i had 2 banshees and 1 ds650 and raced a few banshees on the street, a stock ds will beat a stock banshee out the whole and top end, i beat a banshee with pipes, and idk if it had anything else done to it, if i remember it had aftermarket carbs, but i beat him by about 4 cars in the 1/8 on the street. maybe 5... however i had a banshee that would have smoked my ds and i don't know what it had done to it, i bought it the way it was...... it was a really long time ago.. heres a video with me on a warrior and on the ds but it was back in 2000 or 2002 i had only been riding quads for about a week or 2 lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_pvpvAq824

i don't have pictures of the stock cages with the new boysen superstock reeds there currently still on the banshee i just ordered the intake and v force yesterday don't be afraid to make offers, i lost my job and don't need this stuff. but i'm not gonna give it away either these aftermarket reed pedals in these pictures look dirty in the pictures but i promise there in great shape. like new.. they seal all the way. not possitive but i just searched these aftermarket reeds look like vitos stage 2 reeds http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Banshee-Vitos-Carbon-Flex-2-stage-reed-set_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem48328dd969QQitemZ310085802345QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

ok i have a few things so i may update this later...... i have a set of stock banshee reed cages with aftermarket carbon fiber reeds that appear to be in excellent shape. 50.00 i have a set of stock cages with "brand new boysen superstock reed pedals" they were ran for maybe 5 total running minutes 60.00 i prob. still have receipt for reeds and they cost that much.... a set of boysen rad valve cages, great for a stock carb setup... 60.00 for cages. with no reeds, or i can take a set of reeds of your choice from above and sell for 110 bucks i have a set of stock carbs, 1 of the tors "might" be bad, idk. i was running the quad and it ran fine with carbs synced then it wouldn't rev up so i unplugged tors and tors box and it ran fine. i dunno if it was the tors box or tors. but either way they work great with tors unplugged. this will include carbs, filters to go on back of carbs, no outwears and they were used for maybe 4 passes at drag strip and that was it. so there pratically brand new, they have been oiled. and a jet kit that has main jets from sizes pilots 15-40 and 210 to 390 mains... i'll take 125 for everything, carbs, cables, jet kit, and filters for back of carbs that replace airbox... i have a stock set of bars i'll sell for 15 bucks plus shipping, i need to check them but i don't think there bent. stock swingarm that has been chromed but sat and had some light surface rust, all cleaned up with a wire brush however you can still see some orange tint to the chrome in the seems to tell it was there. i'll take 50 plus shipping. stock bearing carrier bearings are prob. bad, i don't know never used it. 25 plus shipping. rite now digital camera is on charge but if anyone is intrested in any of this i'll take pictures. thanks for looking you can reply to this add, idk when i'll check back or call my cell 423 364 2720 "doug" all prices do not include shipping, i don't know how much shipping will be, i suggest you check similar items for sale and see what they are charges for shipping. if someone wants a deal on the carbs, filter setup, jets, boysen rad valve cages and superstock reeds i'll prob. sell it all together for 210 plus shipping.

moved need clip one posission richer which is the very bottom groove on these needles, and air screws were at 2 turns out, i put them at 1.5 it idles now, but it feels too rich. do you think the needle is what got it to idle or the air screws? and should i put needle clip back to where it was?

just got banshee put together, it's got +5 or +6 timing i forgot which i put it on. boysen superstock reeds, ported cylinders, forged pistons, keihn 34mm pj carbs, and filters with i dunno weight oil and outwears....... the carbs say you turn the choke nob to adjust the idle, i turn it and it doesn't help much if any. it will idle if i give it some gas and i mean idle, not run on the high speed jets. anyone have a clue?

i have a 250r with a lonestar swingarm person i got it from said it was a 86 i can't find serial numbers on it anywhere, i have took a wire brush to the powder coated frame where it says the serial numbers are and didn't find anything. i need a new piston and need to know if it's a 86 for sure, can anyone tell me how to tell if the motor itself is in fact a 86 motor? please help someone.

need a good clutch basket.

searched ebc's faq and didn't see anything on it and also searched google and didn't find much but i did find a exploded view of the factory clutch and figured out how the plates are supposed to go, i didn't soak my plates either so i'm pulling it back apart tomorrow, i'll prob. put it back together without the seals
-
nobody gave a clear answer in his thread.... not to mention he said his didn't have marks, but after searching google for 30 minutes i found these
-
ok so i bought a cheap ebc clutch kit off ebay and installed it, there were marks on the plates, i just read that maybe those marks are used to line the clutch plates up every 60 degrees, i didn't see any grooves in the plates where they fit into eachother or anything. the new clutch kit didn't come with the rubber to go under the plates do i need to take this apart and line the plates up? if so how do i line them up? and do i need to pull the rubber from inside the plates?

125 for carbs, tors, cable, and the complete jet kit plus shipping. idk how much that will be if you are still intrested i'll get a picture of all for you. the cable worked for me but it prob. needs replaces, where the 2 cables go into one the plastic is cracked. i took it out with the tors hooked up and carbs synced and it ran fine for a little while then it started not revving so i unplugged the tors box and it ran fine after that, i dunno if the tors are messed up or if the tors box is bad.

reed cages for a fully mod'd stock cylinder stock crank motor. the inlet is too small on the boysens i have. also need intake boots for 34mm carbs. could also use some like new filters for 34mm carbs. i have to trade or sell stock reed cages with aftermarket carbon fiber reeds, 2 sets actually one has brand new boysen superstock reeds never ran. with allen screws instead of phillips. the other is carbon fiber reeds on stock cages i have no idea of brand. also have a set of aftermarket boysen reed cages for a stock carb motor. have stock chromed swingarm it did sit for a while and has some "Surface Rust" but i put a hand wire brush on it and got it off, there was only a little bit in some of the joints, but if you look at it hard you can see orange where the spots were however i think this will clean off. stock handlebars.. stock carbs with a box of new jets i bought off ebay that range "i think" from 27 to 30 somthing pilots and from 190 to almost 400 mains. if intrested in any of this stuff post and i'll get pics, i really don't need any of it.
-
do you need the spacer thing that goes between the reeds and cages or can you put the reeds straight on the cages without that piece thats usually under it? "if you have aftermarket reeds that cover the whole area, cause the stock reeds are too thin and don't reach accrossed so they seal on that plastic, the aftermarket reeds will go all the way accrossed the cages and i don't think you need that plastic piece but i dont know? sorry i just read the op and i was off in wonderland, i got fired today but hopfully this clears it up.
-
on stock reed cages theres a piece in between the reeds and cage, i guess its there to help the reeds seal? my question is do you need this when purchasing aftermarket reed cages?
-
anybody got any v force for sale for a good price? if so post up a pic and price please.

to the top

well information from you experienced people would help. i looked at carbs and the inside diamter of the carb where it attached to the intake is bigger than the boysen rad valve cages, so i'm assuming that's going to rob power? guess i need v force reeds, will the stock cages with boysen reeds do till i can purchase the v force? any information would be great.

contact kev at herrjugsracing for a stock milled head, he has them for a good price i just purchased one.

heres a few things to check, make sure you rwater pump is working and it is infact cooling whenever it's warm and it's not overheat. if this is ok, you did put a new head gasket when doing the rings rite? it sounds more like carb issues to me. like it sat and has bad gas and you're sucking shit up in your high speed jets and letting it idle is clearing it out, the bowls looked fine when you rejetted? did you drain the gas and put new gas? are you running a inline filter? it could also be a airleak, spray starting fluid all around the carbs and reeds to make sure you're not getting a airleak when it warms up.
