  1. Ok, lets break this down so we are all clear. What did I say that was so unwarranted ? That Gibson arms are for "wealthy racers"? That is such a true statement..... because 1: They cost $1100 a set. I want everyones opinion on this question. Are $1100 dollar A-arms on the low end or high end of the A-arm price scale ? 2:They are made for racers. I want everyones opinion on this one too. How many people do you know personally that are trail riding, dune'ing or basically rececreational type riding... with Gibson long travel A-arms ? They are expensive and they are built for racing. warrented statement. Walter I couldnt agree more with you. Im not complaining that Gibson doesnt make Banshee LT arms. Im not questioning why they don't either, I fully understand the differences in the Banshees chassis and a 250r based racing chassis. And I can also understand why Gibson and ALL the big A-arm builders don't bother with Banshee parts, Banshees are not ideal MX or XC ATV's and the chassis setup mentioned earlier. Are you implying that I am stoopid ?? I'll betcha we both could fab a nice set of YFZ450 A-arms, very similar to all the big name builders arms..... and we could charge $200 for em to cover the material cost to build em... or we could charge $1100, $200 towards materials and $900 towards R&D, labor and advertising. Gibson, Roll, Houser, Lonestar and a ton of others charge alot of money for thier parts. And they're worth it..... if you can afford it. To me...... $1100 is expensive no matter what the product. Roll is outta control.... do you all know what Roll charges for a frame\arms\stem and swingarm ??? Someone take a guess. BTW Rolls not makin' frames anymore. QUOTE: Nobody uses Gibson's LT for racing in the woods, they're strictly MX arms. I wonder why ? Walter EVERYONE uses LT arms for GNCC racing. Ballance, Borich and Smiley all use ARS\Fx, Yokley and DuVall both use Roll Lobo, they're all using 18.5 inch shocks. And they are low.... not wide tho, they're setup around 45 inches wide, but they're low, not MX style low, but lower than a stock setups ground clearance. Thats why ARS\fx arms have been such a big hit this past season, they're LT arms with an arch in the lower arms for more ground clearance. A reverse Gullwing design if you will.... similar to Gibsons lower arm. They're not cheap either, I heard $1300 a set for ARS\fx. Jerimiah Jones is MX racing with ARS\Fx arms. All the big named long travel A-arms are expensive as hell and designed with the racer in mind. warrented statement. When I first posted in this thread, my intentions were to inform people also, and it seems to me like you got very defensive and there's nothing wrong with agruing your point back. But frankly nothing I said wasnt true and I never meant to "start a pissing match". Im just a very mellow dude with an open mind who likes to bullshit about kwads. There's nothing more that I despise than an internet pissing match. If you felt offended because I didn't support Gibson's products, Im sorry bout that. I know your pals with the K&K crew and thats cool and all. I have no personal vendetta against K&K, ECATV or the Gibson products. K&K is a well respected vendor in the ATV MX scene and so is ECATV. John Natalie used Gibson arms last season and finished in second place overall.

  3. hook me up with an email adddy. i started around age 15, learned all my chords around that age. Been picking up bits and peices of songs ever since. Im the master at playing song intro's..... after the intro and the song goes into chords I lose interest. I like fingerpickin' stuff. Im not the greatest with those wild guitar solos, just causal easy going, good sounding stuff. I can play just about anything.... I can play Ralph Machio's part when he duels with Steve Via in "Crossroads"... I can play Pink Floyds entire Wall album.... I can play a shitload of Metallica, prolly every Metallica song now that I think about it... a bunch of Led Zep stuff, I can play Stairway from start to finish... except the solo stuff.... Im 32 years old now so Iv been playin' for about 15-17 years or so. There was a period of time where I didnt play for years, around age 21 to 25. Iv been playin heavily the past 5 years tho thanks to the internet and the ability to find Tabs easier.... and MP3's. I have 4 guitars, only one nice one, a black Fender acustic. My main ax is... believe it or not a Yamaha electric. I should own a nice electric but all my cash goes towards ATV's and EDIT: candy. anyways..... about 15 years. good to see you around again Wicked. You were a big time BHQ addict at one time and then one day you just up and dissapeared.
  4. All you guitar players should appreciate this tune... its not a Zep song, but its a great little acustic peice by a band named "Phish". The song is "The Inlaw Josie Wales" and here's the tab for it. http://emilstabs.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=27 Iv been playing\learning this song everynight for the past 2 months. Literally EVERY FUCKIN' NIGHT FOR 2 MONTHS. Iv got every note nailed My posting on BHQ has been way down lately..... and thats because of this frickin' song. I can email yas the MP3 for the song, I even have video\mpeg of the song where they played it live at Austin City Limits(great show). QUOTE FROM THE TAB: "So I just got back from summer 2000 tour and I was so moved by the 7-15 closer with "Inlaw" that I needed to figure out how to play it on guitar. Be warned, this song is TOUGH. Reading the tab is not enough, you almost have to get into a Trey-mindset to get all the nuances down. It would be almost useless to try to learn this song from tabs without it playing in the stereo next to you, as there are complex rhythms that can not be explained with tablature."

  6. Im another satisfied Amsoil user. Its the shizzzznite
  7. I remember when I first head that song, I just had to learn how to play that intro. Its a fun one to play. bron-y-aur stomp from the box set is another great guitar song from zep. And don't be buyin' a big fancy geetar for a new guitar player. Buy your buddies old guitar for $50 and if she gets into it, then upgrade. EDIT: yea.... what Led said... Like minds.....
  8. whats wrong with the banner. bansheezone is a no frills site there's no doubt about that, designed by the meatman himself. yea.... ive been on the roll team for about 7 years now, there's about 25 of us here that are on the Roll team. Yea..... definetly on the team.

  11. Here's my experience, take it for what its worth... but I had one of those alloyspecialties locknuts and couldnt keep the focker tight. Your not supposed to tork em down against the sprocket hub so tight that you bind up the axle, according to alloy specialties directions. You gotta get the nut tight enough so the sprocket hub won't rock back and forth on the axle splines, but loose enough that it doesnt bind the axle. Your supposed to lift the ass end off the ground and the axle should spin freely and the sprocket hub is nice and tight on the splines. Easy enough.............. then one day I notice my sprocket hub moves back and forth on the splines... just a little play.... but it wasnt cool. So I loosen the two allen heads on the axle nut and it turns in pretty good, stopped the sprocket hub from rockin' and the axle spinnin' freely. Check it again in a few week and same thing happens. Sprocket hub loose on the splines. So I re-tighten it again and wrap electrical tape on the axle threads at the axle nut. POS came loose again. I took it off and put on a LoneStar nut and havent had a problem since. The LSR nut is built similar to the Alloy Specalites nut... I don't know why I had problems with the AS nut, but its not my problem anymore, I sold it on Ebay a few months ago. FYI, Im using a LSR axle, and a billet LSR sprocket hub.
  12. I sure as hell would like to try, iv just renewed my AMA membership and I finally got a trailer to haul my kwad...... I wanna race my 250r tho and its not as race ready as I'd like it to be. Iv been selling off my spare Banshee parts to build up my R, so go put some bids on my auctions damit. Im so damn poor too and racing is a rich mans sport. That first race in Feburary sounds like its quite an experience, Iv'e been to a few D6 races in March and April and the guys are completly soaked, covered from head to toe in mud and its 40 degrees out and drizzling..... does that sound fun ??
  13. break out the die grinder tats and staaaaaaart grindin'.

  15. PRM swingarm skidplate wont mount up without chopping the skidplate. All other skids should bolt right up. The PRM won't fit without modifying it because the PRM plate covers the rear shock linkage. You have to cut the plate to fit around the linkage. Air die grinder and some patience and the PRM skid fits shorty swingarms.
  16. Your confused man. did you get the bearing carrier yet ? If so, are the bearings and seals installed in the carrier ? Take off the big snap ring that holds the brake caliper mount to the carrier, slide the bearing carrier into the swingarm, put the brake caliper mount back on the bearing carrier and put the big snap ring back on to hold the caliper mount to the carrier... edit: yea what Sredish said....
  17. QUOTE(Meat @ Nov 20 2004, 12:12 PM) Gibson doesn't make Banshee LT arms, besides... they're way overpriced if you ask me. gibson only caters to the wealthy racer. There's a-arms are made the same way and with the same materials as Quicksands, tig welded 4130 chomoly. That "Gibson" sticker raises the price about $400 bucks alone. It really is a nice sticker, its prolly worth the extra 400 bones. Quicksand need to develope a long travel setup for the banshee crowd. They make em for the YFZ450. Where has Gary been lately, I havent seen him on the boards in a while. wasssssssup walter.... the $400 dollar decal comment was me trying to be sarcastic. What do you think ? Have you ever known me to hang out with Dave Gibson ? Im willing to bet companies like LSR and Houser put in just as much R&D as Gibson did. . Explain please. Tig welded 4130 chromoly is tig welded 4130 chromoly is tig welded 4130 chromoly. Walt you know I like and respect you, and I don't want to sound condensending towards you, but concerning Quicksands YFZ LT arms... do you know how much research and development went into thier long travles? Hence the quote: "gibson only caters to the wealthy racer." Shoulda have said "wealthy MX racer". Agreed, LT arms on a Banshee are silly in a way. Janssen is the only one iv seen.... Dats sum cool info. Agreed. Just like LSR products can be bought everywhere, but Roll on the other hand, sells em like K&K\ECATV. K&K\ECATV should stay as the exclusive dealers, it makes better business sence for them..... and gives us poor suckers somthing to dream about owning someday. When I added the word "wealthy" before the word "racer".... Im sayin that Gibson LT A-arms are the most expensive LT A-arms on the market. Iv done some research on pricing and here's what I found. These prices are for a 250r.... Eyeball Engineering wants $725 LSR wants $838 Denton wants $875 Houser wants $950 Gibson wants $1100 Couldnt get a price on Roll or ARS\FX ARS\FX is the hot LT setup for XC racing. Nobody uses Gibson's LT for racing in the woods, they're strictly MX arms. I wonder why ?
  18. Yea I guess you could do that. just file off the "peaks" and don't file the "valleys" any deeper. I see what your sayin' about "slop in the clutch", but hell the grooves are allready there causing slop, don't make it worse by filing the valleys, just take off the "peaks" so your plates won't hang up. I think stock clutch baskets sell relativly cheap on Ebay. What brand clutch plates are you using ? Iv heard that stock Banshee clutches are pretty damn good and can handle the power of most mildly modded Banshees.
  19. Boon, first thing I though was "Is this a round carrier?" but then realized that the brake caliper plate is seperate from the carrier on the Honda style setup. So now im confused even more.
  20. Mines a Sears Craftsman 33 gallon vertical tank\6hp\150psi and my impact driver spins em off without breaking a sweat. I think my csfm is 8.4 at 50lbs and 6.4 at 90lbs...... those numbers are off the top of my head and could be inaccurate. RNBRAD, thats the model I own.
  21. they say aftermarket clutches will wear the basket quicker than stock plates would because the aftermarket plates are more abrasive. Someone makes a billet clutch basket that uses stainless steel inserts that cover and protect the 'ears'. Iv put grooves in my stock basket and my Hinson basket was starting to show signs of wear. Thats when I heard that Hinson recommends stock plates in thier baskets. Well I sold my Hinson basket long ago and im running the stock basket again, but if id buy another billet aftermarket basket, I'd like to try the one with the stainless steel protectors.
  22. Agreed. What the hell would make you be so mean and disrespectfull to someone ? I don't understand you at all Brooke. The comments you made towards that other girl are just out of line. I think the bhq has become too big, its becoming alot like the other ATV forums where the members bash each other, make rude and arrogant comments and scare others from posting. I guess im going to have to stop reading these theads and stick to the repairs and mods forum.
  23. They bolt right up to your rear hubs and then your rims bolt to the spacers. They widen the rear of your quad 4 inches and it simulates a 4 inch wider axle. You can't see em when they're mounted unless you look on the inner side of your rear rims. It will make the quad more stable, slides the ass end easier, makes the quad feel more secure at high speeds. Some say they will put too much stress on the axle, but I used em for 2 years and never bent my axle. I used a set on my Quadracer and never bent that axle either. Now if your a racer... you should look into a wider\stronger aftermarket axle, but if your a recreational rider, a dune rider or just do small jumps you should have no problems with axle bending with these installed. Keep in mind, I am a small guy\150lbs. You'll def notice the handling difference, no doubt.
