  1. it doesnt add much power, but puts a lot of stress on the intake boots. Which if they crack can cause a big air leak and cause engine melt down from what i have heard. Id ditch the boost bottle. The benefits are not worth the potential downside imo.
  2. Thanks for the info guys. I will stick with the stockers until i decide to get a bigger motor. And im looking at doing some suspension work soon. Going with a +4 swinger and some new shocks. And new a arms if funds allow it.
  3. Looking to upgrade my carbs in the near future. Im running a 385 4mil, pro circuit pipes, mx port(i think), 19-20cc domes in a noss performance cool head, with stock carbs. I do a little trail riding but mostly hill climbs and riding quite a bit of sand. It all works well, but wondering if i should get some new carbs or stick with the stockers.
  4. With your description it could be about 1000 things.
  5. Lol. Just saying. Some people are weird.
  6. kind of why i left it a little rich. It wad running good and i dont like to mess with a good thing. But yeah i never thought i would have thought my compression was that high. Explains why it pulls so hard though. I might check the local airport and see if i can get some higher octane to mix even half and half with 93 just to be on the safe side. But yeah i bought it from my cousin and he bought it fron the person it was origionally built for. But no one really knows whats all in it. So im slowly figuring out what alls in the motor. Its bored to 65mm and measuring the stroke im at a 4mil stroker. Now when i take the off ill look at the porting and see what cc my domes are. Ill try and snap some pics and post them and see what you guys have to say and see if i cant figure out what all has been done to it. But for the $1800 i paid its a hell of a machine.
  7. It runs perfect on 93. Never had an issue. But i have 175psi right now. I just didnt think it would be that high. It doesnt miss or idle weird. If anything its running a bit rich. But it runs perfect on 93. What should i run at 175? i run 93 because its always been run on 93 with no problems.
  8. Im fairly sure it was due to me putting a gallon of 87 with my 2 gallons of 93. I didnt know.my compression was 175psi per cylinder before hand, i assumed it was around 140-150. So i probably had bad detonation with the shitty fuel and it wrecked my o rings. Seems like a clear case of operator error and assuming things when i shouldnt have
  9. Im just glad i didnt have complete meltdown. But lesson learned for sure. It could.have been a lot worse.
  10. Yeah ill just let my dad have it for his mower.
  11. Kind of what i figured. Why make the same dumb mistake twice. Lol
  12. Either way it was operator error and i know it was my fault. Im just damn glad and happy its just o rings. It started idling funny so i parked it and checked everything. A little coolant in the cylinder but no physical damage. So i let it cool down and started her back up and it was spraying out the right pipe. So i figured it was me being an idiot. But no more shitty gas for me. Whether it was over heating or bad detonation. On a related note (and i know this isnt great either) can i run a little octane booster just to bump it up for this tank or should i just drain it and start fresh?
  13. It may have been. Kind of what im leaning towards. Not for long but long enough. I stupidly mixed a little 87 octane with my 93 to top off my tank and i dont think the bike agreed with it. My fault but it got a little hot. But only for a few minutes. Checked everything else out and all looks good. So im hoping the new o rings help. Will running a little lower octane gas make it over heat? it was about 1 gallon of 87 to 2 and a half of 93. But all i know is i learned my lesson. Doesnt matter how bad i want to ride, absolutely no 87. Lol

  15. I would clean both carbs completely if you clean one.
  16. good to know. Are all the kits the same? I chose noss for 1. My head brand is noss, which im assuming doesnt matter much. And 2. The o ring kit looks more complete for like $23. Im assuming i only need the main ones, but ill replace them all if im in there. And what would cause a blown o ring? do they just wear out?
  17. Im going to venture a guess and say i blew an o ring on my right cylinder since i shoot coolant about 5ft out the right pipe. Im ordering an o ring kit early.this week from noss performance. These hard to put in? Im assuming not but it would be nice to know if there is any tips or tricks i need to know before i tear into it.
  18. One of the best things i have ever read. Lmao
  19. Thats what i did. And i came up with 55 once. 57 Once and 58 twice. 55 Was on first try so i think that one was a messed up one. The others were better.
  20. That is an excellent idea. Not sure why i didnt think of it. Trying to over complicate it i guess. Most of my measurements came out to 57-58mm stroke. Ill double check it that way though.
  21. Gotcha. I have been trying.to measure my stroke. But its being a pain in my ass. Keep messing it up, and getting different readings.
  22. kind of what i figured. Hardware stores usually have them or are they an uncommon size that has to be special ordered?
  23. I did a compression test and both were right about 175psi. Whats the compression for a 4mil stroker roughly?
  24. so conpression test read at 173 in left cylinder and 175 right cylinder. Which is a lot higher than i figured it would be. And i scoped it with a camera, which led me to an area of concern. There is a little coolant in the right side cylinder. Not much but about 8-10 drops on top of piston. What would cause this? Small tear in right side o-ring for the cool head?
