I am guessing you are talking about the axle bearings being out and unless they were froze up it is not really going to slow you down and unless you have ridden a lot of banshees you are not really going to be able to tell if it has had motor work done unless you take it apart and look. Just having it bored is not going to make a big enough defferance for you to be able to tell. It may be ported then that would make it have more power.

With those mods 290 mains are a bit big at sea level. With your air box still on and just pipes you should be around the 270 to 280 mark. If it will not start since you put the carbs on you either have the slides in backwards or you did not get something right in one of the carbs when you cleaned them.

I thought you had all of that stuff unhooked. That is one of the first things to try if you are having troubles like this.

Looking at the head is not going to tell you anything other than the fact that you have a problem. Untill you get the cylinders off and see what kind of damage you have no one can answer your question.

105 is weak but the bike should still run fine but as you know it is going to need a rebuild soon. First thing I would do is swap the cdi box from yours to his and I bet that will fix your problem. Sounds like the CDI to me I lost one on my daughters bike last riding trip and it did the same thing. I have seen a few other bikes that have doine that also. As far as the pilot goes with just the mods you have the stock pilot should be just fine you can put the 27.5 in if you want but I doubt you really see any change with that. Good luck.

I know of several Mattoon baskets with many seasons on them with no issues at all. If they are not responding to emails try calling them. Not everyone uses email on a regular basis. Keith is a great guy I am sure he will make it right with you.

I have a set of chrome t5 head pipes that I am tired of laying around in my way. They are in good shape with no dent they do have some rust but not bad at all. Yes I know it is the worst place in Oregon to ride but some friends from Washington want to do a short trip this weekend to shake the bikes down well before Memorial so we are headed to Sand Lake for the weekend. If anyone is going to be there hit me up and let me know where you will be at. We are hoping to get there ealry enough on Friday to get a spot in the actual camp ground.

I have only been one time but I can tell you that if you enjoy dune riding you will have a blast. We went for the first time 2 years ago and it is so much different than the dunes here in oregon. If you stay at Elgin you will not make it to choke cherry and back if you are on Alky I can promise you that. My 4mill cub on gas could make it out there run about 4 passes on the hill then it was straight back to camp for fuel. We really did like the Elgin Lake camp ground people were super nice and the camp is nice also. Only thing i would suggest is make sure you take plenty of parts with you. We boke down a couple of times and there is a big Yamaha dealer in town but there parts selection sucked!.

Not trying to jump your shit but when the guy asks you how long since the rebuild it would probably be a good idea to tell him what year you rebuilt it and how many trips a year you generaly ride so he could get some kind of a idea of the use the motor has on it. A compression test is great but it does not tell you anything more than just how much compression it has. A general idea of how much riding you have done and what year you built the motor would probably help out a lot.

There is no way to tell you what the pefect pilot for your bike is but as a general rule a 27.5 should work just great in your bike. LOL I am sure it had issue with 2 different pilots in it. Just keep checking your plugs and playing with your jets and you will get it right where you want it.

Yes a bad stator can cause detonation. I really do not know if that is your problem or not but my buddies motor I built for him was having issues with it backing plugs out and nothing I tried would fix it. I finally replaced the junk rikcy stator and it has never had a problem since.

Why do you not just go look in the dyno room here and see which of the site sponsors are building the best hp and then call them and talk with a few of them and then go woth the one you like???? Just a thought

That is some ruff stuff right there? Looks like to me the pistons were slapping around in there I would guess that motor had a ton of hours on it.

I have a used set of 35 pwk gas carbs for sell. Please be very clear I have never ran these carbs on my bikes. I put them on my bike just to fire it up and make sure they ran. I got them in a trade for some other parts and have no need for them. They fired right up on my bike so I am assuming they are fine but I am pricing them at $180.00 shipped just because I really know nothing about them. I am open to trading them for 34 PJ'S or possibly other parts.
