Thanks for making a great arm for a great price! I picked this arm up "new/used" from the guy that bought it from you. It helps to have friends that can do this kinda stuff too. So, Long Hair Bobby, thanks for bringing you A game for my stuff!
-
Brandon, no sweat man! There are two people I never rush, my dentist, and my engine builder. I'd rather have it right than fast!
-
The rest of it is scatered around the shop, or at Wildcard Racing at the moment. It's nothing more than a naked roller at the moment. I'm going to get it back together and start figuring out the frame mods I want to do, and them break it all back down and send the parts to powder coat and polisher. Plans are black plastics except a red radiator shroud, red frame and chrome or polished.

No, a machinist friend of mine did the cut out and the engraving. The arm will be chrome! Is there any other colors the come in? LOL

This is my Stellar swing arm with a few mods done by a friend.

I'd guess that you'd see carb icing before your fuel line froze up.

Powder coating freshly bored juggs

I think they only heat powder to about 160*. That's no where neat hot enough to cause any problems with cylinders. -
+7 on the timing is kinda a lot of timing on gas. I'd back it down to +4 and work up when you get the jetting spot on. I trust that you did a plug chop with the new pipes on? The CPI's sould give you a great deal more over rev than the T-5's. It sounds like you just have a few tuning problems to get through. You may have to change gearing with the CPI's as well to pull the launch you want. Putting together a new engine and dropping it in doesn't mean that you have reached the end of the work. You have to tune the gearing to the new engine, and now the pipes. Through the winter on the oil huh? I be that it has some moisture in it, and when you got it good and warm it evap'ed out of the oil.

Oh....this picture has potential!
-
The jetting may have changed on you. Different fuels have different amounts of oxygen int them? I'd do another plug chop with the new fuel only in it and see. How long has the oil been in? It may have gathered some water out of the air?

Best money I have spent on brake bleeding! http://shop.oreillyauto.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=MTV&MfrPartNumber=MV8000&CategoryCode=3378

No, it's measured on the throat of the carb on the intake side. 26mm Mik's are stock. People up grade to larger carbs to let more air in, and get a better carb design . I happen to like Mikuni's my self, others like Keihin carbs.

Make some out of a cereal box, then do a leak down test to make sure that was the only leak.
-
Yeah man, sounds like it could be a head gasket. If your running a antifreeze it should smell kinda sweet. Another clue is to look at the plug, if there is water in the hole, the plug should look brand spanking new from being steam cleaned.

Have you checked the air filters? Have you done a compression check? -
T-5 maybe?

Your engine burns oil at all times, the piston rings don't remove all the oil from the cylinder walls, and the incoming fuel charge washes some ofit off and it's burned off during combustion. In limited quantity, 2 stroke oil will not cause damage to converter. Now if you want to fill half of your tank with the stuff, yeah that might be hard on it. All the converter does is burns the unused stuff in exhaust, the only way to trash them is to clog them with crap from combustion, or feed them un-burned fuel. There are ways to un-clog cats as well.

I normally feed my not so fresh fuel to the lawn mower. But yeah you could feed it to the truck in limited amounts.

Not REALLY Banshee related BUT

Let'n the lil guy trench up the yard, COOL! I dunno about your wife, but my ex-wife didn't think it was funny when I trenched our yard. Maybe it was the fact that she had to mow it? I told her the first time I had to mow they yard there would be a dump truck showing up with landscape rock. -

Big flat area with nothing to hit, and tell him not to whack the right grip to hard. Sit on the back if you can, and hold the ends of the bars at first, that way you can keep the throttle under control. Help him get it moving and just stand up and let him go. He's going to wreck it a few time, and loop it out a few times. The shift from a 50 to a 85 is a huge jump and till he gets used to the power band coming on it's going to feel really strange to him. I'd teach him how to fan the clutch to get into the band or he's going to wrap the throttle up to get it there, and when it comes up on the pipe it's going to come up hard. These lil bikes are dynamite wrapped into a motorcycle frame! -
Good to hear your doing better bro, as bad as it sucks, take her easy for a while and heal up right and get back after it.
-
Nice starts bro! You made a really gutsy move in that second heat and it turned out very well!
-
It would be the best bet man. Even if you got the old slug cleaned out of the hole, odds are that you damaged it bad enough to need a hone and re-plate. If your other cylinder is still in good shape, you should be able to just do that damaged cylinder, and run the other one as is. That will save you some money.
-
Go back to where you bought this, and kick the homo in the stones!!! Ok man, you got some work ahead of you. You need a new airbox, and maybe boots from the carbs to cylinders. You have to check them for cracks and what not. The crap on top of the carb caps it TORS, and it's a problem waiting to happen. Search TORS removal on here, and think about doing it. You need to go through the carbs to clean out what has to been sucked in to them when it was run with out a filter. For pipe hangers, hook up with Alf's Toy Box on here. He's got some nice stuff for sale at good prices. Think about doing a compression check to find out the health of the engine.
