  1. yes they are very good for the banshee when used for woods.A lot of the fast guys used to use them back in the day.I think too many people come to conclusions based on blind biased statements from people online that have no first hand experience with them.....just sayin
  2. i have the t5s on mine as well.Since it looks like we do similar riding as we have the slag pits around here as well.Youll love the t5s for hill climbing.Mine has some trail porting and shaved head with stock carbs and the timing advanced maybe 4 degrees. It rips the hills.Im also 215lbs or so.The t5s dont have the low end of my fmfs but the mid and up makes up for it.Im at 280 right now for my main with jetting.if i ride it when it gets colder may go to a 290 or so but its good right now at 55/60
  3. years ago when athena came out with the 144cc kit for the yz125 mx bike,i knew a couple people that got them and they were happy with the kits. These were former pro and some pretty fast vet riders. So im sure athena wouldnt make a junk product. Most people tend to believe what they "hear" instead of what they "see".Your eyes will never deceive you.Ill try anything if i can get a deal...lol
  4. YES really because after all this time, people still have this misconception about the t5/t6 exhaust and what worx with what.Ignorance is eternal.I'tll never go away so this thread like others will never be obsolete
  5. what kind of shape is the rear shock in ?the shee i just picked up is leaking a bit on the rear seal..jermaine
  6. A properly tuned single carb set up can run really good.I have had both, its nice having to tune only 1 carb though.
  7. can 660 raptor arms be trimmed to fit banshee? dont want yfz arms so dont mention it,found deal on complete 660 set up,might buy them anyway and make them work lol
  8. yeah compression is only part of it.timing also plays a key in the equation as well.Just like everything alse reults may vary..
  9. doesnt LOOK bad but the performance is what counts. If you arent happy go back in it.Theres only one way to learn through trial and error.Nobody was born a porting guru.Too many people are quick to undermine sombody wanting to learn mopre about porting.Read up gather all the info you can.Remember half of these so called "banshee specialists" were nowhere to be found in the early 90s,now everyone of them has the hot ticket for banshee performance...too funny. So dont be afraid to keep after it,if you mess up a set of cylinders,so what they are a dime a dozen plus youll know for future reference what works.I did my cylinders in my sig about 4yrs ago.i have had dozens of sets over the yrs...
  10. i had just the same problem the other day on my 250 quadracer,i ended up being lean on the pilot, had to turn air screw almost all the way in(richer) to run right,so that let me know i was lean....
  11. should have got a set of pwk keihins...easier to tune imo.but if the price was right cant blame ya.
  12. this is a popular mod, they used to sell a "bar snake" in ther early 80s which was basically weighted rubber to hep dampen vibration.unless one is nit pickin bout ounces its really a win win situation
  13. those stick out like the r2s?i like that look lol
  14. whats the price of these? Will Borrink sell direct or refer you to Minkia?kinda likin the chrome but my finances dictate may tastes lol
  15. Once you port a banshee youll wondere what took you so long. The return frfom bolt ons are minimal compared to porting. You could go with a trail/mx style port for more bottom and mid.A shee still has plenty of top end pull. You can be at 55hp and up with just a "play port",no need to get a all out drag port job that run wfo . 252wheelieking i like your avatar...no disrespect if the ur significant other..lol
  16. Exactly>you do it long enough its almost routine..
  17. i agree nothing like doing things yourself>Im sure this is fine for general play riding, most of us arent running nationals anyway. The kids on here will find out later on how tough it is to drop a grand on suspension for their "toy" when they have mouths to feed and mortage etc.. Sure we would all like the good shit designed for our bikes but it doesnt always work that way in life. You do what you can at times.
  18. This is a old post but i like this>i really like to see people doing stuff on their own instead of listening to the yo yos on the sideline that like to talk smack of how"this wont work or geometry is off or less than optimal shock angle"blah blah. This right here is one of the fun parts(to me) of customizing a ride.Way to think outside the box instead of waiting for somebody or company to come to the rescue by throwing cash at them.I love it.
  19. I agree>i think alot of people arent really practical as to what they want or NEED.Bigger isnt always better, too much carb can make a banshee a handful when its out of its elementbeen there done that. With that said imo its hard to beat a set of tuned pwk 28s for play riding on just about any set up.You really dont need all out topend hp for your application especially with the mx port and high compression youll love the 28s.
  20. could be rich with that set up especially running airbox lid, what does your plugs look like?whats your needle clip position? You need to eliminate one thing at a time.
