Thanks for all the replies guys... Schuck's sells the exact same lights as Walmart but with 35w bulbs already installed so I might pick those up. And I like the idea of using spacers to mount them in the stock location, thanks for all the ideas guys! I'll try and post pics when I get them all mounted up wired up.

Hello, I was looking into picking up some of those Walmart lights for the 'Shee and after looking at how they mount, I was unsure of how to get it to work in my stock light location. They use a carriage bolt (the kind with the square in the hole so it doesn't spin), but I can't think of how to make that work in the stock position as the stock light has a bolt that runs through it sideways. If you guys could explain how it's done that would be much appreciated! And pics as always, are even better! Oh and yes I have run multiple searches, and google searches and I find a lot of info about using these lights.. But none about how to mount them. Kyle

WHAT RATIO FUEL TO OIL DO YOU RUN?
White97Banshee replied to stringbeanbowler's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
During break-in, 32:1 with Yamalube and normally 40:1 with Castor 927, but will be switching to Klotz Supertechniplate, same ratio. -
Vito's kit is only $5.95 bucks + shipping. This was the last kit I got with my new billet kicker and so far it's still doing good.

I just start ripping em off and whatever's left I blast it with brake cleaner and scrub it with a rag. Maybe that's why my bike looks like shit
-
Sorry I know this isn't what you were looking for but my fronts came cut completely like this. This pic was taken the day I bought it, so it still had the rears at the time.

I got all excited because I assumed I would see some sweet pictures of airbrushed plastics with awesome designs on them. But When I clicked the link there was none

Correct. .080" over is a 66mm bore.

Haha hell yeah. But after you get used to it and have tinkered with it a little while you'll find out how much simpler a carburetor is than an EFI system. There are great articles on this site such as the Jetting FAQ and how a carb works and such. You should read through the both of em and eventually you'll get to be a pro at working on your own bike. And yes, a Banshee is always gonna be badass, even bone stock. Mine's only got pipes, reeds, and k&n's and it walks all over the big bore 4 pokes with pipes and cams.

Cut 'em front and rears. And post pics of how they turn out!

Oh lol sorry I missed that part. Well to clean the carbs you take the clamps off of both the airbox and intake boots and remove the carb, then on the bottom of it there is 4 screws, 1 on each corner and they hold on what's called the float bowl. Pull that off and you should see a hex style screw thing. That's your main jet. Take that off with a socket or something and remove the piece of plastic under it. The piece of plastic goes into a hole with the pilot jet inside it. Put a small flathead screwdriver in that hole and unscrew the pilot and remove that as well. Spray carb cleaner in all the passages and through the jets. I personally like the pipe cleaners for like arts & crafts and stuff, get some that are small enough to fit through at least the main jet and push it through. This will remove all of the dirt and debris clogging the jets. After it's all cleaned out put it back together and repeat the process on the other one. Just keep in mind that when you put the carbs back together don't forget to connect the choke tube between the 2 carbs. It's the rubber hose that looks like a fuel line running between the 2 carbs and plugs into where the choke would go on the right side one. Sorry for the long ass description but I tried to explain everything in full detail for ya.

I would never take my 'Shee to a stealership unless I was very desperate. But like I said, just pull the carbs and clean em, pull the reeds and check em, and if neither of those work do a leakdown test. There's a thread on here somewhere about how to make your own leakdown tester, it's really quite easy. It will tell you if you have an air leak. Try those and let me know how it goes.
-
What mods are all done to it? I would start by pulling the carbs off and cleaning them, and pulling the reeds off and making sure it didn't suck a petal into the motor, and if neither of those fix the issue, do a leakdown test.

I need help on removing the parking brake electrical

Love my T5's in the dunes. They give just enough bottom end to not kill it in the treeshots and trails but they scream in the mid-top end. Pull real hard I love em.
-
Have you made sure the choke tubes are connected? You could unplug the TORS system and see if that helps. Most guys get rid of it completely as it is not necessary.
-
Mine has one cuz it came with it and it caused the right side intake boot to tear a little which caused a leak and the piston melted from running lean! I'm just looking for a cheap x-over tube now. Don't get one!
-
I'm kind of on a tight budget but I was planning on having them hone the cylinders as well, as I am positive my pistons are fine but I am going to replace the rings just for peace of mind.
-
Thanks for all the replies guys! I probably will get them honed and put new rings in before I put it back together if I get it ported. As for who I'll be going with.. Still thinking lol
-
The right side piston melted so I got it bored and honed to .040 over.
-
What about the rebuild thing? Do I have to rebuild after I send em out?
-
This might sound like a dumb question but if I want to send my cylinders off for some porting would I need to bore/hone the cylinders and rebuild the top end? I already know I DO want to re-ring the pistons after getting it ported but would rather not replace the pistons. I just rebuilt my top end like 6 months ago so it should still be fairly fresh. I am contemplating either HJR or F.A.S.T but am unsure of who to go with.. I want to get a dune/play port job and it seems about 300 for either company. What would you guys suggest?

Vito's claims an extra 8 horses in the mid-top end for the superstock and 4 to the low-mid with the power pistons. The skirts on the ones made by Vito (not cut Wiseco's) are thicker than Wiseco. And yes the idea is that it increases the duration on the exhaust, mimicking the effect of ported cylinders. But they still can't keep up with a set of real ported cylinders. I plan on buying those the next time I have to rebuild though. An extra 8 horsepower doing what I normally would have done anyways.
