  1. I think i will try the dremel idea on it, it seems to be the best option, and thank you everyone, you guys give great advice, keep it up.
  2. Hi, i took my swingarm off to replace the bearings and chains slider, i removed the right side bearing just fine, but as i was pounding out the left one, the needles and lip broke off of it, and left just the smooth outer ring stuck in my swingarm im thinking about sawzalling most of the way through it and breaking the ring so i can press it out, but im not quite sure, does anyone have a better idea? thanks guys.
  3. not to be that guy, but my personal choice is MAXXIS RAZR's they handle AMAZINGLY, you can break them loose at will, and they get massive traction to, just my 2 cents.
  4. I was originaly going to run twin pipes, but my rebuild is on a serious budget, lol and i got the pipe and silencer for 70 bucks in good shape, so i couldnt pass it up because anything is better then stock and for that little it was worth it but in the future i will get pro circuits probobly.
  5. Because im pretty much broke right now, my shees going to be not that modded I split my cases and rebuilt the engine with new everything, except the tranny which was in good shape, all new seals, WSM forged pistons, adjustable timing plate, RICK's hot shot cdi box (more agressive curve), Motofast 2 into 1 pipe and silencer (the choice of gncc banshee guys), billet water pump impellar, high compression clutch springs, pro series reeds, cut air box lid (i ride trails so i have to keep the lid), 260 main jets, 27.5 pilot jets, needle 3rd clip, air screw 2.5 turns out. My bike also has yfz 450 a arms and shocks which made it about 4 inches wider and 1 inch longer. thats my setup, and my riding is mostly trails, and personal tracks.
  6. Nice, that seems like it would have some real low end and mid range compared to stock, and im also running yfz 450 front shocks, but mine are on yfz450 a arms. how do you like the g force rear axle? i was thinking about getting one but hesitated at the low price and was wondering if the quality is okay.
  7. Holy crap, 400 bucks??? ive been looking for a deal like that around here for forever, i almost got a tecate 3 with a durablue axle, +2 swingarm, pipe and silencer, etc for a grand, but still thats a killer deal, never let that thing go
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL9mj-YHsZ0 Is this you man? sick shit, whats your setup, suspension and motor wise?
  9. lol, i know shees kill out in the dunes... too bad im in the backwoods of ny state lmao, 75% of my riding is hardcore trails, the other 15% is a mixture of friend's tracks and shale pits. My friend with the best track is also the friend with the 250R and an excavator, so he can build and practice whatever he wants, and i ride there often, just deff not as much as he does.
  10. lol i wish i could afford both but right now im struggling just to get my banshee together well that answers my power question, although the 86 250r i rode is my buddys that i go riding with often, and its basicly a full on race quad, im still having trouble picturing my banshee being that fast or handling that well, lmao anyone know how tecates are?
  11. lol when it blew up it was dead stock and didnt have pretty much anything thats in that picture, that pic is from about mid way through the build, it looks much better now. I was talking about in general, ive ridden many quads and 250Rs are impressive overall, how will a properly running banshee compare?
  12. hey, ive only gotten to ride my shee a few times before it tore itself apart, and it was dead stock then, i was just wondering how banshees compare to 250Rs and other 250s like LT250Rs of tecate 4s. ive ridden my friends 86 250r bored to somewhere near 290cc's and aftermarket everything (lonestar swingarm, axle, a arms, works shocks, and everything inbetween) and ive ridden mostly stock LT250Rs and both were very impressive compared to my banshee, how do you think a properly running banshee would compare?
  13. When i got my 93 shee the guy gave me a clean set of YFZ450 a arms and shocks, and anything was better then stock, so i did the swap and it cost me only 45 bucks for Polished NOSS +2 tie rodds from the for sale section The set up makes the quad about 4 inches wider, 2-3 inches lower, and 1 inch forward, and for 45 bucks i couldnt resist, if i had to buy everything i would have just got full flight arm and works shocks, but this was very cheap and worked, lol
  14. yeah, lol their motor work is overpriced, and you have to get it as a kit so its expensive If i had a 250r or LT250r i would deffinitly take it to them tho, because they have 25 years of experience working on them and a reputation. I have a 2002 ATV action banshee pipe test with 10 pipes and their Paul Turner mid range and high rev pipes were rated fairly high.
  15. hey, i know Duncan Racing used to be the shit with 250r's. i was just wondering how their banshee stuff compares, thanks guys.
  16. Thanks guys, i think im going to just try to beat it out, and find a way of heating it up without burning down the barn, lol
  17. i dont really have a means of heating it up, and its coated in bolt loosener in my barn thats made of wood, so a propane torch just sounds like a bad idea, lol
  18. hmmm, im not sure if theres room to cut it out without damaging the frame or swingarm, although i may try it, and yeah its an older bike (1993) and i doubt the swigarm has ever been off.
  19. Hi there, i need to take my swingarm off to put in new bearings and a chain slider, so i took the nut and washer off, and the bolt will rotate in the frame but not come out, so i tipped the quad up on its side and soaked everything in bolt loosener, and then used a bolt and fender washer in the hollow hole to protect the bolt while i hammered it out, but it wont budge, ive hit this thing with some real force from a 4ft sledge hammer, and its really stuck , any ideas and help would be apreciated, thanks
  20. Hi, i bought a kicker gear and kicker lever from Outfront Performance and i would recomend him to anyone, his packing was very good and the price was great, great seller.
  21. i sent the payment for the kicker asembly and shifter.
  22. okay, sounds great, can you pm me your paypal adress? thanks
  23. how much would you sell the shaft, spring spacer and the clamp from the kicker for? thanks also, you wouldnt happen to have a good shifter lever, would you?
  24. when you say kicker assembaly, do you mean just the kicker lever, or the lever, clamp and shaft with gear? thanks, pat.
  25. okay, i really understand the money part too, my shee let loose while i was riding at night, and the crank cut through my left side cylinder, and both cases, the piston blew into a million little pieces and took out everything in its path, and wound up in the pipe. If you are decent mechanicly then you can rebuild your motor on your own, banshees are actually quite easy to split the cases on because they have upper and lower cases instead of left and right like most dirtbikes, all you need to do is have a decent set of tools, a flywheel puller (about $15), and an impact gun, just remember to take your time and be VERY VERY CLEAN! it pays off to do it yourself, you save alot of money, and you also have a better understanding of your motor. Also, instead of getting a billet timing plate like you mentioned which are about $100 from pro design, get a ricky stator one for $35, which does everything the pro design one does, and with the money you saved from that you can get a high flow water pump impellar which will not break like the stock plastic one, and will make your shee run a litlle cooler which is needed once you bump the timing, because with more timing comes more heat, good luck, and have fun.
