  1. When you cleaned your carbs did you remove all the jets and the needle jet and the choke, and use carb cleaner and compressed air? Sounds to me like one of your pilot jets is clogged. I have even gone as far as taking a small safety pin and pushing it through the pilot to be sure nothing was lodged in there.
  2. Whats the problem in the first place>? Do you have stock carbs? If so,when you switched them how did you connect the choke tube,we need more info
  3. Maybe your overflow channel on your carbs is clogged, and your floats are wrong at the same time, longshot but maybe. I dont see how you could be getting raw gas in the exhaust and not overflowing the carbs,is there gas built up behind the carb too?like in the rear carb boot?
  4. they can last for quite a long time, our old 91 ran for three years of total hell after we got it,and it was beat down and wore out when we got it. One day it started running funny, wouldnt rev out,and would only bump start, but we still rode it all day, turns out it crapped a ring ! lol Put it back together with just a bore and new pistons, that was two years ago and it still runs today,.
  5. I would buy all sizes 150-165. Pilot jets i would buy 52 and lower
  6. Didnt know where to post this but it is bad ass old school banshee killing 250r's lt250r's and zilla's,this dude can ride!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qgia0CQHVFE
  7. With pipes you have to consider how much gas and air is being pushed back into the cylinder by the exspansion chamber. Cpi's might need smaller mains because they work more efficiently and therefore require less gas and air to do the same job I personaly just switched from toomey t5's to CPI small bore inframes, and i run 33mm pwk carbs, I had to jet down from 165 to 155 for the cpi's,and went from a 45 pilot to a 42 i think(not positive on the pilots but i know i had to go down) I was surprised to but thats just the way it works with some setups. My Cpi's wont even let my bike rev out all the way with 165 mains and 45 pilots, runs like crap, But when i put the 155 mains and 42 pilots in it freakin screams. I also had to lower the needle one clip.
  8. Damn thats a heck of a knock. I wouldnt run it until i tore it down, check your squish, blah blah. I wouldnt run it. It could grenade and you would be s.o.l.
  9. Wait were you there saturday?
  10. When you guys go,if the place is at all crowded,be careful. Theres only like 150 acres, and a a lot of blind corners and hills, ive had several close head on calls there. Only 150 acres, and IMO one of the best spots in the area. They got a bad ass drag strip with lights,an mx track,The biggest baddest hills you will ever need in your life, and plenty of trails, its a really awesome place. LOTS of hill ranging from easy to "you have to be fuckin nuts to climb that" type of hills. They got a few hills that make the widowmaker at big rock seem like a damn speed bump. Its a rare day to go there and not see a quad get completely totaled on a big hill. People are always drinking and the owners dont seem to care, lol. As a matter of fact first time i was there i rolled my lt250r down a hill and broke my tie rods and bent my steering stem lol I have probably ridden there like 50 times lol cant get enough. The staff is great, they have hot dogs and water/pop/gatorade. Real laid back people. The only thing i have seen the owner get pissed at is at some idiots riding backwards on the motocross track and drag strip,or flying through the parking lot like an idiot. Other than that you pay to get in and its a free for all.
  11. Sounds like the needle jet
  12. Depends on if im still crazy or not but i really want to go.
  13. Ill be there with a stupid fuckin helmet on. Someone stole my helmet right out of the back of my truck today and the only extra i have is an old street bike helmet lol Its not going to be muddy,it was like 95 degrees and sunny all day today and its supposed to be 90 and sunny tomorow the place should be about perfect
  14. I bet With it being over 90 most of the place except the valleys will be dry, always places to ride there. And theres always a way around the mud. If it rains the day before i just stay away from the whole right hand side of the place lol
  15. If you do a search on this you will find tons of information. The 2 into 1 pipe is for low-mid. A lot of guys like them and a lot of guys hate them.
  16. LoL tell us how you really feel haha
  17. ASR has never done me wrong on about 5 or 6 transactions, maybe im just lucky I agree some of the stuff i hear sounds bad,but i have never had a firsthand bad experience.
  18. Well i have spent some time on the phone with both these guys lately and they are awesome people to deal with. NOSS::: The engine kit i bought(not from noss) came with a vitos head, but the domes i got with it were messed up. So i needed to buy stroker domes. Vitos actualy told me they couldnt cut the domes but they would sell me standard domes, and to call noss about cutting them. So after spending time on the phone with the guy from Noss he was so cool I just decided to sell the vito's head and buy a Noss head. Seems like usualy people at businesses just want to know what you wanna buy,so they can get off the phone. Dave (i think thats his name) spent about 30 minutes with me on the phone talking about set up and explaining to me how to properly check out my deck height. He just went above and beyond what im used to on the phone with these people. I will never deal with anyone else for head stuff. ASR::: Always super nice, always super helpful. Always makes sure your happy with your order. I needed to have my spindles reemed to work with my new oversized ball joints on my denton j arms, and i called ASR to see if there was any other option. Well they actualy sell custom ball joints, that have a 16mm thread for the denton arms, but have a standard yamaha taper for the ball joints. SO i got 4 ball joints to fix my setup, and ended up spending less on 4 ball joints than i would have spent on buying the proper reamer lol! I also have a set of their +2 chromoly a-arms,and we are extremely happy with them. I Used to own a set of thier super heavy duty tie rods too. And when one of the tie rods bent in a bad crash, that was totaly my fault,ASR sent me a new tie rod for free no questions asked. These days it seems like the good people are even fewer and farther in between. I will go to noss and asr whenever i can from now on.
  19. Sounds to me like the carbs are dirty I would take them off and completely clean them out. Take out everything, the mains, pilots, choke, air screws ect. Use carb cleaner and compressed air. Sounds to me like one of your pilots has something stuck in it.
  20. Sounds like it,at least it didnt mess up your top end
  21. If the thing was sitting long enough outside to lock the cylinders up i wouldnt run it until you have done a tear down and check out the crank and bearings ect....... And everything. If there is rusting and pitting on the bearings ect it could live a very short life if its not taken care of. Welcome to the site brotha
  22. Well it has the same power characteristics as my stroker,it will wheelie in 3rd with no effort and in 4th if you pull up. I dont have a problem launching in second my tires just spin
  23. How much for the seat?....sending pm
  24. half the place is wide open fields.so theres plenty of room for drag racing
  25. thanks guys, its looking like im going to end up with around a 160 main and a 42 pilot
