  1. I live in the middle of the mojave desert. Not as hot as phoenix, but 110+ all summer. I've ran castrol gtx 10/40 for years with no issues. Read somewhere a long time ago, it doesn't matter what you run, as long as you change it often. Way cheaper than gear oil from the motorcycle shop too.
  2. Did you get the head that comes with longer studs? If so, first thing to do is remove the stock head and change the studs. Putting it back together is pretty easy. Only tricky part is keeping the o-rings in place. I used a little grease to hold them on. Don't forget to drain your coolant before taking off the stock head.
  3. Is one of your slides stuck open, or the cable is way to tight.
  4. Already have a pro design impeller and easy drain. Anyone else. Any tricks are appreciated.
  5. Getting ready to pull the clutch cover this weekend. I just finished polishing a new cover, so I bought her a few new parts. Pancake bearing, modded shift star, and a shift pro shift kit. I changed the clutch plates and springs a couple seasons ago. Is there anything else I can do while its off? Just checkin with you guys for any tricks I don't know about.
  6. After you clean the carbs, its a good idea to check the compression. Always good to know where you started at. In the future you can compare the difference to help rule out problems.

  9. I have close to the same set-up as you. I run 21 cc domes for pump gas. Carb set-up on mine is stockers bored to 28 mil. No complaints on top end. You probably have better mid with the single carb.
  10. Just read a post on dumont dune riders about some night drags on the 20th of june. Just wondering if any of you guys heard about it. Not sure whos putting it on, But they did it last month too. Let me know if anyone's interested, I might be able to find a few banshee riders to go out.
  11. Used to ride one of those back in the day. Fast as hell, no brakes, watched my buddy wod it up in a barbed wire fence. I don't remember it being faster than a banch.

  15. I was wondering about the shift shaft mod also. Anyone have any before and after pics?
  16. If you go to cheap cycle parts .com or bike bandit.com thy have diagrams for all stock parts. Everything is numbered so you can order the right part.
  17. Is this bearing mounted to the inner clutch hub, the bolt that you can see before taking it apart. How do you adjust them?

  19. Is the shift star located behind the clutch? Does anyone have a pic of one still mounted on the motor. I've been reading about this mod for a while, and was just wondering how hard it is to get to.

  21. After installing a tm designworks case saver, I kept hearing a crazy ass noise. Sounds like a wood block from a drum set. I can hear it when rolling to a stop. Anyone else ever heard this before, or am I about to spend somemore cash. I hope its the links of the chain rubbing across the case saver.
  22. Just got back from a 35 mile ride. No stops, just wide open 5th and 6th gear. I'm only on my 2nd top end in 7 years. Why do people insist that 2 strokes are unreliable? Treat them right and keep up on the repairs. Just had to tell someone, thought you guys would appreciate this.
  23. Anyone else going next weekend? I was working out of town last weekend, but might be able to swing the next one. Always a good time when the crowds die down.
  24. How much do you want to spend? If all you have are pipes, there is alot you can do.
  25. I've had just about every problem that has been suggested. Sounds like a fuel problem imo. After my first rebuild, bike did the same thing. Had to clean the carbs 2 or 3 times and it finally ran right. Let us know what you find. Good luck
