  2. I need this thing gone. I'm tired of fulling with it, I don't know what's wrong with it. it's going to make someone very happy if they can figure it out. it's got a brand new top end. it misses at wot 1/2 to 3/4 is ok. I've tried a larger and smaller main jet in each carb. I have no where to ride it, i've never rode it since i put it together. I don't sign on here often, if you're seriously interested, email me at [email protected] I have a yamaha banshee I put together a year or so ago and have lost interest in, it will need the carbs synced and tuned but you can hear it run and do a compression test if you choose, it's got a miss at the top of the powerband. I have no place to ride. the mods include banshee was put on a dyno and dyno'd 53hp and ran ran 99mph. i have the actual paperwork here to prove it, they put out 27 stock. that's a significant increase for an engine this small.   3. since it's the right side and the fuel has to travel farther going to the right carb i'd check to make sure your fuel petcock isn't plugged first make sure you're getting enough fuel flow out of the tank for up top. i had a plugged petcock cause something similar ... if that's not it i'd check the jets again, if that's not it i'd check for airleaks. i'f all this fails, switch the plug wires on the plugs and put new plugs in it. see if the same side is still running lean after you switched the plugs. and plug boots.

  5. this guy is correct, i bought them off ebay and they are esr outwears. however..... if i had a place to ride and rode this thing i would be buying the k&n drag filters with the bracket and overflow mount.

  7. t 5 pipes wiseco forged pistons. cylinders were bored and honed. kevin at www.herrjugsracing.com in california ported the cylinders chariot aluminum timing plate aftermarket fog lights installed. boss intake system v force 3 reeds 34mm carbs. pods with outwears shaved factory cylinder head new throttle cable new rear brake pads new chain+sprockets plus a couple extra front sprockets new clutch new front wheel bearings. new stainless allen screws for clutch cover and stator cover "these replace the phillips +2 inch swingarm twist throttle "thumb throttle is included as well front bumper and aftermarket handlebars also included are 3 or 4 extra wheels/tires these is a steal for this quad, you couldn't put one together for this, i'm open to trades as well. but prefer cash. i just don't have anywhere to ride it or i would keep it. located in chattanooga tennessee

  13. i haven't done a plug chop, i haven't changed plugs, all i have done since it came off the dyno, was back the timing back down to plus 4 and change the jets from 142s to 148s today..... i haven't rode it or done anything, today was the first time i have heard it run. and it was just so that kid could test ride it, theres no where to ride it around here.
  14. ok, so i put this banshee together, v force 3's, boss intake"sealed before i put it on with yamabond" 34mm pj's , posd, wiseco forged pistons, ported cylinders, and chariot aluminum timing plate... built this thing about a year ago put it on the dyno and haven't rode it since....... well when it was on the dyno i did 3 or 4 pulls, we dropped the jets down about 4 sizes. the guy who owned the dyno said that was still a little rich, but i don't think he knew what he was talking about, anyways on the last pull it started popping at WOT, i thought maybe it was just running out of gas. i haven't rode the thing since i built it. today a changed the jets, and went up 4 sizes, and put everything back together "148s" and a kid that's wanting to trade me a vr4 for it came over and test rode it. i heard it pop when he was at wot on the road infront of my house, any ideas? i don't "think" there are air leaks, but i guess i can get some carb/choke cleaner crank it up and spray the outside of the carbs and see if it rev's up. it was running +6 timing with a chariot aluminum timing plate when it was on the dyno, since then i have read here that was too much, so i dropped it down to +4

  16. i do believe i just pulled .50s out of my 250r they were 2 sizes over stock, whatever stock is.
  17. his mods would help however i dunno if running rich would cause it to pop i know running lean can but running rich will cause it to lose top end it will just sound like it's running really rich, no popping or anything and if he raised the needle and the mid range got better, thats because he gave it "more fuel" i'd suggest going up a couple sizes if it's that bad. you are better rich than lean and if you are lean now you wanna be a little rich.
  18. dude you don't sound very smart people here clearly tryed to help you, first have you changed the spark plug wires opposite from what they were and tryed to kick it to see if the cylinder that's been missing is still missing? if it is, it's not a firing issue... if the cylindrs switch and you have problems with the other one you most likely have a bad coil or short somewhere. trace the 2 wires that plug into the coil and see where they go and make sure theres not cuts in them. then get back with me.
  19. i'll get you some pictures tomorrow morning when i wake up. i need to take pictures of the cases too guys i spent about 4-5 hours cleaning the cases up today. they look almost new, there were a couple spots with grease that i couldn't get too but for the most part they are clean and look good. someone can bolt these on and go or have them powder coated.... still 100 bucks shipped and theres no cracks the spot that the chain usually breaks is fine on these cases. no cracks or chain marks.

  23. ok guys, i know these kinda questions have been made a lot and i also know you guys are all 2 stroke finatics but take a minute to read this in third person.... i have a 86 trx 250 r currently the top end is off, i blew it up the week before last or last week. it's got aftermarket axle, lonestar swingarm, if the top a airms weren't adjustable from the factory it's got aftermarket a arms. nerf bars, handlebars, fmf pipe and silencer, reed pedals "stock cages" and will have a brand new wiseco forged aluminum piston. the piston is already here just waiting on machine shop to give me cylinder back and it will be put back together..... well i have the banshee and it's fast, the 250r is really rough on me in the trails for some reason, i think the front shocks are shot but it beats me up i'm thinking about swapping the 250r which i love and always wanted one and swore when i got it i'd never get rid of it, but i'm thinking about swapping it for a 03 660 raptor. http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/mcy/1346263478.html what do you guys think? also whats the good and bads with the raptors if anyone here knows? i have road a lot of atv's but the only newer 4 strokes that i have been around were the ds 650 i had one of those and a yz400f dirtbike in 2001. so i don't really know much about raptors, never even seen one run... last time i had the quads out the place where i road around here had a lot of 2 foot deep washouts you had to strattle with tires on each side, it was a pretty rough place to ride and the banshee just wasn't cutting it being a 2 stroke i would have rather been on a 4 stroke that was a little more forgiving. do you think i should trade that guy? also will the steering stem from a banshee fit a raptor?
