  1. ^^^That^^^ Or a small independently owned body shop. I do stuff like that all the time for people.
  2. No, it could very well be the stator itself. Harnesses burn alot on the right side of the airbox The black/white tracer wire is the kill wire to the CDI
  3. I'd say with that and your kill switch being in-operative, you've got a wiring short somewhere in the harness.
  4. Powerline Performance is running a special right now https://www.facebook.com/powerlineperform/
  5. ^^^ Every bit a that ^^^
  6. If your pilots were that plugged, so could be your choke circuit. I read on here a guy had to replace the left bowl because the passages wouldn't come clean/clear.
  7. Yes, that is what stops the flow of fuel to the bowl.
  8. Stator resistance: Ignition coil should be 13.7-20.5 Ohms (red to green wire) Pickup coil should be 94-140 Ohms (white/red to white/green wire) Lighting coil should be 0.26-0.38 Ohms (black to yellow wire) Coil resistance: Primary coil should be 0.28-0.38 Ohms Secondary coil should be 4,700-7,100 Ohms
  9. The thumb switch needs no continuity to start The key switch needs continuity to start. No test for the CDI but to switch with a known working one.
  10. Redundant grounds are never a bad idea. That being said if all else is completely up to par, the coil will work completely isolated from the frame. The clean metal to metal mount that is recommended for the coil is for heat dissipation. (I'm sure some opinions will differ) Back to your problem...do you still have a key switch? If not has it been jumped properly? Red/black connected to Black.
  11. Blasphemy
  12. Which ride, what date... All a blur!!!
  13. Danged if it wasn't. Nevermind.
  14. Spring Ride. Co-op or Mexican Restaurant basement?
  15. You do realize that a compression test and a leakdown test are two completely different things, right? The leakdown being VERY important.
  16. And use the plural form of words that refer to more than one... Carb(s) Kit(s) etc.
  17. AND A LEAKDOWN TEST (pressure test) now and everytime you have something apart - like reeds See what jets were in it when you got it -Do NOT use the jets that came in the rebuild kit. Download Tapatalk and post pics. The reeds are bent thing... V-Force carbon fiber doesn't bend it breaks
  18. Reeds bent = bad, should almost seal. Preferably seal. If you've had the intakes off, that is a very normal/common place to have an air leak. Need to be sure a 2 stroke has NO air leaks.
  19. A- Welcome to BHQ B- Nothing wrong with stock carbs. If you even have idle screws and no TORS tops, that means someone has already drilled and tapped. Do you have a jam nut on the screw? That will hold it once the adjustments are made. Post a pic of the side of the carbs. C- Use some punctuation, some of us are old and don't read or comprehend gud as it is.
  20. 10 7/8" Should be same on all years.
  21. Heck ya, woke up here. That 12 O'clock wheelie was me. Yes I rode it out. LOL
  22. Man, oh how I wish that I was the kind of guy that could install stuff at wonky angles and just not give a crap. Really. I was also gonna touch on the coaster thing again... But another time perhaps.
