If the scratches are really fine, you can use a heat gun to CAREFULLY warm up the plastic which will smooth out the scratches. Yes you can buff plastics, i've been buffing the headlights on my cars for years. Works great

I love the way my white and black 2001 looks with all the stickers removed (except YAMAHA below tank). You could always paint a rad cover white. Just use lots of flex agent in the paint and clear

I have been cutting plastics for years and a jigsaw with a medium blade for making turns is by far the best, just tape it off first with wide tape and follow the line, With wide tape the plastic eont even get scratched. Then pass a cigarette lighter slowly over the edge to get it smooth again

I've ridden at -25 celcius and the lines dont freeze. You might freeze though. It's tough to jet for that temp.

We get insane amounts of mud here in the spring so i was thinking about getting an Interco Vampire for mud but this tire would probably give me huge traction in snow as well. Is a 22" really a 22? Or is it a 21?

Yes, its hard to jet for those temps so dont bother because you'll curse yourself for even going out to ride at those temps.The bikes dont ever really get to proper operating temp. Carbs freeze, you need to wear snowmobile gear including helmet. Thumb freezes after 4 minutes.......screw that shit. No more.

I bought one of those TURBONATOR things and now my Banshee can do at least 100mph.

I'm in Canada. Elevation 1250ft above sea level. It has been a very mild winter here. The bike is new and TOTALLY STOCK. I currently have 230 jets in it. It has been around -5 celcius or about 25 Fahrenheit. TO do the airbox i would need 260 jets? I would have flipped the fronts too but the valves will get torn on the brake caliper so not till i can redo the valves.

I guess going up three jet sizes is about right for the airbox lid removal setup? Has anyone experienced negative handling issues when flipping the rear wheels only? I'm on snow and ice now so its not really evident but are there issues in sand. It seems a little more stable in the trails like this especially in off camber rutted turns

My Banshee is new and I'm on a budget but would like any ideas on free mods such as airbox lid removal, flipping the rear wheels etc.... No I'm not cutting the ears off

I ride mostly wooded trails and sand pits and want a taller rear tire but wouldnt a 22" be a bit tall considering the front is a stock size tire? I need the extra clearance for ruts but dont want the front to be taller than the rear or does it even matter?

If you race on bare ice he wont have a chance. If theres a decent amount of hard packed snow, you may have traction issues and a tough time reeling him in in only 500 feet

I've been out at about -25 celcius on the lake and its too cold to enjoy. I find that my throttle thumb freezes too quickly even with deflectors. You really need a thumb warmer for that.

I've been running REDLINE 2 stroke Racing Synthetic in a few different machines and all my friends comment on the smell. It kind of smells like someone is smoking a crack pipe in the distance and you caught a slight whiff.

Supposedly the Redline can be mixed at 100:1 . All the local quad shops say that 32:1 is way too much oil unless you use cheap oil. They all swear by a ratio of 50:1 for the better oils. I've been mixing 50:1 in my Jetskis for many years without issues. My 92' CR 125 has been using the same as well. Is there anyone who has had failures due to this ratio? Redline is supposed to be very good oil.

I just got my first Banshee and have a few questions. I just want an opinion or two to set me straight on a few things. I live in Canada and love to ride in the snow and ice in winter. My machine is totally stock. I've installed 230 main jets to compensate for cold weather which should be good down to -30 celsius. Every now and then i get a pop from the exhaust. Is this because the machine is running a little rich with 230 jets? I've been using REDLINE 2 stroke racing synthetic at 50:1 mixed with 94 octane and a splash of Tactrol octane boost. Any opinions on REDLINE? It smells really good. I've been using it for years in my Jetskis with no issues. I was messing around one night and reversed the rear wheels to increase the rear track width. Is this going to cause handling problems in summer? Right now it only goes sideways due to winter so i cant tell if the handling is gonna be screwy when i get traction in spring. I ride mostly wooded trails and open sandpits in summer so the increased width in the rear would seem to be a good thing but maybe i'm wrong. Right now im still running the original Dunlop tires and am considering getting a pair of 4snow for the rear but i think they're gonna spin on the frozen lake just as much as the Dunlops do. Do they get traction on ice? I doubt it but everyone around here is telling me to get them. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi fellow freaks. I'm new to this Banshee stuff. I live in a small lakefront community just north of Montreal (Canada) and recently bought my first Banshee. Holy crap am i ever hooked. I can't stop riding this thing. A buddy of mine had a Shee that had honestly done no more than 3 tanks in its whole life when i was fortunate enough to scoop it up. Not even 2 scratches on it anywhere. So basically i ended up with a TOTALLY stock 2001 which is basically brand new. I can't wait to start modifying and consider myself lucky to have a stock machine to start with. I joined here because i can see that this is THE place for Banshee freaks and you people definitely have a wealth of knowledge and a strong membership. Glad to be on this board. We'll be speaking lots. Gonna go RIP the frozen lake behind my house now. Later
