  1. Exactly. A friend is moving in.... not a son. You will never be his dad so don't try to be. Just be the coolest friend he has. Then, he'll spend more time with you and your girlfriend and what do you know, you've been a dad and kept him off the streets. When a kid is happy they do AS GOOD AS THEY CAN in school. It just works that way. Be his best friend... not his dad.
  2. If you have one of the pistons to look at this might help. http://www.mztech.fsnet.co.uk/workshop/wrk_piston.html
  3. I don't know about the 2 into 1 but I couldn't get my fmf silencers apart for crap either. Had to beat the crap out of them.
  4. I wipe a thin layer of something like yamabond on the cover seal surface and bolt it on. I've never had a gasket on there and never had a leak.
  5. Or your pilot jet is rich with the warm weather. Try turning the pilot screws out 1/2 to 1 turn out further than they are. See if that helps.
  6. Cool. I'm surprised more people from el paso aren't on here though. With the open desert all around there is a lot more riding than most places I've been. I had a 600 dual purpose yamah there. It was great. I could run up trans mountain, find a trail, run up some hills and ride home. Go toward red sands, find little tracks and trails in the desert everywhere on the way. There is the training land next to Fort Bliss we rode on a lot. Actually, I recieved a steel plate on my clavical from wrecking there Wish I had a banshee in El Paso though.
  7. Indiana doesn't require a title either. But, you can have the vin ran by the police department to make sure it's not stolen.
  8. For 300 ft you can advance the timing a lot more than +4. Also, if you are under say 190 lbs a lightened flywheel will work. It's said, for drag racing only, if you are heavy the heavier flywheel can help get you out of the hole because you are holding open the revs. Other than that the lightened flywheel is good all around for everyone !!! www.planetsand.com has a lot about timing and 300ft drags.
  9. Not in the market but where are you located.
  10. tdr reeds can be had for $30 -$40.
  11. If you do a search you'll find a ton of stuff on 4mm.
  12. Mines on the frame on the bottom rail I think it's on the right side but don't recall which side.
  13. I hope he puts the rest of the banshee stuff up even though he's into the 250r now.
  14. As far as the pod filter falling off, if you rode for a while afterwards and it runs the same, you've most likely already washed the dirt through the engine. I have had the fear of sand making it through my engine before but did no damage the created any trouble. As far as the coolant, banshees do leak when ridin hard. Here is a way to prevent or mostly prevent that from happening. Move the bottle to the front like shown in this link. http://kuoi.asui.uidaho.edu/~john/tips.html
  15. That transisiton uses the needle a lot. I'd lower that needle for sure. With it being so hot a lot of peoples jetting issues have been being to rich. Come winter it'll be, " my banshee just doesn't pull like it should",... lol. Jetting is affected greatly by weather changes.
  16. Can you be a little more specific. Usually sputtering means it's to rich... But I'd agree it's the needle. If the bikes cold, I'd just let it warm up before riding it.
  17. I sure wish Meat didn't take down his web site. He had a step by step. Maybe he'd answer a pm and send you some pics.
  18. Survey says, ... Ding !!! Don't go to far either way or you could be asking for trouble. Most people advance the timing since the banshee has enough top end for most people. Somewhere between +3 to +7 for most bikes and most pipes.
  19. I don't remember my stock carbs being like that. I believe the dyno needles use a washer along with the clip to achieve a have step in the needle change but that's it.
  20. The only way to do it
  21. I hit record my score but it doesn't record. I played for about 3 min. Lowest I got was .180 but it didn't record.
  22. 94-95 then 96-98. Patriot Missile Maintainer Operator. Also air Defense.
  23. I never read about red sands on here. I don't think many people in El Paso or near by know about this site. I use to live on Ft Bliss. I've ridden out there. I think BenBB on here has ridden there before too. Start spreading the work about bansheehq and you'll be suprised how fast you find local riders.
