ok, AK got me thinking. were you actually able to rotate the crank around for a full rotation? did the piston go to tdc and then start back down? i forgot you were using stock pistons and i didnt think about the fact that if you have a +4mm stroke and put a stock head on, itll never make it to tdc.

put the caliper in it at bdc and turn it one revolution. the stroke should read 58mm.

if the motor is together, you can get a digital caliper (or dial caliper, vernial caliper etc.) and measure the stroke through the spark plug hole.

i dont think snop was telling you to buy the kit. i think he was saying that since the kit didnt come with regulator/rectifier, it probably already has one so all you need is a battery. i think the link was just for illustration purposes :biggrin:

sounds like theyre still gonna sell parts, they just wont be a dealership anymore. if thats the case, who cares?

measure the stroke. stock is 54mm and +4 is 58mm. you're gonna need 795 series pistons if its a long rod (115mm rods instead of 110mm). otherwise 513's will work. it needs to be ported, and 4mill domes or a cut head is preferred over the spacer plates.

pistons should cost between 150-200 and boring/honing the jugs should be around 50-100. sounds like someones trying to rape you at 675. thats alot of money for labor.
