  1. I have a 33PWK non airstryker , and a Graydon 2-1 intake manifold . Does anyone have a similar set up and what main and slow jet are you using? My elevation is below 500 feet . And is the slow jet the same as the pilot jet? My current main jet is a 158 and the slow jet is a 78 .
  2. I'm in a time crunch , I want to go to dunefest this year and get in some riding . So my budget doesn't have the room for re-sleeving at this time . Well Maybe bur I doubt it . The time sert kit is 56 bux versus 42 for the helicoil kit , not a huge difference . Plus it comes with enough inserts to do all 8 if they ever need it .
  3. No not going to resleeve the cylinders until next time . As far as the repair goes I am 1st going to try and use a m6 tap and clean up the threads and see if that helps . I was able to get a screw to thread in at the proper angle and engage but it keeps wanting to wander back to the bad angle . So I'll just chase the threads 1st . I have heard of the timeserts but have no experience with them , I'll check it out . A Helicoil kit for that size is 42 bucks , it's gotta be done right . I'll see what I come up with .
  4. I had a airleak and it damaged my left piston , cracked it . Pulled the cylinders and found out that I need to have them bored to .100 over . No big deal they make kits for that size and it will last me several riding seasons . Here's my problem . The left cylinder , the inner bottom tapped hole for the intake boot ( although I have changed to a 2-1 intake ) is jacked up . I can get the socket cap screw to thread in but it threads in at the wrong angle , almost like the previous owner got it jammed in there and tightened it and screwed it up . Has anyone ever had to helicoil one of these holes? I'm considering doing it , you kinda get only one shot at it though . Any other repair options? I guess as a last resort I could just not put a screw in that one and just go heavy with the gasket sealer and make sure it cures 48 hours before running it .
  5. I had the pistons measured today and they mic out to be 66mm , I'm gonna have the cylinders mic'd Monday and make sure their iant any further issues . As long as they measure out ok I'll Just do a piston / gasket kit and get a few trips to the dunes and next year resleeve / buy cylinders . I'm sure it was due to my jacked up air leak . At .080 over , is there the tendency for the cylinders to be ( ) shaped? Thanks for the help guys .
  6. I had a air leak crack a piston skirt , so i'm gonna buy a new piston kit and gaskets to put it back together . The Pistons in it are Wiseco Pro-X . I don't have a precision caliper to measure the piston . The Casting marks are Pro X-31k , there is a 4 cast between the intake ports and on top of the piston there is a 200 stamped on the top of the piston . The cylinder walls look fine , the left side had a air leak that put a crack in the skirt . I can tell that the left side got hot due to the airleak cause the top of the piston is black , good thing I shut it down when I did because If the skirt broke off I'd be looking for a new crank . if anyone can ID the piston size I'd appreciate it . I'm gonna get a caliper tomorrow or at least borrow one to double check .
  7. So the stock stator can run up to a pair of 35 watt bulbs? That's good , what about the tail light? I was gonna run a small round red light that's maybe 5w total .
  8. Just switching to pods and you will notice a difference but you will need to rejet , anytime you make a change to the intake of the engine you MUST make sure you are getting enough fuel/oil to protect it . The oil ratio doesn't change , but if you increase airflow , you must increase fuel to compensate . I also suggest if going to pods , use UNI dual stage foam filters and outerwears pre-filters . That's the best protection you can have for your 2 stroke .
  9. Has anyone here used those lights from from walmart called " Platinum Burners " on their banshee? I'm doing a budget build , need to get done by Dunefest and need some lights for night riding . I had a set on my blaster and they worked good . The Blasters stator could only run the 20 watt bulbs . They also have 25 watt bulbs , can the stator on the banshee run those ? What is the stock output of the banshee stator?

  11. I use glow sticks , snap shake and repeat until desired hover effect is achieved ...
  12. you can't just " Cut " it off and connect a line , its a single piece and the odds are that if you try you will destroy a perfectly good shock and cause injury to yourself . The gas it is charged with is under high pressure , and the reservoir and body are filled with oil. It would be a waste of time , money and braincells.
  13. Bottom line is you need to CYA , I've been ripped off and it don't feel good so I learned how to spot a liar and a thief . I won't buy anything without getting a tracking number , and I get as much information about the seller as possible . Only use Paypal and DON't send it as a gift . I got ripped on a set of Nerf Bars on ebay a few years ago , pissed me off sumthin fierce . I win the auction and I get contacted that his Paypal wasnt working so I sent a Money Order ( never again ) and it was screwed from there . I spent 6 months calling him at 2am on his cell phone and cussing his ass out and calling his work and telling his boss he was a thiefif he didnt live on the opposite coast I would have paid him a visit . End all be all was I'm still out 75 bux and its My fault for breaking my buying rules but overall he's the kind of prick that fux it up for everyone . I would have liked to see the 50 post count stay , but he is the HNIC so be it .
  14. Try www.kalecoauto.com They have hard to find automotive items like that
  15. I've been getting the polishing bug too , I'll have to get set up to try it out . I'd love to polish my thumb throttle , Clutch cover , exhaust etc etc . Yeah post up some pics of your equipment and maybe do a how to for us newbs that would like to learn . Major Respect on that shine bro , Great Job .
  16. Yep , just where I found one yesterday , it fits the manifold perfect . I had to gently heat it so it will fit over the slightly larger carb outlet , it should be done . I did that last night by heating the sleeve with near boiling water and a socket shoved into one end . I gradually heated it several times so It wouldn't split the boot , the outlet on the carb is a 1/8" bigger than the intake inlet O.D. so nothing really drastic .
  17. Yeah that would be simple and EZ , Keepin it simple works for me
  18. I scored a Graydon 2-1 intake manifold and I am wondering where I can source a rubber carb connection . The o.d. Of the intake inlet is 1.5" ( 38mm ) , and the o.d. Of my carb outlet is slightly bigger at 1-5/8" . I've been searching for universal connections with almost no luck . Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places . Anyone have a suggestion ? LMK
  19. That's great , I'll pm you with some details , thanks again !
  20. That looks good , If you aren't in a huge rush to unload it , I could scare up the cash in a couple paydays . LMK your timeframe and maybe it will work out for me . I'm on a budget and this totally fits my budget .
  21. As the title says , need a +4 swinger for the stock style carrier . LMK
  22. I've been thinking about the red upper arms , I think I'll try it . Next year the whole thing is going to get powder coated , new scheme , just wanting to get it together for dunefest this year and play in the sand . Yeah the plastics on my shee were in terrible shape when I got it , plus the one industries retro grafix kit was put on with a industrial super adhesive that took 2 months to remove . Then sanding and shaping by hand got them looking presentable . I'd never done that before and I wasn't too worried because what I had to start with was a nightmare , no way it could get worse . I think overall they turned out nice .
  23. Well input is input , thanks for the positive comments 4 mill , I appreciate it . The blue seat will become all black when I install the gripper cover , and originally it was gonna be 100% matte black but of course things change along the way . I like the " Stolen Sleeper " comment and yeah it kinda has that look to it . If your not liking it , that's cool with me I'll get over it . And that's an electric water heater , thanks for being concerned .
  24. I finally remembered to post some progress pictures , by the end of March I plan on having it back to a full rolling chassis . The +4 Swingarm is next , and a Pair of YFZ front shocks will take care of that . If you have any laying around ( +4 swinger or YFZ piggyback shocks ) LMK if they are for sale .
  25. That would be great if you could do some R&D , I'd appreciate it . And if you wanted to see the shocks go by by , I don't know what your lookin for cash wise , LMK maybe we can deal .
