  1. I am pretty sure my left front caliper is bad, makes a poping sound when engaging front brakes. Im thinking about just replacing all of them. They have been well used and my brakes are terrible. Takes a long time to stop and i have weak pedals. Whats a good brand of caliper or are they all generally the same? it has an aftermarket one on the rear already but im unsure of the brand. Cant make out the symbol.
  2. I was thinking a +4 just cause none of the trails around here are very tight. And im learning the gas and clutch method, but i drive mostly gravel and dirt roads so i dont get a ton of practice on grass til riding season is full on. I came from a predator so its definitely better, just taking some getting used too. Preddy was long and didnt pull the tires ever, thats the only i miss. You couldnt throttle it too hard and wind up on your ass. Lol
  3. Just as i thought getting some shit. Lol
  4. Alright so i may get some shit for this, but o well i would like sone opinions. I got my 04 banshee a couple months ago. It has a 397 bbk, pro circuit pipes, v-force 3 reeds, noss performance head (unsure of dome size), its been ported but im unsure of what style porting. Its a hell of a fun and fast ride. Cant beat it for riding on the dirt roads around here, but the hard packed soil and grass is a different story. Im a big guy 6' and about 270 lbs, and i was wondering how much of an extended swing arm i should get to keep the front tires on the ground when i pin it on the grass? I love riding it and i mostly ride on old dirt roads and mining hills. But it would be nice to be able to race on the grass and trails too.
  5. Its what i run. Good oil never had any problems. I run at 40:1 but you can run 50:1 like the mixing instructions on bottle with no problems. Running at 50:1 like bottle says also reduces heat of pipes.
  6. How do you tell? all the fittings on the cable look almost brand new.
  7. So im newish to banshees and i was wondering how stiff a clutch is supposed to be. Mine seems pretty firm. It has work done.to it but dont about any tranny or.clutch mods. The clutch works fine.just stiff.
  8. Then ill lean mine out a bit. Cause it does get insanely hot. Should i do 40:1 then? I just dont like the idea of leaning it out to 50:1. Even though 50:1 is what previous owner ran it at and had 0 problems.
  9. I have wondered about the difference in interceptervs dominator. I run the intercepter at 32:1, going to start with 40:1. It runs fine even at 50:1 but i dont want to lean it out.
  10. thats all it took to get mine running was warming it up and driving it hard for about 10-15 minutes to get it all cleaned up and running like a champ.
  11. Had a similar problem with my shee, sounds like.your fouling a plug. If let mine idle too much or drive too slow it starts fouling plugs. If i get on it good and keep it revved higher, even if its driving slowly i down shift to keep the rpms up. Keeps the plugs from getting full of crap. I was getting a lot of raw fuel from my left pipe, but if i drive it in the powerband im fine. I guees i dont know if mine is normal but it works for me and gives.me a validation to drive it fast.
  12. What octane gas are you running? 165 compression and 5 degree timing advance mighy be a little much for just premium pump gas.
  13. now im confused. i thought i had stock carbs but my crossover tube is different i believe.
  14. also i have heard to be careful running seafoam as it can lean out your mix quite a bit.
  15. 50:1 is way rich. 32:1 is good. and yeah premium 91-93 octane minimum. they say run premium right on them.
  16. personally i think wheelies are fun, but id rather it stays on the ground and juat hauls some ass. id rather have some rip your arm off acceleration without worrying about backflips.
  17. if you dont sit on the tank and scoot back a little it wheelies pretty effortlessly. mine isnt stock but not super crazy either.
  18. yeah when i get some extra cash i plan on re jetting. my cousin had it last summer and it didnt foul when it was warm. i need to hey some richer jets for 35-40 degree weather.
  19. well i swapped my plugs back to the 8s after torching them and cleaning them up. rode it nice and hard and no more problems. im just not used to a banshee and didnt know i needed to run it so hard to keep the plugs clean and keep it running right. i thought i was running it hard enough but i guess not. o well gives me a good reason to keep the rpms up and have some fun.
  20. k. its got a 397 stealth kit in it. but ill pick up a guage tonorrow abd see what they are. its definitely running better. just seems like it was flooded to beat hell. so im going to take of the carbs and clean them and check my jet sizes to at least see where im at. have to wait for it to quit snowing so i can get some work done on it. it will be fun mudding this spring anyways.
  21. i dont have a gapping tool or feeler guage what are they supposed to be at?
