Well I put Yamaha brand 20w 50 in the other day guess I'll run it a few times and switch to the ATF type F tranny oil.

Yea so far it's been a blast to ride. I would have never thought the powerband would be so violent when it hit. It's unreal to say the least. I plan on putting a Toomey T5 exhaust on it along with shock shaved head, 4* advance and some ITP GNCC tires. Just bought a kick start rebuild kit, chain and F/R sprockets, and new plubs. Anyone running synthetic golden spectro two stroke oil in there gas mixture? I was told by the dealer that this is some of the best stuff out there. What ratio should I mix my fuel?

Thanks for the info guys. I wasnt sure if my lowend jetting was off or if it was just how the engine was. Right now I have 25 pilots and 290 mains (mods in my sig) but the temp out side is still around 40-60 right now. When if warms up I'll change my jetting.

Hello, I'm new to the banshee and two stroke engines all together. I have always been a four stroke guy so I dont know sit abot a two stroke. Where does the powerband kick in at? After about 1/4 throttle my banshee takes off like a bat out of hell. I'm talking jurk the bars out of my hands hard. The power is almost like the engine has a on off switch. This sound normal or do I need to play with the jetting?

I went to the dealer the other day and talked to a tech abt what oil to run in the tranny case. He told me to just run normal 20w 50 yamaha wet clutch engine oil is this right? I keep reading about guys running ATF in there case are we talking about ATF car transmission fluid? Then mix that with 10w 30 motor oil? Witch two stroke oil should I mix in my gas and what ratio? I bought some synthetic Gold Spectro two stroke oil. Any one try this stuff before?

Okay thanks for the info. One more question what tranny oil do I run? Can I just use normal Yamaha engine oil? What weight do I get.

So your saying the stock stroke Hotrods crank comes already welded and true? Or you talking abt a dif crank?

Yes your right my carbs were out of synch just a hair. That is fixed now and shee is still smoking more on the left exhaust. Should the A/F screws be set the exact same cause they are right now but I was thinking about messing with the right carb A/F screw and see if that helps. I checked my plugs and they are a dull black/brown color, very clean, no carbon.

Hello guys, When fine tuneing the carbs with the A/F screw on the side of the stock carbs, when turning the screw witch way is fatter and witch way is leaner? At idle I have smoke coming from the left exhaust but not the right. My bike is a 95 shee with mods as followed 66.5 wiseco pistons stock head K&N filter, outter ware, no lid Boyesen reeds FMF good series exhaust ported and polished I'm not sure what pilots are in it but I seen the mains are 290's. Bike runs like a bat out of hell except for only side (left) blowing smoke and not the other. Well it will some but no where near as much. Should both A/F screws be adjusted the exact same or will they be different? How do I know if I'm tuned correctly? Also is getting a boost bottle worth the time or not? I have read before they help and some say they don't do shit. And last what tranny oil do I run along with witch 2 stroke oil is best. Thanks guys!

Little off topic but if a banshee is punched .100 over will that make the pistons 66.5 or 67mm?

Damn sorry to hear that man. Always remember you wanna have a nice amount of smoke comeing from the exhaust. Not alot but not a little as well. Look at it this was now you look get to built it bigger and better.

Looking for a 90-00 Banshee. Must run but doesnt have to be in grate shape. I'm not looking to but a all busted up, piss ran out of it quad but a good used one. Only looking to spend $1,000-$1,500 I live in Indiana and I don't care to drive far or ship. I will drive upto 300 miles one way. I must see pictures before I even think about driving out to see it. Let me know what you have.
