  1. i picked up a stock head shaved .060 and all i run is 93 oct pump.Just run a thicker head gasket if your concerned but raising compression is a quick way to add power, cheap too.
  2. good thing i came across this thread.I have seen good reviews from those okos but wasnt sure about them being "copies" of the pwks.I guess i would rather spend extra on the originals.Theres no faster way to put a sour taste in your mouth than to have a motor decide to give up the ghost in the middle of a hill or carbs that choose to flood or leak for no apparent reason.Nobody likes playing with twin carbs all the time.I guess thats why the cv system was born...
  3. i remember around a 185 or so when i had that set upon a banshee a couple yrs back.cel needle and a 52 pilot or so.
  4. maybe your rich already so you dont need the choke to start it.?
  5. thats the fun part of customizing a atv.Doing things to it so it fits YOUR taste not somebody elses. Why does a guy gotta get flack cuz he wants to do things his way?Different strokes for different folks. Most of these guys would be happy with a single pipe set up too if they were being realistic with themselves.A set of out of frame drag pipes on a trail shee cuz they sound cool isnt exactly idea..but whatever works for them
  6. Everybody is gonna have a opinion on pipes, always have always will.If somebody has a pipe in mind they will just search around until they get the kinds of reviews they want to hear, truth or not.I have personally played with the banshees since they arrived back on the scene and have seen all kinds of stuff come out over the years. It all comes down to what your trying to do with it.Most people laugh at the 2 into 1 pipes but they work for the intended purpose.just because a shee has a set of chrome huge R2 expansion chambers doesnt mean its gonna be ideal for one persons set up.I said it once and i will say it again, its hard to beat a set of fmfs fatties or pro circuits for a trail banshee or anything that short of drag.I dont care what dynos say as they are a tuning tool.Everybody has their preference, its always been that way.Banshees have never been known for their handling but we ride them anyway..lol
  7. wisecos are a safe bet,but i have used the wsms as well that i have gotten from TDR.Im sure they wouldnt use crappy pistons.I have used namura b4 too in the past.Worked fine for the time i ran them.Wiseco though would be first choice.
  8. its hard to beat stockers or some pwk 28mm for trails /general play riding>Stock carbs are good for a 70hp plus motor. Most people assume bigger is better, not always the case.
  9. I think fmf or pro circuits are fail safe pipes. Both work good for any kind of riding unless all out drag.I think a lot of people arent being reasonanblein their pipe request.I dont think a set of inframe drag pipe would be the hot set up for tight woods even if they can be made to work...just my opinion use common sense
  10. old post but im in ohio as well and i run a aggressive play port with fmfs and shaved head.im at 350 mains and 4th clip on the stock needles from bottom, stock pilots.toomey 2into 1 air filter
  11. i would still check that jetting,a 270 mains seem lean for ported cylinders.Im at 350 mains with aggressive play port shaved head and toomey filters on stock carbs for now.i may bump up a bit still fine tuning
  12. i had the cel needle in my single carb set up,i ran the 35pwk though.single carb set ups hit hard when properly dialed in,i loved mine.Too bad i sold that banshee.i think i was around a 185 main or so and 52 pilot?not exactly sure but it took a lot of trial and error to get it dialed in,but jeeting changes are so much easier with the single carb, perfect for being lazy..lol i heard all kinds of wish wash and BS from naysayers claiming you lose top end with single carb and yada yada ya but unless you have a drag port motor or dont know when to shift you wont notice it.this is from my personal experience.Been tuning b4 half of these yoyos were even born...

    2 into 1 intake

anybody have a single carb cv intake set up they want to dump?i just need the manifold dont need the carb.hit me up thanx
  14. you may have too much advance for your set up.. judgeing by the piston it also looks like too much clearance in the piston/cylinder causing excessive rocking
  15. a couple of years ago one could still get them from japan,at a price though...
  16. nobody has a cool head on a big bore?
  17. are there cool heads or pro design etc billet heads for big bores?I have a 72mm 4 mil long rod stroker and im thinking about adding a bit of bling and tunability to my shee. Are oring head gaskets better than copper ones?just curious as this is my first banshee, got the bugs FINALLY worked out on my cannondale and felt it was time for another oil burner.
  18. It WILL work.. Agreed, its not brain surgery here, its a seal from a late 60s design motor we are talking about fellas, its no big deal really to go astray from "the book"
  19. a new gasket and a bit of fipg (toyota sealant, from tdr)and you wont have to worry about it leaking again
