  2. Anybody bringing a little extra Alky? I just realized my drum is 3/4 empty. Im bringing what i have but doubt itll be enough for the whole trip. I'll gladly buy whatever extra you can spare! Thanks!
  3. Does anyone over 12yr old actually name their bike?
  4. Its Springers old frame. +12" out the front. Supposed to be a baaad mamma jamma. But havent had a chance to put a motor in it.
  5. Ready! Wish i had time to get this one all together > Next year i guess!
  6. Nearest? Or nicest that's within 30 minutes? Because there is a GREAT difference when talking NW OK area. haha
  7. Well, whatever one i go with sure wont get that treatment. I'm using it as a work truck, which means its going to have to "earn" its keep not sit around all the time.
  8. Thats Trinity Racing. Do a search on here and see what you come up with. Id buy the one J Madd has for sale if it was me, but if you have to have new, dont buy from Trinity.
  9. Do not buy from, them.
  10. Right now for service/spraying stuff i run two 1ton Dodge vans with 360's and 4.11 gears. They actually tow good being so long and heavy, plus everything can be locked up and out of the rain/weather. But i think for the 8-10k stuff a 1ton diesel would be far superior.
  11. Story goes you make a real high quality swing-arm. haha
  12. I have a set of Phoenix Gold 6.5 components and a Cadence amp > http://www.cadencesound.com/TXA3004 if you are interested, Pm me.
  13. I tow 5-6k daily,,approx 50-100miles,sometimes more..not much i know. Occasionally i need to tow 8-10k.
  14. Thanks for all the replies. Let me describe a little better what itll be used for. Im NOT going to mod it for more power. If im going to build a hot rod again,a diesel 1ton isn't the best platform IMO. haha The only mod i might do is something minor to improve reliability and MPG,,if some power came with it,that's cool. It will only be used for towing duty on-road,,but id still want 4WD just in case. Id probably go with an auto trans as a laborer might drive it time-to-time.
  15. 330-350m/ 30pilot/stock needle mid clip. Should get you somewhere close
  16. I've always been a GM guy, but now that I'm in the market for a diesel, I'm looking at Ford and Dodge. Pro's and Con's of each? What years are to be avoided? I don't want to go too far back in the years,,want something i can use for work 3-4 years then sell. Thanks for any experienced input.
  17. Or even a dirty rad. I took mine off once and flushed the outside with A/C coil cleaner and water and couldn't believe what came out.
  18. This is true. They have some nice parts. Quality is there too!
  19. If it helps you sleep at night get one. I know i did a couple experiments on our 421 Serval with a stocker vs aftermarket impeller and noticed no temp decrease. That coupled with the fact that i change all our water pump parts (seal bearing, pump, washer ,clip) out about every 3 years, makes me stand by OEM. If you are worried about temps, id look at a higher capacity radiator,,but honestly i found more heat reduction by going with a richer needle taper than anything else.
  20. Exactly. Thats why i said something CAUSES the plastic to go. Its not the impeller that failed arbitrarily and caused the engine to overheat ( usually). What usually happens is the bike overheats from running lean ( airleak, jetting, etc) or other maintenance issues, and over time the heat finally gets the best of the plastic. On a tight , well tuned and well running engine, Ive yet to see a pump go out in a REASONABLE amount of service use. ( 4-5 years)
  21. Because they fit right ( cant say all aftermarket ones always do) and they last a long time. You hear some horror stories about stockers melting, but i think that's just a maintenance issue or something else caused it (maintenance again). But even with the few horror stories , how many thousands are out there in use, and BEEN in use for 5,10,15 years without being replaced EVER. Cant say that about the aftermarket ones. IF i was to buy an aftermarket one, it'd be a Chariot though.
  22. A lot of people will disagree with me, but i prefer an OEM one.
  23. ...Been there, definitely avoid that place.
  24. Bring some water hose and pipe the exhaust into the tent while you're at it.
