my brother in law drove his legend to 270k miles. my buddies dad also has an old legend with 250+ i think you can expect 150k or better from an acura before any significant repairs.
i had a 97 lexus es300 that i bought for 10k drove for 5 years and sold for 2700 which was probably too low cause it sold in 4 hrs. no problems at all just reg maint. My cost per year was under $1500. Id take a look 99, 00, and 01 es300. Also used it to tow my yfz and 4x8 trailer and it towed great. Has good small v6 with good power. In 02 they went to bigger body and less sporty. I have that one 03 now and don't like it as much as the 97.
out of those id go TL or WRX. i bought new subaru in 09 as my first ever new car and its been great. several friends have TL's and they love them. RSX too small, TSX underpowered, 350z not practical, and TT is a chick car imo.
just put motor back in bike after pc'ing frame, motor wasn't opened up and ran good before. only new item is cool head with 20cc domes. had it started briefly on sat. but didn't run well, now won't start. has spark and plug smells of fuel.
while plugs were out kicked it a couple times, then put plugs back. 1st kick after that it wanted to fire then by 4th kick no go. leads me to belive its getting too much fuel.
carbs were just cleaned and floats set last night. jets are 27.5 pilot and 280 main at sea level with FMF pipes
any suggestions?
i bought a new gopro hero wide angle motorsport model camera off e-bay brand new for $115 shipped last summer. I have been very pleased with it.
If you go this route get an 8mb card and the software upgrade vs the 2mb the mfg recommends
here is a video i did with the camera
got a used cool head off dave5.0 installed it last week per mfg specs, with new o-ring kit. started the banshee for first time today since tear down and its dripping coolant out of the long studs. the coolant is showing up on the top of the stud around the nut and its a small drip.
Anyone have experience in how to fix this issue?
Also the service manual says it takes 2.64 quarts of coolant but after putting 1/2 that in the radiator was full & wouldn't take any more. I thought maybe after running it for a bit it would circulate and the level would drop in the radiator but that didn't happen. whats the deal?
