  1. well i am guessing since you were running alky that you had pretty high compression to start with and you stock heads just werent cutting it. i would take your builders advice
  2. FINALLY!!!!! someone who wont bitch about a properly oiled k&n. haha
  3. start at around 300 and start it. see how it idles. if its bogging out with just idle and reving it out then your too rich. if it stays revved out for a while then your too lean.as soon as you get the jetting close by idle take her out and rip on her pretty hard and that is where you can fine tune you jetting. go out and ride it about three times or so to get it percise
  4. i was wondering how much power i could get with just a cool head too bump up my compression from 120 ish to around 150 and how i could lower my stock shocks if anything
  5. ok your welcome i think. i was really sure what you were asking in the first place but i think i understand now haha. nut as long as it runs like you want then ok. good luck
  6. they way my family and i jet our shees is we get it in the ball park just by idle. then we take them out for a few minutes of ripping on it really hard and depending on how rich or lean it is depends on where the next jet size is. i would start a little richer than what you think and go from there. with how your wierd setup is i would start with a 150 or so. and see how it idles
  7. basically your bore fits your pistons you dont buy a piston before your bore
  8. compression? and DAMN looks like you only put in a piston and a half haha. sorry for your lose
  9. my whole family runs the toomeys 4 through 6. i run the six but is completely stock. if you get it jetted it runs great for all around. if your wanting too stay stock then get the t 6. they have more power than the t5 in stock form. the t 5s like bigger mods more than the t 6s. now we trial ride ride dunes and even raced flat track. they are a great all around pipe. toomey first started in 1987 when the banshee first debuted . so its like an original piece.
  10. alright so i just was screwing around with some friends at our IMI race facility. it was a motorcross track flat track and a fewother random riding areas. so my friends and i were riding ( very competetive) and i was realizing i was pretty damn good. he was riding that famous 250 r ported and piped i helped re build it from ground up. and i was on my banshee with t6 pipes and jetting. i would smoke him off the line on the R but couldnt shift as well. on my banshee it would bog out when starting in second but once i got in moving and rpms up i could pull third through the corns and hit fith on the straights. i would just pull away. i was wantin more power and turnong capabilties. and would highly appreciate some help
  11. your cylinder walls look pretty thin so i would agree with getting new cylinders
  12. you can tell its ported. on the sides of the case on the transfer port if it was stock, there would be a bridge that would be wide and flat. the bridge has been lowered and reshaped
  13. GO WITH FOAM FILTER!!!!!!! if you can hold it up to a light you shouldnt be able to see light coming through. that means the holes are big enough for dirt to suck through
  14. according to elevation it will depend? anything too high like around 180 will cause your bike to melt down. whats your elevation?
  15. hey i am only 15 myself and recently aquired my own banshee. two strokes are easier to learn than a four stroke to start with. and they are pretty easy once you get the gang of it. if you have any questions let me see if i can help you out.
  16. Please copy and paste this along with your answers in your reply, thanks. 1) What type of aftermarket exhaust do you have? toomey t6 2) What type of airfilter do you have? stock filter 3) Are you a)running a stock airbox with lid stock airbox with NO lid c) Stock airbox with vents d) no airbox at all modified airbox 4) What is your elevation? (If you don't know, go here: http://www.topozone.com ) 3000 ish 5) What size pilot jets are you using? 27.5 6) What size main jets are you using? 280 7) What temperature is your Banshee jetted for? mild 8) Do you have a port job? stock 9) What kind of carbs? mikuni 10) What size carbs? 26 Thanks!
  17. i have only seen one banshee with LRD pipes and that was on youtube. has anyone had experience with them? i was thinking of upgrading from my t6s and was considering them to be unique in a way haha and they sound sick so any help?
  18. my opinion would be toomey t 5 or t6, cool head with 20cc domes for general riding elev. then new aftermaket carb needles( make it snappier and more crisp with noticeable power) or bigger carbs like 28 - 33s. reeds, filters such as pods or toomeys 2-1 setup. timing plate maybe. banshees thrive on small mods such as bolt ons
  19. i have the holeshot HDs on the rear and stockers in front and i hook up about everywhere. i ride in a pit that has a sand bed and it drags a little grabs the mud through the creek pretty well hooks up in the loose dirt very well and even hits the hard packed well too
  20. if you get up to 80 or 90 i would suggest having your cylinders coated with the same stuff honda has since they dont run sleeves. its i think is a type of nickle plating that is stronger than the sleeves. that way if you blow up or seize then you dont need to bore it out anu more you can just have it diamond honed and replated.
  21. i am meaning for example, could you run toomey or alba neeles in carbs other than stock
  22. what brand of lid for that price? i have seen them pretty pricy. like that k&n pro flow is around 120 bucks?
  23. get rid off the key setup. just connect the wires together that way you dont need a key and you still get spark. its not too hard. my dad did it to two of his shees. if somone was gonna steal the bike they wouldve taken the whole thing not just the key.
