Your right, I really don't go in that store very often but that's where he said you can get it. Oh well I'll go to Autozone. -

I went to my local Wal-mart and they didn't carry it, Damn I need a tube of this too. -
Did you put the slides back into the same carb they came out of ? They will go into either one but will not run right. Is your parking brake off ?

Don't take this lightly midlifecrisis. That idler gear pops of you will be in a world of hurt. Jeff at fast sells a new and improved bushing for $15.00

Anyone running tire balls these day's ? I did a search before starting this thread and I saw very little interest 4 years ago. I was wondering if that changed ?

I have the Modsquad cover with the flames and love it. Just my two cents.

First of all Don't let the Bike get you down, You will get it right, it just takes patience and knowledge which you are aquiring as you go. To the people that tell you to take it in. You gain no knowledge going down that road and will pay top dollar. Think of all the money your saving by doing it yourself even if you do spend money that doesnt alway's fix your problem. Really if you don't have pipes the 25 pilot should be fine. If your running a stock airbox with the stock lid the 200 mains should be fine. But you will have to up your mains if you run the stock airbox without the lid. If this is the case I would probably start with a 230 to 240 main based on your elevation. Also you really need to run a leak down test. I just made my own tester and did this on my bike. But this NEEDS to be done. I think I paid $25 or $30 dollars in parts to make my own. It took me about 2 hours including trip time to get all the parts. Take it 1 step at a time and try not to get frustrated because you can do this.

Thanks for this info. I never thought about what you said like that before. Next time I need chain and sprockets I think I'll go 14/43
-
This is true too. Also don't forget that when you change sprockets you may need to add a link to your chain or take a link out. When I went from my 14/41 to 13/41 gear setup which was awhile ago I took I know 1 but maybe 2 links out of the chain. Also just for your knowledge be aware that they do make half links. This is all fun if its your Hobby so if not it's work, lol...

I run 13/41 and love it but I also do 80% trail riding. Even the Wide open straightaways with a 13/41 gearing imo is plenty fast. I think you lose something on the order of 6 mph top speed going from a 14/41 to a 13/41 setup. You can tweak you top speed in more detail changing your rear sprocket by 2 mph either faster or slower by each additional tooth or deletion of 1 tooth.

Hey guy's, It end's up I spoke to soon last night. When I did my leak down test I left the little hand pump connected to the air fitting. I was losing the pressure right there. So I ran the test two more times disconnecting the pump after I got the 6 psi into the system and each test thereafter I lost 1/2 pound after 6 minutes. So all is good. -

Yea, I was pretty sure this was going to be the answer. I just needed a kick in the butt. Thanks Boston I'll post what I find. -
Ok Guy's, Had Jeff Bore my cylinder's .020 and new pistons and new top end gasket's, rings, etc.. I'm still putting the bike back together. I did a leak down test. Started at 6 psi and after 6 minutes the pressure was at 3. So I lost 3psi after 6 minutes starting from 6 psi. What do you guy's think or what would you do ? Thanks!

Hey Adam, I just noticed your from Virginia Beach. I wouldn't have known until reading your post here and you mentioned the word Slades. I was like where are you from and Yea, I've ridden at Slades a couple of times. Small World. Does Slades still charge like $10.00 for the day. It's been about 10 years since I rode there. I barelly remember it. I believe there was like a small house near and before the entrance and some dude walks out to get your money. This summer me and my neighbor are going to Rock House WV for 5 or 6 day's. We did it last year and had a blast. Paul

As of right now I've decided to continue using the stock oem carb intake. When I get time on my hands I will use Bigboybanshee's idea of calling Jeff and talking to him about a billet intake for the stock carbs. I will also use Ticktock's idea of fabricating the airbox where it needs to be with a mig welder. My neighbor right next door owns one and he's one of my riding buddies. He owns a Yamaha 700 Raptor, Hahaha, very good guy though. Right now I'm still in the middle of my winter build on my Banshee. I have fabricated my own leak tester and am in the process of leak testing before I go to bed tonight. Thanks to everyone so far who has given input to the subject matter.

Different Types Of Boyesen Reeds. Whats The Difference?
Poolman replied to bansh_88's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I do know that the pro series is carbon fiber reeds and the other one is not. You can google boyeson and go to there website. They explain the differences quite well. Check it out. -
That would be no fun then. I love to get all dirty, lol. I guess I'll just use the stock intake when the VForce3 Reeds get here. I'll just cut the rubbers lips off and then I can still go puddle smashing. I was just hoping I could eliminate the stock crossover tube but keep the benefit of it.
-
Wish I could man. I ride through puddles of water all the time. I'd have those filters flooded in no time.
-
Just ordered VForce3 Reeds and would like to get an Intake but heard it will set the carbs back enough where I wouldn't be able to use stock air box. Is there Any Billet Intakes where I can still use Stock Airbox ? My Carbs are stock.
-
I'm pretty sure it takes 1 1/2 quarts. It will be in the Fluids and capacity section of the Clymers Manual.
