  1. Sounds like rider and set up issues
  2. I run it in my yfz450 when it's a little warm at the dunes (glamis or gordon's well beginning/end of the season) vs dropping a main jet. I'm jetted rich unless it's the middle of winter at night though. Definitely makes a difference IMO.
  3. +8 all the way. I've ran banshees w/ stock, +4, +5, +6, and +8. The longer you go the less fun it is to dune, but should avoid you cracking you tail bone again. Get well soon!
  4. With stock pipes you aren't lean based on your elevation IMO. Sounds like it's time for a rebuild due to the difference in PSI in both cylinders. I recently had a buddy w/ similar problems and it ended up being bad crank bearings causing the issue and somehow it was throwing off the timing. So I guess you could try a different plate and play around with it, but most likely that isn't the cause.
  5. Not sure of your elevation, but it sounds lean on the main
  6. I use it in my 04 yfz450. I've yet to do a top end on it and it's still as strong as when I bought it. Can only be the quality oil is my guess.
  7. Sorry no party number, but just take the old one and eyeball it. The one i found was round, but the diameter and hole in the middle was spot on. Just trimmed it up from there and put a thin layer of RTV.
  8. I recently had to replace my pingel rubber gasket due to a leak and I just went down to the local ACE Hardware store and found a rubber gasket that had the same size hole and then made my own screw holes. I put a little rtv for a leak proof seal also. Worked like a charm.
  9. You can buy them directly from Works for Works rezzis
  10. I've ran them all and at the same dunes you'll be hitting. With as long as Oldsmobile is 10 paddles with 60 hp (on the conservative side) is a bit much and a lot more work in the dunes. If you're going to Gordon's or Buttercup the hills are shorter and you can get away with more paddle and not sacrifice top-end. I run a 21x12x8 9 paddle extreme right now, but will be getting a set of 22x11x8 12 paddle triple buff extreme for my cub this summer. To each their own though.
  11. The best all around paddle would be a 21x12x8 or 22x11x8 8-9 paddle unless you don't race and just strictly dune and even then these work just fine. There are sets for sale all the time here locally on Craigslist- keep your eyes open
  12. You seem to have set up several 421 cubs. I still have the 35mm carbs on my recently drag ported cut, but am ready to finally buy some 39's. What do you suggest I start with jetting when I switch over. With the 35's i'm at 182 main, DGK (don't remember the clip), 55 pilots. Prior to the drag port I was at a 168 main, and a CEL needle.

  13. I have one on my yfz450 due to bending my stock axle...never had any issues w/ the g-force...and if I remember correctly it has a lifetime warranty
  14. Let us know how you like the 21's compared to the 22's- I have the exact 21's right now, but thinking about going w/ a 22 SLS 10 paddle extreme since I'm mainly riding my banshee at the drags these days.
  15. Make sure that black tube, that goes between the stock carbs, is on. It's a common mistake and actually fits your described problem. Let me know.
  16. My only suggestion then would be to take that intake off and put the stock one back on and confirm the issue stops. I think in a different post you said you took the carbs apart to clean, etc?
  17. Your main is too high for your mods and that elevation....the pilot also.... but you said it ran fine and idled fine previously with the same jetting?
  18. Might as well sell those 20's. Once you try both out you'll see exactly what these guys are talking about. I've ran pretty much every kind of paddle and would never run a 20 inch tire, especially on a 10 inch rim, again. Even on my bolt-on yami 450 I run 21x12x8 8 paddle haulers to dune and race. Put those 22's on and don't look back....exact at the competition- LOL
  19. I set mine at 4.5 at my house and then depending on how the sand feels I either leave them or drop to 4. I don't suggest going below that or you might spin the bead
  20. You can't go wrong w/ the standard buff 21x12x8 8 paddle haulers
  21. No don't cut your outerwears... there is a small area just above where the frame comes down and meets the cross member for the shock support... it almost perfectly lines up to the back of the filters...In the past i've used zip ties, but eventually used a long piece of velcro to wrap around the frame and snug up against the back of the filters. Never had a problem after that when I had stock carbs w/ pods
  22. Sounds like a bent shift fork maybe???
  23. It's been a while since I've owned a banshee with stock carbs, but I believe 99% of those out there leave the pilot jet stock... needle in the middle clip (stock or a thinner one).... and the main in the 290-300-310 range with this exact same set up. That should be pretty spot on and then you just mess with the a/f mixture.
  24. Ya i've never been a fan of dropping gears even on a bolt on banshee, but I always launched those in 1st. I just want to make sure it's set up close to "ideal" so I don't have to mess with it a lot down in the sand.
