  1. Not really I have used several different fuels they seem all real similar. When I mix fuel I will put 2 or 3 gallons of pump to 5 gallons or 110 or 112 gas and always run 32-1 mix I mostly trail ride and look for hills.
  2. You can't go wrong for $100 it is a good pipe if you are woods riding. I'm sure you could resell it and get your money back. Make sure you rejet if you get the 2 into 1 you need basically stock jetting. It won't run well jetted fat.
  3. I run 110 octane straight or mixed with pump and about 180 or 185 on the compression
  4. .006 seems real tight if you already ran it you should be fine I think it is suppose to be closer to .01 or .012
  5. you can go to 66.5mm but you have to get the head modified and resleeving is usually not worth the cost just get a new set of jugs
  6. I would say mid 50's to mid 60's
  7. Thanks everyone for your kind responses.
  8. That really looks nice have you ever tried the ez pull clutch lever with the 3 holes in the lever for leverage and if so how does this compare as far as pull tension and smoothness. years ago I had the easy pull lever and did not really like it your setup seems better
  9. Like banshee hp said its hard to change the way you think as far as what works and what does not. I am the same way. this pipe is definatly better than the dynoport. this is not the pipe i would run if I did all faster paced riding but I am always at about 1/8 to 1/2 throttle most of the time just screwing around like today we went to some small limestone hills as we call them (similar to real fine coal dust or silt hills) it has 3 or so inches of snow on them and are all ruted up and obstacles all over the place so you have to ride it like a 4 stroke lean back and try to make it walk up the hill as your drifting back and fourth trying to get traction the lower you could keep the rmp the better it was most of the time (just over idle). I'm not saying you cant make it with a modded shee with twin pipes. actually my brother in law made it more times than I did on a basiclly stock 400ex with new tires. These 2 into 1 pipes just seem to work well for me and are not for everyone. I will see if I can borrow a set of twin pipes for a comparision what are the best pipes for idle to 1/2 throttle this is where I ride 70% of the time so this is where I want the power seems no sence in running a pipe that makes power from 6000 to 9500 rpm if I'm never there. so thanks for reading and let me know on the best pipe and I will try to get my hands on them
  10. I went and played some more with the exhaust and then switched from the shearer to the dynoport 2 into1 one and the shearer makes more in the seat fell torque it seems to pull 1 gear higher than the dynoport 2 into 1. so far the pipe is awesome and will be great for anyone looking to make better driveable power in low rpm motors Keep up the good work Matt Shearer I would love to see a set of the new serval jugs with this pipe that would be a nice setup possibly.
  11. Well as I figured it would not fit correct this pipe was made for no airbox Matt Shearer did say that he would make one to clear the stock airbox. I did get it to fit although not the way I want I will probably have him make me one that is made for the airbox. It has way more low end and throttle responce that my twin pipes which are suppose to be real close to fmf pipes acording to dynoport it seems to hit right off the bottom and revs very well. it seems to be running to rich as I did not change any jets yet from the twins it seems to pull very nice cant wait to actually get to ride it (my yard has snow in it right now and there are only a few dry spots to really try it but only 1st few gears. so far I like it and it sounds awsome when you get on the throttle.
  12. thats a great idea I'll take 2 sets
  13. Sorry to hear about your injury hope you get well soon, every one crashes sooner or later but it sure does suck when you get hurt good luck on the recovery.
  14. I figured I would hear some shit for the pipe choice but its just my preference. Maybe one day I will join the pc cult but for now I will just keep playing with what works for me. I do understand that I'm losing a lot of power but I never seem to be up in the rpm high enough to make the loss of bottom end power worth it. where we ride I'm in 1st and 2nd gear going in and out of trees over rocks etc. 50 plus % of the time I'm riding my buddies all have 400ex quads and yes most of what we ride that is a better quad for the terrain but doing it on a banshee just makes it so much more fun.
  15. I use to run a dynoport 2 into 1 pipe and wanted to go back to my old pipes, they were mid range dynoport twin pipes. I changed them and hate the twins yes they make way more power but I dont like the low end power, seems that when playing on hills the 2 into 1 pipe can lug down much lower befor trying to stall. I'm borrowing (from east coast atv) a shearers 2 into 1 pipe and am going to be testing it out I spoke with Matt Shearer a few months ago and told me what to expect from this pipe he seams very helpful and down to earth not trying to oversell everything. I ride all trails a lot of real tight stuff. I will keep you posted on how the new pipe works. (hopefully I will clear my airbox with out to much tweeking)
  16. x2 on the sprocket also a chain that is badly streched can cause a clicking usually it is louder pushin the bike backwards.
  17. I cut and welded my a arms as well I did not change my ball joints thou I cut them back at the tube whre they meet to the frame and made them 2 inches wider and 1 inch forward per side. I also relocated my shock mounts on the a arm ot change the stiffness and ride height. works great I have a this now for a few years with no problems I ride real rocky areas and do some jumps. the quad has taken a beating. thats not to say it won break next time. I have also cut and welden my footpegs moved them back about 2 inches along with my rear brake and shifter measure twice and cut once good luck
  18. If you are looking for 20 inch tires I just got some its mudlites and they seem nice I ride tctri and ride rocks mud and coal hills.
  19. well I screwed that up but ride.race.live pretty much said it all good luck the only limit is your wallet
  20. Why would you say good luck with that frame?
  21. I have the trinity 2 into 1 intake I see you kit has the option to go all the way down tothe stock size carb ( not included ) I also have a 2 into 1 pipe by going smaller on the carb how much bottom end would I get vs how much top would I loose. I would like to gain more low and mid.
  22. I could be wrong but I thought you said ithe other post you ran out of fuel 2 times in 2 hours.
  23. I would check for a air leak on the left sideand maybe check the carb on the left side clogged jets float issue etc.
  24. It would depend if you are a 4 stroke guy or a 2 stroke guy I would trade if it looks good and runs good. good luck let us know what you do
