Stock rear tires are 20x10x9, meaning they are 20 inches tall, 10 inches wide and fit 9 inch rims. Stock front tires are 21x7x10, meaning they are 21 inches tall, 7 inches wide and fit on 10 inch rims. Popular alternative rear tire sizes are 22x11x9 and 18x10x9. The taller 22 inch tires work better for mud riding and snow riding and the smaller 18 inch tires are strictly for MX racing. The most common and best all around tire height is the stock 20 inch size. The middle number which is the width of the tire is pretty much useless info, they're usually either 10 or 11 inches wide and either width will fit on your stock or aftermarket rims. The last number representing rim size is 9 inches on a stock Banshee and 99% of sport quads. MX racers will run smaller 8 inch diameter rims and some guys prefer the looks of the 10 inch diameter rims. If you were to but a set of aftermarket rims, get 9 inch diameter ones. Alterantive front tire sizes are usually just the first number, which is how tall the tire is. Stock is 21 inches tall, but 22 and 23 inch tall tires are available. They give ya better ground clearance but you'll sacrifice some handling traits and they'll wieght a little more too. MX racers will run 19 and 20 inch tall front tires where you don't need ground clearance and the smaller diameter tires will handle better than say a 21 incher would. If you buy new tires, get some 21 inch diameter tires and you'll be happy, if you want more ground clearance.... get 22's and if your feeling like you wanna try something different then try out a set of 23 inch diameter tires. All front rims are 10 inch diameter on sport quads. Utility quads run 12 inch diameter rims front and rear.

I cant' find my "250r" thread. Maybe I didn't post any of my 250r pictures on the bansheehq ?? i dunno, I sure thought I did. So I did a search for "250r" and like everytime I try to use the search function, I find 50 threads with the word "250r" mentioned once and can't find the thread I want. Im too stoopid to use the search function I guess.

Oooo its comin' along. I was searching the HQ for my old "My250r" thread, I was going to post some updated pictures. I did a TON of mods to it allready, some pretty neat stuff. ... the one and only meat.

The reason some atv parts are more expensive is because of the R&D costs thats what I was told.

http://www.werproducts.net/ I just surfed thier site and.....they don't make um for Banshees. YFZ450s and Raptors, but not the Banshee. There's a few pics of Borich's YFZ on thier site. Check it out sometime.

I'll agree on the -2 swingarm. If you go aftermarket make sure you get the Honda style round axle bearing carrier. Iv got a Janssen Racing -2 and its a great swingarm. 4130 chromoly, tigged up and chromed. Highly recommend a Janssen.

drop a tooth on your front sprocket. stock is 14, try out a 13. Its not really a powergain..... but ya know how it works... gearing down will give ya that low end your wanting. Its "give and take" tho, you'll lose some top end speed. A sprocket should cost less than $15, its worth a try. I run a 13 on mine and like it, im not WOT in 6th gear very often and I ride trails so the 13 works for me. Ya gotta shift a little more often with the 13, but you get used to it. Shavin' the head will give you real world "low end" powergains. Get "Boonman" to hook you up with a shave. Its not expensive. I see you have an '04 model. Take of the snorkle attached to the airbox lid and if your feelin' crazy, take the whole farkin' airbox lid off. If you do decide to remove the airbox lid you'll need something to hold the airfilter tight in the airbox so you don't suck in dirt. Aluminum flanges that bolt to the inside of your airbox and then you attach the airfilter to this flange is one method, another method is to just bolt the stock plastic airfilter flange to the inside of the airbox. You'll understand when you look in your airbox. FYI, the airbox lid is designed to hold the airfilter in place, you will absolutly have to rig up the filter if you decide to keep the airbox lid off. You'll also need to rejet for the extra airflow. Stock main jets are 200. Start with 250s and work up and down with the jet sizes until you find the right one.

Whew its been awhile since iv dealt with the TORS, but I thought there was only one TORS box, the little one on the left side under the gastank. Unplug that bastard 4 sure. If memory serves me right, that little box should be the one with the triple wired triangle plug. -
No. Advancing the timing is something that should be done to compliment a set of aftermarket pipes. You will feel a powergain with a "degree key" or a timing plate, but not like you would if you had aftermarket pipes... and then advanced the timing. The stock timing is setup to work with the stock pipes. Correct way: Pipes first, then timing advance. Bass Ackwards way: Advance the timing, then pipes.

Thats how the WER is setup. Top XC Pro's are running the WER damper. And I feel your pain with the stupid LSR steering stem. I bought a trail tech barclamp\speedo-holder\headlight setup and it wouldnt mount on my LSR stem. I had to rig it up to mount it. My handle bars are mounted super duper high up, I like it alot. Its a little weird at first, but its great when your standing up on the feetpegs.

last year was the first time for GNCC racing in Texas. Pissed alot of east coasters off that they had to travel to Texas for a National. All the Pro's raced it tho, Yokley won there last year.
-
Look into the "W.E.R" brand too....
-
They make "no link" swingarms but iv never heard of em used on a Banshee before. The no link setup is used alot on 250rs and when you run a no link swingarm on the R you have to use a different rear shock. I would assume it would be the same for the Banshee. A stock rear shock should be too long, depending where on the swingarm the shock mount is located. Since you got a shock with the swingarm "kit" you should be good to go. bolt it all together and then you'll know for sure if its setup right or wrong.
