This is good advise. It sounds as though there are multiple issues, mostly due to a lack of maintance by the previous owner. These are all fixable but I would suggest that you not continue to run the bike until you have gone through and addressed the obvious problems I.E that filter.

It's hard to see from the pics but it almost looks like the carbs have already been drilled out for idle screws. Am I wrong?

That filter you have on there serves no purpose, you would be just as well to run no filter at all. You can't seriously think that's proper.

here is just one option. My advise is to go with l.e.d."s and make sure they have a metal housing and polyacrilic lens. Some guys have mounted them to their existing grab bars or frame which also look really good. Check out these guys for lights, www.customdynamics.com

You can get a pre cut through several companies such as maeir, fullbore and laker but there is very little chance you will get an exact match on color.

If it's 2 into 1 @ the silencer then it is most likely a dmc. If it's 2 into 1 @ the expansion chamber then I'm not sure.

Unless I read it wrong that's $255 for a bare metal one and $305 for powdercoated. Then you have to puchase the carrier seperate. Not a horrible price but there are better deals to be had I.M.O.

Our general rule is 5 gal per bike per day and in 10 years we have never run short on fuel.

O.K. this happened to a close friend of ours, actually you can't say it happened to him cuz he pretty much did it to himself. Anyways our buddy's workin in his shop and realizes two days before a big dune trip that the new rear rims he odered are two different widths. So being the long time machinest that he is he quickly takes the larger one off the bike, puts it on the lathe and sections out an inch from the middle then neatly welds it back together. It was just as he was putting it back on the bike when he glanced over at his sons bike and noticed he had two different size wheels as well.
