  1. Bought a used LSR axle off a guy on here and am ready to install it. It has the aftermarket LSR axle nut with the dual allen screws. My question is knowing the nut is aluminum how much should I tighten it down? I don't have the correct wrench so I plan on picking up a 24" crescent wrench and as you could imagine with a wrench tat size its easy to over tighten it. Also is there torque specs on the allens? Lastly should I use threadlock on the axle nut to axle connection? Thanks for your help
  2. Just found it was November 09 issue of DW but with the tools you need you'd be better off sending it to Greg's unless you plan to do more of them than just yours.
  3. There was an article in dirt wheels in 09 all about how to do it yourself shock rebuild. Check it out. Also you may try giving this place a call. A lot of local guys have this place do their re-builds. Right now he's charging $75 for the rear or $150 for all 3 for re-build. 8. That's a pretty good combo. Keep in mind the rears on the GNCCs run short so if you want a true 21" tire order 22", a buddy orderd 20" and the measured 19 and some change. If i was to get new trail tires i would buy the new ITP quadcross XC fronts and back. They are more versatile than the GNCCs
  9. save yourself a ton of time and aggrivation and just cut it out with sawzall and buy a new bolt for $30. I just went through the same thing and after 3 days of beating on it I cut it out in 10 minutes.
  10. I've got a hub i'd sell you for $15 shipped, its in good shape just needs cleaned.

Also the kicker on this motor rubs the top of the clutch cover so I think its a shorty. Its dented the cover so i would also like to get a std length kicker.

  15. dude i went through the exact same thing last week. worked on mine 3 days to get the swinger bolt out. i bought a rod to pound on, then a sledge and tried beating it out...no luck, then i bought a torch tried heat & beat...no luck. Then i decided to cut it out so i cut with snips and bent the dust caps back to protect the frame from the blade and cut between that cap and the swinger. In 20 minutes it was out. Can get a replacement bolt on ebay for $15
  16. We usually rent a "cabin" which is a double wide trailer that is within walking distance of the dune lot. Its pretty clean, has 6 beds, 2 couches and a pull out sofa bed. It rents for $150 a night. It can easily accomodate two 20' trailers in the front and another in the back. Its very safe, just throw a lock around your quad and no worries. There's a fire ring in the back for camp fires. Hit me up if you want the contact info. Oh also don't bother getting flags in advance, SL requires a special height just buy them there.
  17. i just picked up a 97 shee that needed the carbs cleaned and i had never done it before. i downloaded the service manual, completely disassembled both carbs, cleaned them with carb cleaner and a needle to get into the pilot jets and it worked perfect. i leared the hard way to install the throttle valve so the 1/2 moon faces the intake opening. other than that its very straight forward. i can get you the link to download the service manual if you need it let me know. that's a good price for a 98, i paid $1000 for my 97 but it had fresh top end, pipes & some other stuff.

  22. Anyone on here use one of these kits? Are they worth it? The 97 I am rebuilding has a lot of old rusted and crappy looking fastners. I would like the exposed fastners to look a little better. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140377612568&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-540pc-POLISHED-STAINLESS-BOLT-KIT-ATV_W0QQitemZ330397117070QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_ATV_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4ced33ea8e
