  1. I would progressively drill out the center of the broken heim until you could get a large easy out into it , soak it in PB Blaster ( or one of my old tricks is soak it in coca cola ) for several Hours and then use a impact to free it up .
  2. I saw another post mentioning ditching the coolant Rezzie , if I'm running a .020 over stock bore and stock stroke , and I'm jetted on the rich side ( to protect the motor ) can I ditch the Rezzie? I'd prefer to , to clean things up as much as possible .
  3. So I made these aluminum mounting blocks for my new lights , I drilled and Tapped the blocks and they fit up great! What do you think?
  4. With the bike on the ground , sit on the bike and have someone measure the sag . Use a piece of rope to pre-load the bike by tieing it to the grab bar and the lower shock mount , then install .
  5. OK the pics I loaded from my phone didn't work . Here we go , I scored a bunch of parts , I'd like to thank member tedd1 for the +4 swingarm hook up !!!! Ok kind of a mish mash of pictures . The black nerf nets I made from The same material the nets are made of , but I got the material from a fabric store for under 6 bucks . The liquid stitch glue is a water proof glue that dries clear , I still need to sew the crossings with a heavy duty nylon thread on the machine . Budget Build to the end baby!!!! More to come !!!! The lights are from Wally World with 35 watters swapped in , and the aluminum blocks are the mounts , I have to finish drilling and tapping them .
  6. Update!!! I got me some parts , Thanks to Tedd1 for the +4 swingarm deal! [/img] Plus my new paddles [/img] [/img][/img] Swing arm And my home made repaired nerf nets More to come!!! It's coming together
  7. Can you send me pics of the cylinders? I'm interested . Email to [email protected] Thanks
  8. Here in Wa state they finally passed a bill that allows the use of ATV's on public roads . There are several limitations but as far as the quad you are required to have a license plate , insurance , and lights mirrors and turn signals . I'm going to get the parts to get my shee street legal so when I want to take a cruise around for some fun , I can ride the shee. Check where you live and see what laws govern it . You may find the proper way to do it so your shee doesn't end up in the impound yard .
  9. You're going to want a longer swinger +4 or bigger . All that power you gotta put to the ground wants to bring up that front end and when doing hill shots , you need to keep the fronts down , and the longer swinger will do that . I also run the 2-1 carb set up , easier maintenance for me . Less to go wrong too
  10. Yeah , theoven cleaner needs to sit on it for awhile to break it down . Soak some paper towels in the oven cleaner and lay it on the pipe . Let it work on it for 30 minutes then go after it with the steel wool .
  11. Oven cleaner and steel wool , may your elbows provide the grease young skywalker
  12. I run a single UNI dual layer with a Outerwears , K&N is a very good filter , but doesn't protect as well in extreme off road conditions . The UNI foam is designed to force the intake air ( and the dirt ) to take multiple paths through the filter , not a straight path . That " Cavitation " causes the dirt to get trapped in the foam cells and the filter oil traps it . I know everybody has their own opinions and preferences , but when it comes to a top end that costs me a couple hundred bucks to fix , I'll buy a UNI as a little bit of Cheap Insurance . I just bought a new one yesterday online for 13.44 plus free shipping .
  13. Sounds great , also sounds like your gonna be changing some things as well . You are right about the K&N filters . Swap them out for UNI filters ASAP .
  14. Glamis Gone Wild , Crusty Demons ...
  15. You got any pics of how you mounted them? Stock location is what I was thinking , but need to come up with a bracket .
  16. Yep , when we go riding at the dunes we chain the 4 quads together with a couple chains and locks that would require a .357 to open . And I generally blue loc tite my wheel nuts on and the hub nut as well . A couple years ago at Florence there was some guys camping next to us and they were continually eyeballing our groups bikes. The last night there we usually go to the casino for buffet and sure enough we got back and my buddies 400ex seat was gone . At that time I still had my blaster and it also had some spendy parts , but nothing they could simply just lift off . They were packing up to leave and I just knew they were dragging ass until we pulled out for dinner.
  17. I bought a set of Wally World " Platinum Burners " and replaced the 50w with 35w bulbs , will I have enough juice to run a tail light as well? Was thinking of using a r1 style LED tail light and use one of those Load resistors to protect the led from voltage spikes from the stator . any problems I might run into? I thought about getting the LED bulbs for the head lights and use the load resistors for them as well . I know Wally lights aren't the best , but for right now they will work until I can do a DC conversion .
  18. Really sick !!!! My daughters favorite monster truck is the digger , she's gonna love this! Is that paint or pc on the frame?
  19. Yes the " Boost " bottle is just a holding tank , more volume than the crossover tube . Little to no performance gains to be had . Helps with Idle and Just off idle throttle response , smooths things out a bit . Junk it .
  20. UNI 100% all the way . The dual layer pod filter with a outerwears is the only choice . The UNI uses multi directional foam that traps dirt better , far better . K&N is a good on road racing filter , but for harsh off road racing/riding , UNI is really the choice .
  21. If the threads were repaired , what would these cylinders be worth ? Being that they are currently at .080 over ?
  22. N2 , yes I have been staring at that tiny edge that runs the inside of the intake and wondering if the insert has enough room . The really good news is that I found a set of stock bore cylinders for 200 bucks . My builder has them on the shelf . He said they are at 64.25 (.010 ) and he will bore them to 64.50mm ( .020 ) . Plus it will fall into my budget so things are looking up .
  23. I did some digging on the site today , and I think I found a good starting point and range to be In . 185 Main 55 Pilot EEK Needle 4th down from the top I appreciate the help , I'm gonna start here and get it fine tuned. My motor set up will be a 64.50mm bore , mild dune port stock stroke stock head .
  24. I see on eBay I can buy stock bore sleeves for my jugs . 160 bux for the set . I'll talk to my builder and see what he will add on to slide them bastids into place .
  25. Also my current exhaust is a motofast 2-1 . Bore size will be .100 over ( unless I find some fresher cylinders ) .
