  1. jt just mad and cray.
  2. you can get the prox cr5 144 rod on nearly any street corner
  3. the only kind of boat even worth mentioning
  4. justwannarace has a valid point. whats mechanically feasible and whats a good idea are two different things. some folks have a hard time differentiating between them. I cringe everytime I see someone ask for help on some bigbore stockers. feasible :yes. good idea: fuk no
  5. been there before. if hole and threads arent exactly straight in from the sealing surface youll be forced to use rtv or forever be plagued with small leak
  6. for $350 what do you expect. good bearings and rods cost more than that
  7. nothing to see. got rid of everything
  8. yes i believe so. i would like to use wider centers with smaller cylinders. this would give better geometry through the passage
  9. 225 sounds like alot. 745cc in dyno section is only 170 or so. did u sneeky buggers find some new technology haha
  10. ya i know. theres barely enough room for 64mm pistons if u want a sliver of hope for passage geometry that isnt severly compromised
  11. no the inboard 6 trans look all sqaushed up more than the outer 6
  12. is it just me or does these transfer look very asymmetric from one side to the other ?
  13. benol ,blenzall, 927 are the only ones your likely to have problems with in the cold. i would use alot more oil but thats just me. theres no reason to use that small of oil unless its trail bike with no power that cant rev
  14. and ya I take the tank screen out of all my shit and just have inline filter
  15. starts right up and runs fairly good with choke on. not so good with choke off. theres your clue. my moneys on the pilots being to small. try some 30 or 32 in there and I bet it runs like a champ airscrews do have a small affect but when your so far off that it wont run with the choke off, time to go up a notch on the pilot. my .02
  16. your at about 75%. with a generous arch it shouldn't kill rings to bad. hopefully it runs to your liking because with the amount of piston pop out at the deck it doesn't appear youll be able to drop the cylinder back down at all (part of the reason I suggest not to shoot for the moon right away incase something goes sideways and have to lower it back down)
  17. I just mentioned several reasons why not to immediately put the exh roof in the clouds. how is that not helpful ?
  18. ya I bet if everyone understood it there wouldn't be such a nee jerk reaction to raise exh to the clouds, mostly by newbs. with a lower exh you get a more forgiving engine, wider power spread, better power at lower revs and more leeway to make adjustments down the road.
  19. in a pv mx style engine theres less than 30* with the valve down. more like 25* actually. this works great at low engine speeds and the beauty of a pv. other wise the returning exh would be arriving to early and pollute the transfer charge and there would be no power. ever wonder why tall exh ports bog and don't work worth a fuk at low engine speeds ? this is why.
  20. he doesnt know what he looking for. thats why hes just gonna mimic the drivelines. i caution newbs from copying because the parameters of two different cylinders may not be even remotely similar. but like you say, trying is learning.... hopefully
  21. meh gas is for nancys
  22. get couple sets of cheap feeler gauges and stack under cylinder to find what spacer /gaskets u want. we cant hold your hand all the time so better think outside da box on your own alittle lol
  23. by 'going through the motions' I meant doing practice port jobs on unusable cylinders. jump in head first for all I care. aint my cylinders lol when someone says they got it all figured out, and in the same thread, asks how much the timing will change with a 2mm spacer....... I just shake my head I gotts ta go fellers. best of luck
