RS stators are notorious for being shit, but i dont wanna write that off straight away, you should test the stator by checking the resistance. find the stator plugs and disconnect it, look for the green and red wire (charging side) and ohms test them with a multi meter, should be 13.7-20.5 ohms. and check the white/red and white/green wire (thats the pickup ) and should be between 94-140 ohms. to test the coil, pull both leads off the plugs and both wires off the coil, and with a muti meter, test the two spade terminals on the coil (primary), should be .28-.38 ohms . and to test coil secondary, put one tester lead on a coil spade terminal and the other on the spark plug lead parallel to it, (check both sides) should be 4,700-7-1000 ohms. if the secondary doesnt work, pull the plug caps off the leads and try again. if you want to test your plugs caps, unscrew them from the coil leads and test both ends of the cap, should be no more than 5k ohms. i doubt your bike is making equal hp than tq, so if your bud with a dyno swears by that, hes wrong and prolly doesnt have a dyno, and god knows whats in your bike. what jets are in the carbs ? and what needles/clip position ?. do you know any one with a spare good stator or cdi ? have you inspected the reeds ? done leak down test ?

  3. was the bike ever running good when you had it ? what carbs is it running ? have you checked ignition resistances ? has anything changed to make it play up ?

  7. what does it matter ? did one of ya buds put a figure on one of their bikes ? throw it on a dyno, it could be running like ass and only making 13.6hp. the dyno could be wrong and you might make 100hp. dyno's are just as shit as people guessing hp. drag times dont lie tho.
  8. if its a yellow switch with a grey button it could be the vortex cdi, it has 10 settings and you can switch between stock or a modified one. the dyna is black with 2 dip switches and will be close to the cdi.
  9. i cant remember how much it was, pretty sure it was around 1k for everything, including shipping. I had hjr find me some cylinders, port them and send them back to me with the pistons and rebuild kit. so it will be around $250 less for you. if your still using a stock head, thats another $60 off ( as you dont need cool head domes) message Kevin at HJR, he will help you out. HJR is dam fast, and once he has your stuff, youll have it back within 2 weeks.

  12. no probs, at that time it was : hjr dune/play port. 20cc domes. t5 pipes and stock carbs. matched ported cases. and around 7 degrees ignition advance. i had the crank welded as a precaution too. the bike ripped and was real fun to dune and trail.
  13. so many people, including my self have used HJR, you wont have a problem, your bike will haul ass and be just as reliable as stock. youll wonder why you hadnt done it before and all of your buds will be jealous of your fast reliable bike HJR FTW !.

  17. depending on set ring gaps, but you can see from 10-20psi difference.

  22. no i wouldnt of thought so, the crank case and trans are split. if your loosing 2 in 6 you need to find where its leaking. make sure its not the gauge or fittings thats leaking. go around with soapy water.
  23. 2n1 carb setup, is loved by some and laughed at by others, personal preference on that one. ( 2 carbs will always flow better up top than a 2n1, the right sized and tuned dual carbs will run just as good as a single). i think the stock 14/41 gears is pretty good for an all round setup. dunno about the arrestors.
  24. i use a socket and press the seal in(oil the outside if the seal), then oil the bearing and press that in, till it stops.
