  1. what power range are you trying to improve? timing will give you more starting low, and the cool head can bump you up all over, but reed selection really depends. boysen pedals come in different ranges, and for about 50 bucks, give or take, you can pick either some stiffer pedals that flow best on top end, like dual stage carbon fiber, or some softer dual stage pedals that perform better on the low-mid. if you port, then you can step up to the vf3's for top end, or chariot's for more range selection. Once you get your mods tuned in, then decide what, if any, sprocket changes you may want. I believe that noss also offers a discount for bhq members
  2. I thought the pickup triggers @+17, and the cdi retards it to +11. i could be wrong, but not knowing that, and looking for it to trigger at tdc could lead someone to believe that it's off by 17. i was thinking out loud, visualizing someone checking the stock mark while being pull started. chill fucker :shoothead: I'll remember not to piss in your coffee next time.
  3. cool beans
  4. mine's sill hanging out. broken. you don't need the crap
  5. i did a Google search some time after i bought my banshee, and this site came up. don't remember if i was looking into parts or something, but I've been on ever since. awesome site
  6. when it's properly adjusted, you should be able to just kick it once or twice if it's warm. The choke is just for cold. what part was missing?
  7. Slow leaks durring storage usually denote hardened needles, IME.
  8. The technology isn't outdated. E.P.A. just doesn't like it.
  9. I would make them replace it. They do have the technology to procure a new stock part.
  10. rz350. it's a streetbike motor
  11. what's your definition of 6"?
  12. welcome, your float needles are leaking. if it's a slow leak, then just shut the fuel of when you stop. buy some new ones, clean your carbs out, and you should be fine. only do one carb at a time, because you can mix the bowls and slides, and it won't run right
  13. If the fuel is cold, it will not atomize nearly as good untill it heats, like in the case as the engine is starting to warm up. hence, the need for a choke. start it up and turn the idle down as it rises, and you'll probably have to drop the needle a bit. i just got some new ones that fit the larger jet sizes (thicker and longer) did you try out that torco?
  14. what do you mean by throwing sparks? rust and shit in there can mess with the spark, definitely. clean it out the best you can wit some electrical cleaner and compressed air, bot the best thing to do is get the puller and clean it. shake the flywheel to see if it rattles, but don't try to get away with a jaw puller, or you will need a new flywheel.
  15. shelf life of a twinky
  16. also, the spring that hooks the factory pipes together
  17. watch your slides when they do this, and check your cables, make sure the caps aren't too tight, make sure the holes are not covered by the cable retainers in the slides, and check for an air leak. if your slides are clean, and you can move them easily in the carb when the cable's not connected, I'd bet it's your cable/s
  18. if you run summer jetting for the race, you could melt a piston. if you are running the gas from the local station up there, i'd say you'll be closer to the 300-320 range, and have to play with the needle to get the midrange right
  19. factory didn't use a gasket between the reeds and boot, but alot of people run one for insurance. you need one between the reeds and cylinders, though. An air leak would cause a backfire
  20. ok, turn the caps off, my eyes are going deaf. we need to know what carb/s you rae running, elevation, temperature, and mods. I.e. pipes, filter setup, porting, reeds.
  21. old the throttle wide open, and kick it over untill the needle stops moving
  22. baseline timing should be +17, and here is a mark to check, but you use a timing light. i think it would be a fiasco that you would catch on video, pulling it and checking the timing at the same time :yelrotflmao:
  23. not to prove any gains, so much as partial throttle curves. i never said it gives power
