  1. It isn't necessarily a rough ride, chances are if you are a drag racer/ hill climber you are running a stiffer shock any way. The no link set up changes the angle and position at which your weight transfer comes from. It is going to plant the rear of the bike out of the hole. There are so many aspects of chassis and suspension set ups that you are going to have to pick an swinger type and build your way around it with ride heights, shock pressures, tire sizes, gearing etc... There really is no right or wrong answer to what you choose, but there must be a reason that most of your drag and hill shooter chassis are built as a no link set up.....my 2 cents
  2. What chassis are you running? I prefer the no link on a drag chassis and a link on stock.
  3. All Fast-Fibers fenders and sets will be $25 off until August 31st. Orders can be placed through private message on the HQ or planet sand! Brad
  4. I sell fiberglass fenders, and I am also a site sponsor. Check them out at Fast-Fibers
  5. How much do you weigh? What kind of track are you racing on? What tires? All of these factors make a difference when it comes to suspension set up.
  6. There are several plastic cleaners and polishes out there including some produced by 3M and Meguiars that can be bought at your local auto parts store. Any paint polish or wax will work as well as paint is indeed a plastic itself. I wouldn't recommend wd-40 or any type of oil on your fenders, over time it can leach into the plastic and discolor them.
  7. I use safety wire. I have safety wire pliers to twist them tight and fold the tail under, you can use pliers to smash the tail into the rubber so you don't catch your hand on it. It is by far the easiest to install and change.
  8. Like Ryan said, using a quality compound will ultimately yield the best results, but the 3M compound at your local oreillys will do. The bottle will designate the contents as a cutting or finishing compound. There are also different types of polishers, rotary, orbital.... A rotary polisher is faster, but an orbital is safer for beginners because if you apply too much pressure it will stop spinning and start vibrating causing less friction, thus less heat.(my tool of choice is an pneumatic rotary polisher) Just like polishing anything whether it be metal, paint or plastic it is a step by step process that can be time consuming. Just take your time, keep the polisher moving, and keep compound on the surface. As a plastics engineer I have plenty of experience with plastic materials!
  9. Plastic is very soft so I wouldn't recommend anything rougher than 400 to start. Sand down until at least 1000. You will want to use a foam pad buffer with a cutting compound first and then a finishing glaze. Remeber to keep moving so you don't swirl the plastic by overheating it. I use a light mist of water along with my compound to prevent burning. As with anything take your time and pay attention and all will be great!
  10. Unfortunately drag bikes are not worth anywhere near what it takes to build one....It looks like you have a well built machine so I would list the complete bike for a set price and if you don't have any luck then part it out.
  11. Glad you are happy with them, be sure to get me pics when you get them done
  12. I am sorry to hear about your misfortunes....... all I can say is that next time deal with the HQ site sponsors, there may be a cheaper product out there but you are paying for quality and customer service. Tim at Stellar builds some of the best looking swing arms around at a reasonable price. Again, sorry about your luck and thanks for the warning!
  13. White fenders will definitely look good, and clean! Not sure about the white grips tho, might turn black over time. Here is a picture of a customers pink bike:
  14. I told my website guy to put it on there and he hasn't done it yet........ Alf are you running a stock grab bar or a subframe? Some of my fenders don't cover up the grab bar mounts as they were originally designed for drag only. I can do custom cuts though
  15. I will honor it and refund you! Still waiting for the check to arrive.
  16. Please check out the new fast-fibers website Fast-Fibers. Call or PM me and mention this post to receive $25 off individual fenders and fender sets until May 15! Thanks, Brad
  17. Two Brothers +2 aluminum swingarm for the yamaha TTR-50. Ridden only twice and decided to switch to a honda. Paid $329 new and would like to get $250 or possible trade for extended honda arm. Minor scratches from chain and first ride!
  18. I have used the vito's kit and it is a good kit, but if you can use a site sponsor I would suggest doing so.
  19. That works too. I like to be able to remove my key at the dunes when I leave the bikes out overnight.
  20. The bracket jds makes is the normal and best place to relocate the key. Very simple and looks great.
  21. Check out the new website, just came up today. http://www.fast-fibers.com/ !!!!
