  11. Dave's (dajogejr) buddy, I think his name is Evan cut the trans. Banshee transmission ratios 1st 2.46 2nd 1.81 3rd 1.50 4th 1.25 5th 1.04 6th .875 RZ350 transmission ratios 1st 2.57 2nd 1.77 3rd 1.31 4th 1.08 5th .962 6th .889
  12. Have a RZ350 ratio duneable override 1-5 neutral down tranny for sale. Was sent out and gone through by the guy who cut it not too long ago. The 3-4 slider and the shift forks were replaced. Has not been re-installed since I received it back. I don't really want to sell, but I really need 6 gears for what I do and times are tough. $350 shipped to the lower 48. Thanks
  13. So what is your review on this head? If I remember correctly they cut there heads out of 7075 which is more pricey than the 6061. Will they cut you a custom dome if you need one?
  14. for racing, when you dump the clutch the engine has a tendency to pull towards the rear of the bike causing the chain to jump on hard takeoffs.
  15. Does anyone make a solid motor mount to replace the stock rubber style? Has anyone tried this? Would it lead to a cracked case?
  16. Does anyone know what the outlet diameter of the exhaust port is on the cubs as cast? Thanks
  17. I use Northwest Sleeve for my sleeving needs. Who ever you send them out to, they are usually port matched as part of the process. Good luck.
  18. How long has this been out? How the hell did I miss that? Does it kill the engine when you yank up on the shifter? Can I hook it up to the air shifter to kill the engine when I hit the button to shift?
  19. My guess is that he bent the shift fork shaft that the two shift forks ride on. This would explain why it was hard to get out of gear and finally into neutral. Those forks account for 1-4 with 5th and 6th engaged by the single fork on the opposite side. If the shaft is bent enough it will cause binding as the shift fork now cannot move like it should and it will be stuck in gear. You are going to have a hell of a time getting that thing out if it is bent that bad. Sure have,If you get the correct engine/ground speed, you just pull back on the gear selector and she slides right in, no problems. You should see the look on peoples faces! A car transmission is not like a motorcycle transmission and cannot be down shifted without the clutch. Shifting without the clutch is no big deal, the engine only needs a little bit of a interuption to get it to go into the next gear. You start slamming on the gear selector and downshifting going down hill and really abusing the thing, then you have a different story.
  20. Very well put, but there is two things that I did not see so I am going to chime in. The first being that carbide does not like interupted cuts (the starting and stoping of going through the ports) so if you take a big cut with a carbide bit you will most likely break it (you may break it anyway). The other bing if you do not chamfer the ports, not only do you run the risk of catching a ring on the sharpness of the port window, but the 90* edge of the port window acts as a scraper actuall removing the oil for the piston which is a very bad thing. Can you say seizure?
  21. +1 for alf, He hooked me up with some non-banshee related items for a heck of a good deal. As for the Banshee Depot, he has some hard to find items on the shelf, and the customer service isn't bad either. I was looking for .100" spacer plate for my new build and was unable to obtain one (I usually have someone cut me custom gaskets, spacers and such, but the closest thickness he could get was like .093 or something) and they had one on the shelf, ready to ship. Good place to go if you need reeds (especially custom). He used to make fiber reeds for th VF2's so we could run nitrous, I dont know if he still makes them or not.
  22. What do you think of the banshee cooling system of a whole? Is there any room for improvement (even theoretically)? Most other two stroke cylinders that I have seen enter the cylinder, have quite a robust water jacket around the exhaust port and then exit out of the head. To me it is amazing that the banshee cooling system works at all with inlet in one side of the head and out the other. Its almost like it is only pulling heat out of the head and combustion chambers as there is no REAL flow path to through the cylinders.
  23. Does anyone know the condition that the cases were in before this thing was assembled? My guess is the that case failed first, causing the tranny to grenade. How were you riding when this happened? i.e. Dumping the clutch in second, climbing a hill, etc? Always best to 'go through' the engine even if you think that it might have the least bit of an issue. Its cheaper that way. Thinking about selling the mini twisters?
