  1. That little rubber plug goes in the case in front of the sprocket. Collar is damaged from the seal -replace. Factory nut, was the concave in board? The nut being tight keeps the countershaft from going in and out.
  2. Last guy with that exact problem had water is his fuel but was too hard headed to check it because it ran good and he just filled it up.
  3. To put it in perspective; The Banshee owners manual recommends 24:1 The most popular here is 32:1, some run 40:1, and a very few run 50:1 or even less.
  4. Oh, and one more very important thing since you deleted the TORS. Set the throttle stop so the slides do NOT go much above the bore...They will stick at WOT.
  5. If you really feel the need to run a lid, I use one of these back when I ran my Banshee in the mud at our local riding spot. Those Toomey 1" vents they recommend for "perfect jetting" per their instructions, are junk. http://store.ehsracing.com/ehsracing_banshee_350_airbox_kit_cover.html
  6. Again, mine does the same with the filter off. I was sure surprised the first time, wouldn't think it'd matter.
  7. Yamalube 2R? Same mechanic that told you asphalt makes the engine hotter?
  8. No Problem, I'm following, LOL, but you were tuning, riding, bogging, with no box or filter, right?
  9. V4's like a bigger pilot, try your air screws at 1/2 or 1 out until your 27.5 come in.
  10. Yes, I see, and agree with that. But with no filter or box/lid and 38° air, it'll bog when you crack those slides.
  11. Exactly. But the way I read it, he's trying to tune with no filter or box. Need to put it all together the way It's going to be ran.
  12. I've never had a problem with stock carbs on a stockish bike. I always thought tuning was very forgiving. That being said, I can't even ride mine into the garage after washing if the filter is off. Bogs bad, and it's on the rich side.
  13. I'll agree. I've always preferred stock needles. And Toomey's jetting recommendations (280) is with 10 of their little crap vents in the box, which they told me is equivalent to no lid. Anyway, I run T5's, stock carbs, 280s, stock needle, EHC Racing lid screen, (the equivalent of no lid), 25pilots, 1000", no bog.
  14. I got that wrong, that's equivalent to our 50:1 Hope you use really good oil. Some here use that little of oil, most use 32:1
  15. post pictures of the broken engine parts and the spark plugs. For now I'm going to assume without the stock air box and twice the oil mix most of us use, you ran it lean (to little fuel to air) and melted down the pistons. There's a lot to read here on BansheeHQ, sounds as if you have a lot to learn about these 2 stroke machines. We all started somewhere.
  16. The fuel jets in the carbs require changes for temp, elevation and motor mods like pipes and filter changes from stock.
  17. What's your mechanic recommend? I only ask because the asphalt riding attributing to engine heat thing is ridiculous. It shouldn't matter as long as your jetting is correct for the ratio. Without knowing what actually broke, hard to diagnose the problem.
  18. I've read your post multiple times. Thought it over for quite some time. Re-read it again. Sorry, no idea. Thought you'd want to know. It appears you've followed Toomeys instructions, so the normal "sure the slides are in right" and float setting, is off the table.
  19. That translates to 20:1 and 62mph to us. Those numbers are not being hard on a Banshee at all. Stock Yamaha crank? What exactly blew up on it?
  20. Bearings give out? Crank separate? Use good premix? Excessive RPM's? Cranks don't necessarily "blow up" Street riding shouldn't be the cause.
  21. I use a stock radiator in my 421 Serval, never had a problem.
  22. Seriously, you are way over qualified to be working on these antiquated machines. I'm Dennis on FB btw.
