  1. If you can remember individual prices that would be better. The reason Im asking is I have a bad eye and so I would like to get as much light as possible for night time riding. Plus I kind of like how it looks? Also can you set it up to charge the battery or do you have to charge it yourself?
  2. Snop how nuch did it cost you to make that set up?
  3. You also need to make sure the head isn't warped. It most likely will be since it was ridden this way. Good time to get a cool head though. When you torque the head it goes in steps. I'm not sure what they are but something like 7 13 and then 20. If you do it straight to 20 you will have problems.
  4. It does sound like an air leak. Did you put that vacum hose between the carbs back on right? Crossover tube back on good?
  5. Vitos sell the outerwear lid for $22. It the same material as an outerwear it just covers the airbox. I don't know how to make a link but just go look under air filter and its in there. Its called a box lid outerwear. btw the outerwear isnt going to fix the issue if your filter is loose. Do what sheefreak said
  6. If you have more trouble with it check the adjustment on the throttle position sensor. I know of other injected quads have issues with them coming out of adjustment. If the throttle cable is out of adjustment it can mess with it too.
  7. If the threads are bad you could probably just drill them out and put a longer bolt with a nut on it. I have had to do what the last guy said before too. If you go new the roll designs are nice too.
  8. I was assuming you were looking for new stuff. It seem weird that you can find more for a quad thats been made for 6 years then one that was made for 20. I havent really looked at used suspension prices I am happy with what I have. I think i would just have yours rebuilt. It seems to be the common opinion that works is a great alternative on a budget. Plus you know they, you will most likely save money overall and you can get them set up for your weight and riding style. Just my opinion.
  9. I run them on my banshee and my old quadracer had one. It gets wet and muddy here and I haven't had a problem without a prefilter. Obviously I don't hit the puddles too hard or if their deep. The biggest thing is cleaning. I have to clean after every trip. (I am getting some also just have been to lazy to go measure my filters) As already stated get them with outer wears and you'll be fine. They are supposed to help keep water out also. If I were you I wouldn't get one of the angled ones just to prevent mud/water from being splashed directly on the filter. Pat you can also get an outwear that replaces the lid. Wont fix the filter issue but will help keep the airbox and your filter cleaner. Ive seen them for about twenty bucks.
  10. I might be missing something here but if you are buying aftermarket what do you have to gain by going with aftermarket yfz over aftermarket banshee? Just curious.
  11. I would think they do. DG is generaly cheaper but Ive never heeard anything bad. Bolt heads sticking out would be bad. I would check on their website or have the people selling it check. The ones i have are cheap, no name anywhere on them, probably from ebay (dont know came on it). It uses allens and are recessed. Worst case do what ak said and do it yourself. A couple bucks for the screws and a couple minutes to drill.
  12. try new spark plugs. Even though they spark they can still be bad. They will fire outside but not under compression. Had a no start issue on a bike and it had good spark. Spent hours chasing the problem and decided to try good plugs and it fired right up. May not be your issue but its worth a try
  13. I would check the radiator cap too.
  14. Theres a whole how to write up on tors removal. Everything you need to know is in there.
  15. So you guys suggest aftermarket or getting the stock one done? I think ill keep the stock stroke if not I'll go aftermarket. Just not sure how far Im going take this.
  16. Thanks for the help. I did read that thread after i made this one. Im assuming your point is the noss or chariot because those seem to be the only two that were sugggested and not complained about. Thanks for the advice I apreciate it thats what i was after.
  17. Im going to get the modquad from Alf. Hes giving me a pretty good price.
  18. Thanks for the post. Ive been wondering about squish angle but that answered all of it for me.
  19. Im actualy going to do the same. I wouldnt go up to much for the rear. Simply because of the ground clearance.
  20. Thanks for the advice. Mine is in good shape for now but Im definitly going to get either an aftermarket or get the stock one taken care of. Probably a winter project since the rebuild is taking all i have for cash and then some. The life of an enthusist huh?
  21. I agree the chariot one looks good. I might go with the on from F.A.S.T. They are made by noss but to F.A.S.T. specs and a decent price. Anyone know the difference between the noss and what they make for F.A.S.T.?
  22. James when you say pulled apart what exactly do you mean? Im assuming seperated means the same.
  23. How much can one take without being welded? When my rebuild is done Ill be at 65mm with Vitos superstock and Im hoping to do a head with 20 or 21 cc domes. Im also doing reeds (unsure on what yet), and already have t5s and no airbox with k&ns. Im just wondering how far i can go before I need to worry about the crank. A new crank is in the future just not the budget at the moment.
  24. So many options and they all claim the same things so Im wondering what the best way to go. I like Vitos hemi head 2 from what Ive seen so what does anyone who used one think? My biggest concern is the function( the cooling and the domes. Seems some are made weak.) Im open to any of them just want to see what people have experienced with any of the aftermarket heads.
  25. Good to know I thought it was 64 even because everything say 64 is standard. On vitos site there is a link on the bottom left below where you choose what quad youre buying for. It say something like whats the difference between power and super stock. Im about to tear it apart right now so I'll decide on the size once i get it open. For all I know it could be bored out. We'll see. Thanks for the advice I'll see if I can find that thread. My friend got a box full of parts given to him so Im going to try and find some go fast stuff in there too.
