  1. As I was reading this, I thought of a of factors.... Quality of fuel. Like Dave said, it's most likely going to be that reason why people notice an increase. That's not going to de the case when sanddevil went from 110 to 117. Quality fuel was already in the picture. I'm guessing the jetting was off from the beginning. Being that different fuels have a different specific gravity, this would effect jetting. Running the higher octane fuel may be yeilding proper or nearer proper jetting. Race fuel can be lighter and response can increase some. Race fuel can make the piston crowns run too cool on an already jetted properly engine and decrease performance.
  2. Exactly what I was thinking!!!
  3. You can get yours revalved, sprung and rebuilt for around $350.
  4. My new basket has play after 4 hard weekends. When in gear you will always have tension on the cushions.. they are made to wear. As long as they are gone and hitting metal to metal they are doing their job. Now, I could see if you droped it in gear from neutral and hit the gas real hard at the same time the slack being rough... but even in neutral there is tension to keep the slop out of the basket.
  5. Yeah, it's a clicker wheel at the bottom of the shock on the stock shock. Reach in there with your palm up, that's the easiest way to get a grip on it. Turn it with your index finger and thumb. If your compression adjustment.. the clicker wheel at the top, doesn't do anything it's probably time for a rebuild.
  6. I have a hinson. If I knew about the barnetts I would have that one instead. That's the best there is. james lucky atv has them in stock.
  7. More info please !!!
  8. Okay I'm back at trying to goo Anybody driving from somewhere around Indiana. Also, what are the dates most people are going to ride. I have to turn in my vacation schedule in a day or two and I want to block them just in case I just don't have any kind of plan right now. I'll find out this month if I'll still have a job too. Hope that all works out. Help me out. Give me some ideas.
  9. You can buy woodruff keys at Ace or just about any hardware. I don't have the size handy though.
  10. Find a helmet that fits good. Make sure it's dot and snell approved.
  11. It the clutch is new or in good shape it's either the adjustment is to tight or the oil.
  12. We must have had lack of command because heres the rules.. he was pretty close ... Here is the rules... I found it while doing a search... We've asked this question in the past, but it was so much fun, I thought we would ask it again. Up until 1982, active duty military personnel could consume alcoholic beverages, while on any federal military installation, regardless of state drinking age laws. In 1982, Congress passed a law which required military bases to comply with state drinking age laws, except in cases where the base was within 100 miles of a border with a lower drinking age. Of course, there's the time-honored argument that if someone is old enough to fight for their country, and volunteers to do so by joining the military, they should be treated as adults in all matters (including drinking). On the other hand, advocates against lowering the drinking age claim that keeping the drinking age at 21 for everyone, military included, saves countless lives each year.
  13. If you have a welder you can weld two bolt to a piece of steel stock the same distance apart as the holes in the face of the flywheel. Becareful not to push it to far into the holes and damage the stator. That's how I made my holding tool after I saw mat's
  14. Maybe that's true. I was active army from 94 to 98. I was stationed at Fort Jackson South Carolina, Ft. Polk LA and Ft. Bliss Tx. I was under 21 and could drink at all three. I must just be a retard. Hell, maybe they just had a good chain of command. I have to ask my brother. He just got out last year from Ft. Bragg. It sounds like that guy knows more than I do. I'm just saying how it was for us.
  15. I get mine out when it's 15 deg. Pull the choke, shake it a little bit and fire it up. No problem. I'm rich on my pilots though. That's what you need. You can't flood the shee by blipping the throttle; it doesn't have an accelerator pump like a car carburetor does. I suppose if you kick it over a lot with the ignition turned off it will.
  16. When you put it back together, just seal up the hole where the wires come through with silicone. Make sure the stock rubber seal goes on the cover right and screw the cover on tight with some allen head stainless screws. No more water. I like riding in water and I never see water in my cover. I use to before siliconing the hole.
  17. Check that coil with another ... not the book mat. My coil has never read what the book said. I checked it when we went to silverlake with a spare somebody had. It was the same as the spare. Have you replaced the plut wires yet. Have you swapped the wires to see if the one cylinder runs better then. If you need me to check my coil let me know. I'll check mine.
  18. I was going to post and tell you to get ahold of DUNEDEMON... guess he got ahold of you
  19. A little trick to get by the "the system" if you have a laptop. People can email you pics if they rename them with a decent name. If you're using the pc's that are set up for you... sorry charlie... don't get caught. If it helps, my family of 5 appreciate every second soldiers spend fighting for the freedom of our country and other countries. It will be over before you know it and you'll have the pride of what you've done know matter what job you end up with after the military. One day at a time. You are liberating a country... just think how big that is. The Tyler Family
  20. I don't care if you thought the whole crank and he didn't. You're not happy and you should get your money back. $90 is a lot of money. He should refund any shipping also. Post his address; maybe somebody will go knock on his door for a U.S Soldier.
  21. When you are in the military you can buy liquor and beer on post even at 18. If you are defending the country you can drink.
  22. I wouldn't say more jetting, I'd say more accurate jetting. If you're jetting right now, you'll be fine. Just do a plug check to make sure. Most of the time you won't have to do anything with jetting.
  23. If you still hear it when you start to release the clutch then that's not it either. My clutch basket was the same way and I put a new one in. Mine still has a noise. I can't say it's the same as yours, but I thought I'd let you know. The basket bushing do wear though.
