  1. I went to +1 front on my raptor and like it a lot better now. It helps keep the motor in the band longer I was always looking for more gears in washes. disconnecting the speed sensor helps also but that is only active in 5th gear. so if its getting beat before that it won`t help much. From what I had seen online there is quite a bit fluctuation in hp in them coming out of the factory as nuch as 7hp. Mine has the k&n intake, hmf slip on, white bros version of the dobeck. My banshee is a basic bolt on bike with t5`s I think it would be faster but I don`t think by a whole lot. I plan to eventually throw in more cam and compression at the raptor to see what it will do.
  2. ther are several different styles to lower the bike for flat track supermoto. some have multiple holes for different settings. if that is whats done to it you should be able to find the stock piece pretty easy and fairly cheap. I have seen the on ebay for like 20.00
  3. I would start with a compression test to see if the top end is in good shape. A ported shee should beat a stock even a somewhat modified raptor. unless the port was bad to begin with. Where is he beating you drags, overall on the trail? If your sticking with strickly trails particulary tight ones. you might be better off with suspension to help you because you already have quite a few engine mods. Since your new to banshee`s you might just need to change your ridding style some to accomidate the shee.
  4. haha looks like babanshee and I were on the same wave length. it probably took me ten minutes to post since one hand in cast and I can`t type with both hands anyway.
  5. racelogic sells do it yourself porting templets. they cut them out on a cnc for your style of porting then you scribe the cylinder and go to work. I have heard a few people say they liked it. but at the same time I have never personally ridden or seen the stuff first hand. I guess its like 80 bucks for a magnetic templet to put in your cylinders
  6. I do occasionally mainly after the monsoons have started
  7. If you never have done it before throw some budget shocks up front and lowering kit in the rear. Go out run a few practices and beginner races to see if you even like it before you start throwing money at a set up. You may love it but you also might think it looked like fun but its just not for me. Some tracks have a open traction night so you can run knobbies. you just have to check the ones in your area to see what you can do.
  8. it only works with a leagers chassis from what I have been told.
  9. it may have changed at the time I talked to fireball they were making them for them. but they didn`t sound to happy with what was going on.
  10. This is crazy I am growing very tired of the goverment It may be time to start planning another tea party if this keeps up. I have signed four of those letter me the wife and 2 kids my parents have signed and sending the info to a bunch of friends. I hope they sign it and pass it on to their as well.
  11. http://www.motoxposure.com/tv/video/letthekidsride.htm That video and there are few links on the petition page to get some more info. It`s really not a whole lot to go by. A friend went to go buy his kid a bike today and found out through honda and yamaha about it. They have pulled the sales information about the bikes from their web sites. So as of right now I am still learning about it myself.
  12. I would have put it elsewhere but I thought it would generate more attention here and it does have to do with riding.
  13. I don`t know how many have heard of this but there is a ban on youth quads and bike for riders under 13. It is due to the federal allowable lead content in the paint. It has forced all the major manufactures to pull the bikes off the floors and stop production. I don`t know how much of an issue it is for them to change paint types. Maybe this a way for the tree hugers to try and kill the sport. To me its really only an issue if your in the habit of letting your kids chew on the frame or something. there are a few petitions going around to have lifted. I will provide a link to one in case you fill like signing it. Thanks http://www.tomself.com/
  14. do you have an air leak someplace or did you clean that piston?
  15. just so you know thats a ims tank you correct on the 5.6 gal. good luck with your sale
  16. yes you will see less at the tires however I do not know how the ratios work out either. I think you typically have like 15 to 25% loss at the whells compared to the crank.
  17. I know this may sound stupid but do a plug check you may have to run leaner jetting on one side. If the leak down and everything checks out fine. The one cylinder maybe running more efficent than the other one. It could be from a variety of reasons casting flaws, rings worn more on one side, maybe tighter bore due to quality of machining, etc.
  18. I think thats the durablue lowering kit they sell at rmatv I believe it says not recomended for jumping on them. Although I have seen people do it on small tt jumps
  19. if you don`t want to spend a whole lot look at getting one that is for testing small engines like lawn mowers and weedeaters. echo makes a pretty decent one for testing small engines it has a dual thread fitting on it and it works on banshees. nice thing about it, it has shorter and smaller diameter hose requiring less volume to get the gauge to read.
  20. while you have the exhaust off pull the head and have it milled to raise your compression some that will compliment the pipes. Having the head milled isn`t very expensive at all only around 50. bucks. also you may try playing with the gearing some to compliment your riding conditions.
  21. A lot depends on where you ride and terrain there is no one perfect tire. Every rider will want something different depending on there experience. I run the pure sports bandits on the rear of mine they probably don`t handle the best but they last a long time and are very heavy. But with all the cactus shale and other sharp rocks rocks around here I have never punctured them to the point of needing plugs. Don`t get me wrong they do have slow leaks, but the sidewalls are stiff enough you could proabably ride them flat with no problems. I haven`t really found anything for the front that I am really happy with. I usually run holeshots or razrs up there but since I run 23-7-10 my choices are kinda limited. I tpically have to run slime or something to keep air in them for any length of time.
  22. I think all yfz shocks had rezzies raptors didn`t
  23. shees are very reliable I would run mine a whole season of desert racing including practices with no problems other than occasional flats. the desert races would be any where from 50 to 100 miles long. I would only rebuild the top end once a year. Most of the time with reliability issues its just a matter of the owner not taking care of things maintenance wise.
  24. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/rvs/1031998133.html beats drag banshees hmm sounds like he used to sell used cars
  25. do you have the dyno results on these? how many times do you have to wind them to get top end power.
