Hmm....someone told me that, but I forget who it was. Permits will be issued for two wheel cycles and 3 and 4 wheel ATVs. ATVs must meet the following requirements: a) wheelbase of less than 55 inches width of less than 45 inches c) total vehicle weight less than 500 lbs. d) travel on 3 or 4 low pressure tires e) has a seat that is designed to be straddled by operator I think everything is covered by the title, maybe that's what they meant. Idk about this FHP exhaust ordinance they have either...wtf? Florida laws definately suck when it comes to ATVs, I'll be the first person to tell you that. I wish I was in Texas or Arizona or something.

I got your PM. Sorry I won't be around...next time let me know for sure though, cause I am more than down...this just came at the wrong time... http://www.atvflorida.com/where.php I hear nothing but good things about Croom and Ocala. I have personally never been to any of these parks...I have been building the bike up from stock, and haven't made the time to travel yet. EDIT- I want to plan a FL ride with anyone who would be interested...I plan on posting about it after the holidays. The more people, the merrier. Also, I know someone who lives near croom and rides there almost every weekend (he's back in Naples now though for the holidays). He can tell you whatever you want to know about Croom. Just let me know if you want to know anything...I think you have to have the bike registered, and buy a $50 year round pass too...

I think a lot of the "members advertising for free" thing is pride. People love letting other people know how built and fast their bikes are. I personally don't care to brag about my bike, and don't show all my pride for it. There's always someone faster than you out there...and the sooner you realize it the better. You can't let shit go to your head like some guys do. I don't care how fast my bike is at all...I know it's fast enough for me to have fun, and I'm always searching for more power and performance, and when my budget allows for it I'll have it. A lot of you guys have bikes that would smoke mine...you've been doing this a hell of a lot longer than me, and know more than me. But to be honest...I don't think I want any other Banshee than the one I have right now. To me my bike means a lot...it's the first quad I actually went out and bought on my own, the first one I've truly worked on by myself, I feel like I have a connection with it, and being a part of the HQ and the help you guys give me here could not be replaced with anything. I feel like we are a family here. For me this is a hobby, and definately a passion...that's why I'm here. A lot of guys have let this corporate and product placement bullshit take them over, and it's a shame. We're all on the same team here. There's enough other guys hating on Banshees, we don't need to hate each other.

Well, I don't do it purely for fun... in fact I'd rather not have to do it at all. (Yes, it is fun and gets the adrenaline pumping...but you shouldn't be evading pursuit, and it's dangerous for everyone.) All I want is some land to ride on LEGALLY. Once I have someplace to ride without being bothered, I won't bother anyone else either. But when you say I can't even ride across the street from my house....? Come on. It's become a matter of principle now.

Welcom to the HQ. By the looks of your post, you should fit in just fine here.

I'm basically looking to get some more power, and some more mphs. From my current set up...larger carbs, porting, and the stroker crank I think will do it. Unless I should be looking for another route?
-
Alright...all my mods are in my sig. My question is...where do I go from here? I was thinking: -4 mil -HJR Dune Port -28mm flat sides Does anyone run a similar setup to this, or have any reccomendations? Are these carbs even big enough to feed it? (I'm trying to do motor work only right now, suspension stuff will follow.)

The Shoutbox/Sandpit was bitchin but I guess it's not coming back yet?

Well, when I was pulled over on my Big Bear (at the time I was 16 mind you), I was instantly accussed of stealing it. Then when they saw the number on the frame was chipped (it's in the left front wheel area, prone to rocks) they put me in handcuffs and tossed me in the car saying they were going to call my dad and he was on his way, and that he was pissed at me. I also offered for them to follow me home and I'd gladly show them the title and book for it...after I gave them all of the specs... 2001 Yamaha Big Bear 400cc 4x4 blah blah. 30 minutes later my dad is called, apparently they had someone elses dad? They told me I couldn't ride it home (like 1.5 miles) and I didn't have a phone to call anyone to tow me. They wanted me to push it home the whole way. I wear all the proper riding gear, ride off road, and chill when I'm near roads, and coast through to my next riding area. I don't ride in peoples yards and tear their shit up either...it's all private land, with no housing on it...it's just woods and sandpits for now. There's no construction, 0 signs, and I've been riding in this one area since 2003. (And I have talked to other people who actually lived here a while back...it goes back much further than 2003.) The county has been purchasing millions upon millions of dollars in land recently, and with every property purchase they sanction it as a reserve, or a state park, or something along those lines. This has already happened MULTIPLE times which they said "After the purchase, it will be designated ATV land" and they were going to open a park. However, once the lands acquired they shut it down. I don't think you'd see the whole picture unless you are from around here. At least some FL guys can agree with me here. The amount of money the county spends on buying and shutting down land, and outlawing 4x4s is disgusting. This is the same county that wanted to ban Hooters because it didn't fit the image of the city. http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2008/jun/09...park-immokalee/ EDIT- And there is no mug shot... I am currently 10 and 0. Squad cars can't go through beach sand, and nothing beats knowing your terrain.

I hate...how all of my riding areas are being taken away, marked as trespassing areas, and having to run from the cops everytime I try and ride! I ride the same places I have been for years, that's not about to change now. Give us some fucking land to ride on, and there won't be any more problems!!! Every other recreationial activity around here has their designated areas where they are allowed to practice what they love. But you would swear riding a fourwheeler carries the same weight as murder. From here on out, there is no stopping for you assholes. Florida Fish and Wildlife, and Collier County PD is about to find out what Banshees are made of. Long live ATV riding, and even longer live the Banshee. [/End Rant]

Those pics came out great, wish I had a camera man lol.

Hahah anytime you go to a party in the woods, everyone wants a piece of the 'Shee.
-
You can trail ride with pods... I do and have no problems. If there is water...find a way around it, or find a way to hydro plane across it. Avoid it like the plague. Obviously if you go mud bogging and splashing through puddles, your bike will suck in water.
-
Did you order a full reed system, or just petals? No port work either in the jugs, right? Is the timing plate and head and domes being put on?
-
That would be best. Once you know exactly how it runs, and how it behaves, you'll know what you want to change... Don't rush on anything either, because it sucks wasting money. For example...when I piped it, I noticed there was a flat spot in the powerband, and I didn't like the fact that I had to clutch it to create power. That's when I put the head and domes on, and advanced the timing. Learning the bike each time you mod it will help you a lot. I started off by just messing around with the stock bike...seeing when I could and couldn't do wheelies in the powerband (how far can I push it before it flips? Where in the RPMs will the bike NOT come up?), when the tires would spin, when they wouldn't spin, how it pulls in each gear (and from different throttle positions), etc. etc. Then I piped it and did air filters, and did the same thing. Then I did the head and domes, and did the same thing. It really makes you a better rider just having seat time on it, and messing around. Especially when you understand how each mod effects the bike. It probably sounds like a bunch of bullshit, but when I know everything about my bike, I think it makes me a hell of a lot better rider.
-
How does your bike do now? Would you say you find yourself looking for another gear often, or not even hitting 5th or 6th gear? Jw how your bike works now for where you ride, so I could offer some advice on what I think I would do.
-
Now that you mention it, I think someone has told me that before. Never looked into it though. I go to the track from time to time...usually when I get some motor/bolt on work done to see how my numbers improve. I'm not a serious dragger at all, just seeing what I can do with a trail bike.

Just bought.. any tips for install?
05.Banshee.SE replied to hollisatp's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Let me know how it goes, and what you think of it please. I want to get one. -
'Shee ran hard all the way up to 200hp, but then got soft on me.
-
T5s are the way to go man! (Especially when you get into porting.) I'd rather have T6s over Fattys.
-
Lookin great Dinner.

You're 16? Shit man, you know a lot about Banshee shit, and have a damn sweet build going on! I would have guessed you were much older.

I think I'm going to buy everything from Jeff just to piss you off! Example: See how this works... I buy from a well known national site, say Rocky Mountain ATV. This is the second bullshit thread that comes up, and everyone always reads things like this, because it's interesting. I learn about this FAST guy, hear all these people vouching for him, and I become a customer of his just like everyone else. Insanely fast shipping? Incredibely low prices? Who wouldn't. Point: You think being an asshole like this is going to hurt Jeff, IMO you're giving him more free publicity now more than his sponsorship alone would have ever given him. It's situational irony. So: Thanks for the FAST support. It's nice when members support those who support them (or their site.)

I have the ones in my sig...I'm thinking about going to a flatter black (no decals, more like yours), and a race cut but I haven't decided yet... EDIT- Your pipes are rusting just like mine are...any tips to stop that? I just recently sanded mine down so I need a new paint option that won't rust like that.
