  1. So me and 3 friends are packing up and going to silver lake labor day weekend and we want to camp out there, i just need to know what reservations i need to make and where do i camp. Im taking my truck 2 dirtbikes and a quad, i want to know if i can just drive my truck out on the dunes and unload all my shit there and just ride all day. then camp close as possible so i can ride early the next day.

  5. alright, i feel like everything is pretty easy to get around.. but registration is going to be a problem because if i am that unlucky one that gets checked i have no way to prove anything.. i dont think my bike ever was registered, the guy i bought it from bought it brand new in 1987 and said he had no paperwork at all.
  6. Oh and i forgot to ask.. If i sticker my truck could i just drive all our stuff somewhere and unload to make things easier?
  7. Okay so im 17 (have a valid drivers license but planned on going with just me and a buddy and we are both under 18 will that be a problem?) My banshee is in no way shape or form registered or titled.. I know i can get an ORV but is that all i will need? I have a strange feeling i will have a hard time getting shearer inframes to pass (how do i go about making them quiet enough and where do i get sparkys for them?) Ill make sure i have a flag. What am i missing and please if anyone could answer my questions i would really appreciate it.
  8. Hey dinner, your trucks a 24V right? Im lookin into gettin an older cummins soon and I will have to decide between the 12 and 24. How is it working on the 24v? i know alot of people swear by the 12V so im lookin to get your opinion on the matter. Also id like to ask you if you had the choice between a built 12 and a built 24 what would you pick

  10. Does anyone know about the Digatron DT52SL? Its almost like an A/F Meter but it just reads exhaust gas temps, the manufacturer says it works with banshees. I'm just curious what you guys think about it or if anyone has used it.. I ask because i'm a little new to tuning and if with this i could get it perfect then it would be worth the money for me

  12. 2:1 setups are more for trying to build a trail bike because you'll gain on the low end and lose up top, i wouldn't suggest it for a dune setup

  14. Hell Yeah! It was even pullin strong at 70 PSI.. thats why it took me so long to realize something was wrong haha
  15. No lol i bought this a couple months back and it ran fine.. i knew it was going to need a rebuild so i checked the comp and the chewed side read 70psi haha.. so i pulled it and here it is. Im doing a full rebuild with a bore and new pistons, just thought id share this though. Oh yeah and i forgot to add.. it hasnt been rebuilt yet and its an 87

  17. So today i pulled the motor and pulled the head to take a peak at what is going on and here is what I found: Any ideas as to how that happened?

  19. Thanks for all the help spurdy. and thanks alf i'm definitely going to keep you in mind because for my budget polishing makes more sense then buying all the chrome and billet pieces
  20. Thats what I wanted to hear! I dont have a cylmers but i do have the service manual, im going to make the leakdown tester that is pinned above and i have a compression tester... Ill probably go with F.A.S.T Because jeff can port and has all the parts that i need. Now that i know the rebuild shouldnt be too hard im really excited about this build.

  22. Its time to rebuild my pretty much stock banshee and since its gonna be apart im going to take this opportunity to do all the mods to it.. I have a few questions I know alot of you guys on the forums are going to suggest that i go to jeff or kevin, and i've looked at both sites and saw the prices were good and i know i can trust them.. my only problem is shipping my motor out.. I was thinking maybe to save some money i could just send the jug to get bored and ported, then order all the parts and do the rebuild myself, my only hesitation with that is ive never rebuilt a motor and I just dont want to waste money f***ing up. I was also thinking about my local engine shop down the road, I havent asked yet if they do ATV's but i know they do alot of different types of work. I know they do marine, and my buddy took the head from his volkswagen up there and they did a beautiful job.. this would be the cheapest route for me, but at this point im more interested in doing it right. I would apprecciate ANY suggestions, thanks
  23. With the setup you have now the stock carbs are sufficient, it would be a waste to go to bigger carbs unless your going to port your motor
  24. Yeah id like to see it too.. I wish i could do an FI setup, but i just dont think i have the money or know how to do it
  25. Ive heard E85 is like 100-105 octane could i run like 180 PSI with that?
