  1. Powder coating is over rated if you ask me. It isn't durable at all and will get scratched and gouged quite easily. Rhino liner is as easy to apply as paint and way more durable. I would rattle can it flat black because its soooo damn easy to fix if you do scratch them up. Flat black just blends perfectly as long as you use the same paint. I learned my lesson with the rocksliders on my Nissan Xterra. They came powdercoated which scratched off easy. I Rhino lined them after but basically the same results. Now I have them in flat black (wheels too) because it literally takes 30 seconds to fix them when they don't look good anymore.
  2. Hey Holeshot, are you getting your bike back together? The trails are calling.
  3. I rode a friends Banshee today which had all the same components as mine however his had the single carb setup. Mine is original carb setup. He claimed it was a 36mm carb. His bike had more power on top end but mine had more down low. I would have thought the opposite to be true. His was definitely peakier and mine was better in the low range and had better response. Wierd , no? The throttle was easier to push but not that much better. Not enough to justify a swap to single carb. It just didn't do what I thought it would. Not a mod I would ever do. Am I nutz?
  4. I was in a local shop last week called QuadPro and they had a brand new unsold black/orange Banshee a 2008 i believe. There can't be many left like it
  5. To me it looked to be extrudehoned as well as ported. I did lots of port work allover my Mustang and all i'm saying is that extrudehoning was a nice complement to porting on my intake but that was a fuel injected motor. It all looks nice n clean to me.
  6. Based on how smooth that port job is, I'd say it was extrudehoned as well. This is a good thing. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Smooth ports are an advantage and show a dedication to good work which should say a lot about who did the porting. Otherwise can't really tell what type of port job it is. Looks good to me.
  7. Do Paul Turner high revs come in black? will these really bolt straight up to the stock silencers (without midpipe). Are they designed to be able to do so? People around here really hate 2 stroke noise but can't really do much if the authorities think it's stock.
  8. I am looking to run aftermarket pipes with my stock silencers so that I can get a power increase without pissing the local authorirties off too much. Which primaries will bolt up directly and fit stock silencers without having to McGuyver them to make it all fit? I would like to be able to put the stock pipes back if needed. Any ideas?
  9. A good buddy of mine installed a 20hp nitrous shot on his modified Jetski and nobody was able to hang on for more than 3 seconds without getting tossed. Do it.
  10. So i got back from a sick ride the other day and here is the verdict: Everyone who said I will need a gearing swap is right.....in theory. I had absolutely no problems at all. These tires took me to places I've never been able to go previously. I managed to climb very steep and long snow hills with ease. Mud, forget about it. These tires rock. Spinning them up in mud was easy. I was able to climb a hill which is usually not accessible to sport atv's at this time of year. I couldn't be happier. The difference in gearing is perceptable however it isn't enough to change the trailability of my machine. I guess it could be argued that I just increased my top speed......in theory.
  11. So the whole gearing issue was bugging me last night. I went to my garage to measure the overall height of my 20's and my new 22's. Guess what? the 22's are only 3/4 of an inch taller ! I was expecting a bigger difference than that. I'm not so sure gearing is gonna be a problem. Anyways i'm going out to ride shortly and I'll know for sure soon.
  12. Thanks guys. I have a set of 20's already but just scored a set of 22" Realtors to play in the mud with. I ride at 3/4 speed most of the time so that i can ride far and last long. These tires will be fun. Gearing won't be such an issue because I only use them on muddy days or snow. That was a great montage of racing pics. Really enjoyed those
  13. I plan on using them in spring (now) and next winter only. Holeshots or Razr wont let you get thru our trails in springtime. I know the gearing will basically suck but its that or stay home until it dries up a bit. (ya right) These tires are gonna rock in the snow. I tried some 4snow but wasn't impressed. I wanted more of a paddle tire so I could dig. I could care less if Holeshots or Razrs launch better on dirt because I ride muddy trails and huge sandpits. I ONLY PAID $100 FOR THEM NEW. I went and got some polished Douglas rims and it all looks fukin gnarly. Gonna rip it tomorrow for at least 2 tanks worth and enjoy some sun n fun.
  14. I'm only going to use them for very muddy days so I won't bother regearing.
  15. Winning a drag race is all about the launch. If you react better and hook well enough to get a jump, then it will take a much faster bike to come around you. Good tires are a big part of the recipe.
  16. I got really lucky and found them on a local online classified website. The guy had never gotten around to mounting them before he sold his machine. Wish I could be more help
  17. Just scored some 22" Realtors. Will these tires hurt or stress my stock Banshee in any way? They only cost me $100 new so i couldn't say no.
  18. Twist for my Honda CR and thumb for my Banshee. (the way it should be)
  19. Make your own and you will love it
  20. I bet an almost stock Banshee with a 170lb rider would easily beat a modified one with a bigger 220lb rider. So ya weight is a big factor. It would hook better with the gas tanks but the extra weight would be very detrimental in the turns as it would give more of the pendulum effect and swing around easier and faster. Not good
  21. I've been buffing the headlights of cars for years with great success. I also have a 3" orbital air powered high speed buffer which works plastic like a dream. Take your time and dont burn or melt anything
