  1. What needle and clip position do you have in it, timing set at? Do you have a temp gauge on it? My drag ported 421 cub with pretty much the same setup, (35 pwk's, k&n's, vf3's, inframe sheare's, timing at +6, mixing 114 oct @40:1) and pretty much the same elevation is jetted at 148 mains, 48 pilot, cel needle on the 5th clip position. I am still a little rich on my main's. I had it tuned on the dyno a few weeks ago and rode it pretty hard last weekend and it was running a little rich both times but I left it alone. Even after a lot of passes by me and my buddy mine never got above 165 degrees. Last year I had an air leak that I got sealed once but came back. Hope that helps.

  4. I use blue loctite on a lot of the bolts. Do not use the red stuff or you might not get bolts out.

Seems like a lot of timing for one thing, I think most people are running closer to around +5 with 421 cubs, that's what I was told to run when I had mine built and if needed I could go up 1 or 2 . But maybe I am wrong and that's what yours needs. 35's are not to small, they will work fine if set up correct. I am using CEL needle's on my 421 cub on the 4th position down. I don't know anything about the dek needle though. Are you sure that's what needles you have?

  10. I have a set of inframe Shear S/B S/F pipes . Pipes are nickle plated and are in pretty good shape, but do have a couple little dings and 1 spot that was welded on the insde, weld looks better in person just the coating is burnt . You can't see it when they are mounted on the bike though. They could use a little polishing but still look nice. I made a deal with another member on here and should have the matching silencers in a day or two.   11. If your buddy wont even tell you about his secret tranny how do you know he's also not telling you about his secret porting, milled head, advanced timing or whatever other internal mods you can't see. Just saying....
  12. Check that your slides are down all the way.I just had the same thing happen to me. New build with 35 pwk's from another bike I never ran, plugs looked dry also. Somebody adjusted the carb tops so the slides were still open about 1/4" all the time. Didn't even check that at first because they were supposed to be off a running bike with almost the exact same setup.

  14. I would say 1st get a manual, then take it apart with out getting drunk, then follow the pictures and directions on putting it together, again with out getting drunk. Just my opinion though.
  15. I'm running on race fuel, drag ported with 35 pwk's 158 mains and 48 pilots with CEL needles, B8ES plugs. Around 900ft. I haven't had much time to tune it yet though.
