  1. I don't have much time to respond right now so I'm hurrying. I bought a jet kit through Vito's. Just make sure to tell him that you want jet sizes 270 - 320. Also make sure you have 2 27.5 pilot jet's. If not get those from Vito too. Also if you order from him it never hurts to get a spare set of bowl gaskets. If you don't specifically tell him what size mains you want in the kit your going to get 300 - 340 which I didn't need at all. I'm running 290's. I got the same Bore and the same pistons. I Love them. Also I had boyeson carbon fiber reeds and honestly they worked great but I went ahead and got the VForce 3 system and honestly they are incredibly better than the boyeson's. Big difference, Very snappy throttle. Don't know if I'm aloud to say this but I got them through amazon $225.00 Shipped. Sorry, Gotta run, Later !

  4. I know my ring's looked good when I took them off of my old pistons too but there is no getting around you definately need rings. And it might be that your pistons don't mic properly at all six points. A good machinist should be able to tell you the deal. When I sent my pistons to Jeff he thought we could get away with boring my cylinders .010 and after doing that thing's where better but needed more boring. After he bored them .020 things mid'd and measured great and I havn't checked my compression since the work. No need to the banshee is running great. Lot's more power.
  5. Brent, You have been given some good suggestions. Definitely take the bowls off the carbs and soak them. Blow out all passage ways and with compressed air. Take the pilot jets out and you should be able to see light through the very very small hole. Blow these out also. sometimes if you just take one metal bristle off of a wire brush you can use this to also help clean out the pilot hole. Depending on how old the bike is it may be a good idea to order yourself two rebuild kit's from Jeff at FAST and rebuild the carbs. Just don't use the main jet or the pilot jet from the rebuild kit because they will be for a stock banshee that doesn't even have pipes. Since your's has pipes I'm going to assume previous owner either jetted or had the bike re jetted for the fmf pipes. If you don't have a Clymer's manual now would be a good time to get one. Jeff also sells those. Stock pilot on Banshee came with a 25. They go in increments of 2.5, so 25, 27.5, 30, 32.5, etc.... I would start off with a 27.5 in yours if it does not already have that in it. Stock mains are 200. If someone was interested enough to put pipes on the bike then I would imagine they have done something with the filter system, i.e. took the snorkel off, and I have no idea but maybe running the bike with the filter but without the lid ? If this is somewhat the case I would say your mains are in the vicinity of 260. Mains go in increments of 10 + or - Your going to have to sync your carbs. You can either read about that on this forum which there is tons of info about or follow the directions in the Clymer's manual. Also if your bike still has the parking brake on it make sure it is off when running your machine because if it's on and you still have the tors system hooked up the bike will run like ASS anywhere after 1/4 throttle. I could write a book telling you more and more and more but you will have to do your research and it will all start coming together in your head. Take Care and I hope this helps !

  7. Good point ticktock, Wouldn't that be nice if everything mic'd out good for him and he good get away with a hone, rings, cir clips. Shoot I'd be tempted to buy the hone tool just to have. I think that tool is like $45.00 Y buy piston's if you don't need to.
  8. Your into it now Slothman ! That little gap your talking about doesn't mean you need a Bore job neccesarily. I forgot exactly how to tell if your pistons are stock bore. I'm pretty sure there is part #'s on top of the pistons that you can google and it will tell you what you got. You will have to get the black of the crowns of the pistons to see this # if I remember correctly. Aslo You will see an arrow and when you put your new pistons back together make sure that arrow is facing toward the front of the bike (toward the Radiator). I hope you have a Clymer's manual and if you don't get one and read everything when putting your top end back together. Here is a video I posted before I had my cylinder's bored by Jeff at FAST. 9. If your going to get your pilot jets from vito's then you might as well get your main jet's from them too. If I where you I'd get from 260 - 310 or 270 - 320.

  17. I'm really not sure about the dynoport needles. I've heard good things like they work great on snowmobiles but not so good on atv's. Come to think about it I don't remember a single post where someone liked them on an atv. Maybe someone else will chime in. But here is the problem that I have with even trying them at the stage of the game where you are at. Your Bike is not currently running right. Fix it by using what you know has been proven to work like the stock needles, like the 27.5 pilots. If you throw those dynojets on there and your bike is no better you will not be a Happy camper, I know I wouldn't be. Also once you get your needle assemblies I would put the clip in the second setting from the most rich. I know that is where my bike runs the best. Also it's alway's better to start rich and work toward leaner vs the other way around.
  18. I would buy two new OEM Needle Set's for $8.00 each and two 27.5 Pilots and keep the 290 mains and go from there. It's amazing how everything effects everything in these carbs. 23 2GU-1490J-00-00 NEEDLE SET $7.97
  19. You guy's are relentless, God I don't want to get on your Bad Side, lol Is Funny Though
  20. True on this. After owning a two stroke of some kind since 1976 you know what a good Idle sounds like.
  21. I am selling my OEM Stock Stator cover from my 2004 Banshee. The Cover is in good shape. No Cracks, Leaks. In addition to the cover you will get a Brand New Stator Cover Seal still stapled in the Bag from the Yamaha Dealer. If your stalling rolling through puddles chances are water is getting inside your stator cover and shorting out the ignition. This is good shape and working order. Both for $40.00 + shipping based on your zip code. New these two items cost $118.61 I also have a used Stator Cover Seal in good shape $6.00 + shipping based on your zip code. This may seem minuscule but someone may need this and it's $22.50 New.
  22. I'm looking to purchase for a reasonable price a Nice Aftermarket Stock Axle Sprocket Hub. Show me what you got. Thanks !
  23. This is exactly what I had to do a month or so ago. Sent my cylinders to Jeff at Fast. Got them Bored .020, Honed, Chamfered, New Weiso Pistons, Rings, Cylinder Base Gasket, Head Gasket, 4 Reed Gaskets, Shipping both ways. She runs like a top. I already had an MX Port Job so didn't need any porting. I think the whole thing ran me including shipping both way's a total of $415.00 Hey Bro, How you liking those Shocks ?
  24. Could also be the Bike was never jetted properly to begin with.
  25. This would be an idea Sootman unless you already have these screws. If you do have them then Yes you need to take those Idle screws out and do some more filing. I think the instructions said you should have 3/4" from the Carburator cylinder out to where the screw starts to screw in. I think I filed mine till I had 5/8" and it works great. Also if you have to do more filing make sure you don't get any shaving's inside the Carb's.
