  1. Dang man, hopefully he's ok now and starting to ride again. Im 16 so I understand. It's amazing though how after something like that you can not even feel stuff until a little while later.
  2. Lookin real good man. I'd say next step is new plastics and some powder coating
  3. Do the mods you said you were going to do than get an adjustable timing plate, set it at +4. As far as porting contact Brandon at Wildcard Racing (Slobanshee06) he'll help you with anything does great work and has a great turn around time, he'll be able to set you up real nice
  4. I'd say F.A.S.T., Rocky Mountain ATV, and the for sale forum here is pretty much everyhting youll need
  5. Yeah thats a bad trade if you plan to do mods, the T-6's are pretty much only good for stock you can do a few mods with them, but they start being restrictive pretty quickly when you start modding
  6. Yeah I tought about trying to come up with some sort of FI system for my shee, I put it on paper and tried to touble shoot it to think of any potential problems but havn't really got past that, just got involved in other stuff
  7. What you can do though is if you are a welder or you know someone that can weld you can, cut it down 2 inches, make sure you dont do straight cuts. Cut it to in almost like a square 'S' shape and then sleeve it.
  8. Looking good man. yeah during my build I decided to do the same, pics dont show it though.
  9. He man here's a link on what I did to mine Ceramic Coating, they came out great and I did my cylinders too. I would use like 220 grit sand paper, or a wire wheel anything finer than 220 will take a long time because it will get gumbed up fast. I havn't been able to test these things out in the woods yet, but its hella cheap it cost me like $12 in paint and from dropping then on the counter they seemed to have held up pretty good it didnt flake or chip
  10. Of course most people on her are going to say bad idea because this is a banshee website, but I say it depends on what you really want. If you want to get a street bike and you can see more use out of it I say go for it. I have considered selling mine a few times to buy a sled because I would get more use out of it, but decided not to just because Im just going to put some dough aside here and there so I can have both... of course after my shee build is done though. But good luck bro and just do whatever you think will serve you better

    front shocks

the 2 main ones that guys really like works or elka's. Im getting ready to get some elka's. As far as getting stuck, I know with gas shocks when the temperatures get cold outside like good ways below freezing theyll freeze in whatever position theyre in.
  13. Thanks for the tip I was having trouble before and decided to just put it back together because I really had no reason to take the basket off, so I didnt put too much effort into, but I would like to replace the whole clutch at some point. Oh BTW instead of a shop towel a penny works great, just lodge it in the gears, it wont harm them and it comes out by barely spinning the gears with your fingers
  14. The t-6's are sometimes underestimated, but every builder I know plus right on the toomey site it says for stock only so you can do very little mods with the T-6's... maybe just like ported reeds or aftermarket reeds and maybe maybe if your lucky a head the head is really pushing it but anything more and the T-6's wont be making as mush as the T-5's. Many guys get the 6's mod there shee a little and will problem post on this saying that there is no problem with the 6's, but I bet if the put 5's on there shee they would make more power. Go with the 5's you'll want to go faster which means more mods

    Fox Float

Fox makes 3 different shocks for a quad, The rears are pretty nice, but are a traditional gas shock with spring and piggy back , they are nice though. Then theres 2 types of front shocks. One as 2 remote reseviors to adjust the gas and the air adjustment valve and the other hsa just the air adjustment valve. Ive only ridden them once, a buddy of mine has the ones with only the adjustment valve on his hill climb quad and his mountain sled, they both worked very well with this shock. If you plan to have an all around quad or hill climber/ drag racer go with the ones with just the air adjustment valve, if your ride MX alot and do some trail go with the ones with the valve + the 2 resevoirs
  16. Naw its shitty pics, I went and looked at it cuz I just happened to be going by where he is, it's actually pretty clean
  17. Id say it depends on your riding. What I mean is if you ride in the same place all the time and your comp. is at 155 there youll be ok, but if your altitude changes up and down from where you did your comp test and its 155 then I would run 100 octane. About 155 is where you need to start considering it. If you get to 160 I'd run 100, 165 Id consider going 110, 170-175 Id run 112-115, and you'll probably be in there somewhere if your higher than 175 or 180 then you need to go higher and Id talk to your builder and see what he suggests
  18. As fouled out said to each his own and we can argue about this forever, running cast pistons are kind of taking achance and alot of people have problems, but then again alot of people dont. It just depends and as I said if you just bought cast you can run them for a little while. If you have the money to do forged and you dont plan on going to a bigger bore later on then go ahead, but if you do plan on running a bigger bore I would stick with cast for now. Im only one person and can only give you my opinion but That would be my decision

    cuting

I havn't personally ridden a shee with the fronts cut because I havnt got my new plastics yet. However, from my experience with other quads and what other people have said, there really isnt that much of a difference when you cut them... thats mostly with mud though
  20. Yeah I didnt mean use butt joints I wouldn't trust that either... Over lap like AK said, That's what car builders do to shorten frames so it will work for a swinger. Yeah if your looking at shortening it to get it to hook up there are alot of other things you can do, because unless you race MX I wouldnt advise shortening it.
  21. Already adressed this issue man, With my mods 340 main jets and needle on second clip... for you, it helps to know what mods you got... If stock try 280 and do a plug chop might be rich, but atleast you wont burn it up and you can go from there! other than that you should be ok, Im getting a Dial-A-Jet I havnt really seen anyone on here use them, drag racers use something simular but not exactly, should help alot with temp changes and a little alttitude
  22. You know I did have to send a letter to the editor about it though, which I hope they publish. After reading "You'd be hard pressed to find a faster and more reliable banshee without swapping out the motor or running on alcohol." I was a little annoyed, so I sent a letter that said "If you guys plan to do an article on a banshee or any quad for that matter, atleast make it accurate and use and a good builder." I then listed Kevin Herr, Jeff at F.A.S.T., and Brandon at Wildcard Racing, and said I garuntee that any of these builders 4mil stock bore banshee's will keep up with that duncan racing shee. Then stated there are multiple other good builders that can do the same and asked him to check out the HQ here just to see what actually happens in the world of banshee.
  23. Forged are a little lighter, stronger, and have more longevity, but if you already bought cast stick with them theyll be ok. If you have an option go forged, but stick with watch you got its not worth it since you just bought new cast one's
  24. Yeah man I want to see how yours come out, when you get done can you PM me a link to the pics. Good luck man and like I said just take your time and they should come out good. BTW 05, your toomeys' are looking like they are getting rusty. Use some Duplicolor high temp ceramic coating. Its the 1200 degree formula and you can get it at any auto parts store
  25. That is a great idea to save space! just make sure you turn your fuel off haha
