i mixed a full 5 gallons with 20 oz of oil. i found a mixing chart over on everything 2 stroke. thats what it said fir 32:1 was 20oz with 5 gallons i said close cause eye balling i could have been a hair off. it was a new thing of oil so it was full and i used the correct amount. ineed to get a mixing cup to make it easier, but its right close to 32:1 -

stator is oem. and i just put plugs in to make sure that wasnt my problem with uneven pressures and hard start. the plugs are temp 9 though. would that make a difference since its like 40 or so out? it had 8s in it and i got a set if new 9s for hill climbing this summer. i have heard they run better but i guess i dont really know. but yeah im running 93 octane and 32:1 or very close to that ratio. also im using amsoil synthetic 2 stroke interceptor oil. juat trying toget it ready for this summet. i havent been able to get it out and really open it up consistently so the carbs might just br building up with crap. -
i only have 27000 to spend on a toy.... lmao

so i posted on here the other day about a hard start and uneven pressure from the pipes on my 04 banshee. i was told to clean carbs. which is what i intend to do, i would today if it wasnt snowing. and it seemed to be solidified today as to that being the case. i went out to start it and it started first kick like it wouldnt do the other day. so im assuming it flooded itself out. anyways my question is this. while putting my hand behind exhaust to check pressure coming out, i was sprayed with oil. im running it rich cause im new to then and didnt want to blow it up. so am i running it too rich or is this normal maybe? i am running 32:1 oil gas ratio. and like i said i plan to clean the carbs as i think that will make a world of difference as well. but should i try a leaner gas/oil mix as well?

thanks. ill start woth carbs as soon as i can. ill try and do a leakfown as soon as i can as well. also i have a noss performance head on it. if i was to take it off to check the cylinder off, after checking other stuff first, what is needed for that? sorry i probably sound like an idiot. being a little colder here im worried i blew it up.....

my cousin rebuilt it. he is big on 2 strokes. he converted me from 4 strokes tonthe dark, and fun, side. lol. ill check the carbs tomorrow maybe. any gaskets or anything ill need to do th. at? also tors and parking brake thing have been properly removed. i ran a little seafoam (before i was told it could hurt them) and it made a world of difference. but being it has been cold up until today it could have even been from some icing in carbs. it was 40ish out today but has been high teens for the past week or so. will the carbs go from in sync to out of sync like that though? cause it is always a 1-2 kick start.

hi guys. im sure rhis has been answered a million times but im stuck. im new to 2 strokes but mechanically inclined. i took the banshee for a ride today. its started fine and i warmed it up and then took it for a quick spin. ran perfect. got on it to clean it out a bit, plus its just plain fun. then i pulled back in the driveway and accidently dropped the clutch and killed it. and then it was hard to start, i had to kick and kick and kick to get it started. then when i finally did the left side pipe didnt seem to have nearly as much ait pressure coming out. it was better when revved a little but not as much as the right side still. i was afraid to get back on it to how it runs. i didnt want to break anything. it supposedly on a fresh rebuild with about 8-12 hours on it. it idles fine once started and doesnt seem to hesitate when you hit the throttle. im running 32:1 oil mix on temp 8 plugs. plugs seemed fine but swapped with a new set of 9s i had to test and still the same thing. so any help before i tear into it would be great. thanks in advance.

bansheedemon replied to RACxEMxWILLIE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i like big impacts. its either going to get it out or break the hell out of it. i use the biggest matco one i could get. 1350ft/lbs break away torque. i hate stuck bolts. lol -
is that from a sponsor for $86 each? i got mine for 75 a piece shipped through motosport.com. just saying.
-
and from what i can tell unless you over inflate them they dont run round. i run at 5psi in them and they are flat on the ground i believe.
-
i like them but i dont use them in the extremes most of you guys do. i like them better than the holeshots i have used before. but i dont have a ton of expirience with other tires. i didnt like holeshot hds cause they wore out way to fast with what i ride on.

what about like a 22" kenda klaw? reversible tread for hard or soft terrain. 6 ply and good lugs. its what i run and i like them. 149.98 shipped to my door for a set of 20". a little heavy but seem.to grip well up here in minnesota in snow and ice right now.

well im riding with a guy driving a kx500 he runs out first anyways. lol. and my lid is off. thinking about going pod filters.

alright. i will learn the leakdown test thing. will be good to know. its running a richer oil mix cause its cooler. the guy i got it from was running 40:1 while hill climbing in 95 degree weather witj no over heating problems. its only had about 17 gallons of gas since.a complets rebuild. so ill learn my maintenance and make sure everything ks jn tip top shape. thanks.

i know. i have only ridden it a couple times. i was told it was jetted to tun rich (but i dont kbow for sure) and i have been running 32:1. it smokes good. but again i dont know how lean its actually running inside the motor so im not riding it. just had to take my new toy for a couple spins. if i did want to ride it more is there anything i can do to it or just re-jet? honestly i dont know a ton about them yet but i know enough not to blow it up. i have done a lot of reading on the banshees and 2-strokes when i decided to buy this one. but i dont have a ton of hands on expirience. my cousin is a big 2 stroke guy so he has set me up alright. and something else a little off topic. im about to start getting it ready for this seasons riding. what fluids should i be using? i plan on changing out crank case and coolant. and anything else i should look at? i do need to clean carbs as well.

lol. kind of figured. i never bought into them. but i love my banshee all the same. not a big fan of the plastics but runs good and its fast. thats all that mattets. lol.
-
@tricked. do they actually work? i have seen a few companies with similar set ups but figured it was just kinfd of fake.
-
k. and this banshee has a bigger gas tank. i think round 4.5 gallons or so. im coming from a 4 stroke so i know im losing fuel mileage. just trying to figure out how big of a gas can ill have to bring along for a day of riding.
-
im not really complaining. i just have never had a banshee before and didnt know what to expect. i love it and maybe thats just all the better fuel consumption i will get. i was just curious if its normal.
-
that thing you put into yout intake? or whatever. spins ait and atomizes fuel for better power and economy?
-
sorry. i forgot to say my road is about 3 miles to the end and back.
