If you need a new crank you might as well buy a 4 mil and send off your cylinders for porting. Your at the point where spending 200 dollars more is going to make a huge difference in performance.
Put your money elsewhere and run the stock carbs. Will be no difference on your engine. Unless you actually need carbs, I’d keep the stock ones and put money into go fast parts
Motts is down the street from my house. They rebuilt my hot rods crank for me. Quality shop. Also I’d look hard at NPP for custom pipes.
thumbs up on HJR also
Stock air box?
fattys I believe like a bigger pilot, if you don’t have an air box try a 30, but I think you’ll be good with 27.5.
main you can safely start at 280 and work your way down.
i would email FMF though, they can set you straight
CPI and shearers are great pipes that pull hard, but they pull hard in the upper end of the rpm. They’re drag pipes.
if your drag racing only CPI or Shearers
mid range PCs and fmf fattys
low range SLP
No you’ll need to open it up. It might be worth your time to bring it to a shop with a dyno if there prices are good. You could dial it in with the AFR meter
