If the motor has been operational for some time with no issues then all the sudden you are pushing plugs out and there is no major changes in the environment you are running it in then you have an issue that has come up on the motor like an air leak, water leak, etc... If you could give some more of your situation about how long the motor has been together, elevation, temperature, etc. there are many here who can probably get you lined up with your problem in a short time!

Start it, pull the cable up on the top of the carb on the side thats not firing and see if it picks up. If no change, double check that the needles(metering rods) are infact in the right direction. Next, with the filter removed hit it with some starting fluid and see if it picks up. Report back

Do they still make the EGV's? I know there are still some around but didnt they out those? Im a fan of the resistor plugs, but if you have no aftermarket electronics they say the non's will work. Ive had good success with the EIX plugs but I dont know that they are necessary.
