't wanna start, but the 27.5 it would kinda lug till the powerband.
-
Oh I meant going up from sea lvl every 1000 ft so I should be around 290 up here? After I do a leak down I'll try it. I've got a foam air filter, no lid. Ya I'll definitelybe checking plugs n stuff. Almost wanna make a trip prior just for tuning it. Thanks for your help. I was worried I'd be too lean lol. It just sounds so off with the silencerz. But sometimes at the top of the powrrband especially when it's hot, it'll make a weird metallic buzzing noise and lose power unless I shift up. Hard to explain. I'd have to record it. I was afraid it was a lean noise. No pinging tho.
-
More than likely the dude I got it from had it setup for glamis and superstition with the 330s. Seemed to ride fine up here tho. But its my first banshee so i wouldnt know. Im gunna make a tester. But it's a jet size smaller per 1000 feet in elevation rt?
-
When I had the t5s it was setup by Duncan racing and it had 330 mains and a 27.5 pilot. When I went pro circuit I dropped to 310 mains and up to 30 pilot. 0-1/4 throttle it would have no power with the 27.5 pilot and I can't remember but I think it use to bog at wot but something made me lower the main jet. I'll post pics of the plugs later. Not chopped tho.
-
Honestly it might be 270 main with 30 pilot 1 and a half turns out been a long timr.

Running 32:1 91 octane

Huh. Ya it sounded way weird when I tried the 27.5s had a weird buzzing sound, only way to describe it. It gets cold up here but the usual winter weather during the day is 40-60. I went from t5s to the pc pipes with the 304 silencer so it sounded weird anyways. But there's no oil on the plugs at all, they're kinda carmel. I'll have to check compression and do a leak down test. It likes to start with the choke on usually pretty well then I have to turn it off or it'll bog a little but keep running. Been riding it like this for a while and haven't fouled any plugs or had any problems.

I'm not great at jetting yet so I was hoping to get in the right ballpark for glamis. I'm at 4000 feet stock motor, v force reeds, no air lid, pc platinum pipes, 304 factory silencers. I'm currently using 30 pilots and 310 mains, stock carbs. The plugs look good. I was thinking maybe turn the air screw in a bit and go up a few sizes on the main.
-
ya. I just put vforce 4 reeds on it and had to bump the main to 330 with the 30 pilot because it was lean with the smaller pilot, but now its back to making the buzzing sound on deceleration. ill easily be able to get a video of it because it does it a lot. kinda hard to ride holding a phone tho lol. need to fuckin tape it to me or something
-
it was the pilots. it needed the 30s on it. its so badass, seems like the reeds added more top end. I still need to plug chop and adjust the air mix but im real close. wondering about the mains tho.
-
hell ya, thanks for the info
-
k ill do a leak down test then and see what happens
-
do you think the main jet needs to be 330 with the new reeds or can I go back down to 310? I haven't done a leakdown test yet but I with my Toomey t5s it ran 330s with 27.5 pilot and was jetted perfect for my altitude. done by Duncan racing. when I went to pro circuit pipes I had to go down to 310s and the plugs looked perfect. but the temperature is crazy here. it averages 30-50 F in the winter and 80-115 in the summer. so when its cold my jetting makes more sense lol.
