  1. I don't get this mod at all - seems like alot of work for nothing.
  2. I f-ed my back up at the dunes back in april and it took me 3 months to get back on my quad. I just had a compressed disk though, looked like a smashed pancake in the MRI. I still have to be careful with it but its mostly better now. My sister in law is only 38 and she has degenerative disk disease and has had back surgery 3 times on three different vertebrea and is only marginally better. If it is really degenerative disk then not riding your shee will be the least of your problems. I would definitley get several opinions and I would not have surgery unless there is just no other alternative. You might try a pain specialist they can do spinal injections of steriods and pain blockers directly on the vertabrea that can sometimes help and is less invasive. Sorry to hear about your situation but hopefully it wont be as bad as that first Doc said. Also there is no way that doc can know you have degenerative disk disease if he only took an x-ray. you need an MRI. Hold off awhile on selling the quad you might be surprised in 3-6 months you might be back in great shape again. Good luck!
  3. If the bottom end is still good its definitley worth it.
  4. I went through pretty much the same thing even put in carb rebuild kits and still leaked when sitting, finally got it to stop leaking when running at least. I just make it a habbit to always shut the fuel off when I kill it, I think this is a real common problem.
  5. I couldn't tell you the odometer on my shee is broke.
  6. ????????What??????????
  7. Mine sounds like santa clause coming down the road it rattles so bad, I put a large rubber band around the kick and through one of the frame holes and it works great. I don't even have to take it off to kick start it.
  8. I run Castor 927 @ 40:1 - 16oz to 5 Gallons or .473 liters to 18.9 liters
  9. Don't get a boost bottle, if your short on cash then get the K&N Pods. Thats about all thats left without spending cash on porting, heads, cranks, or other mods. You'll need to rejet also if you get pods.
  10. That price is absolutly insane.
  11. For me its a kidney belt cause I've got a bad back.
  12. no, and no
  13. I ride with a guy who has one and he loves it, A long travel kit is a must for those.
  14. If you welded a shock without draining all the fluid first you would probably kill yourself. It would explode like a bomb.
  15. It could use a few more stickers
  16. I think the 1,000 stands for It weighs 1,000lbs also on those machines.
  17. So what do you "guys" do with the hoses after the bottle is removed, just zip tie it to the frame?
  18. you have a banshee - you have a freind with a thunder cat - go race him and come back and tell us who won.
  19. I ride sand. I assume if you use Uni with an outerware that you still need to oil the filter. That sounds messy to me.
  20. This may have been covered before but I couldn't find it. Are the cheaper K&N knockoffs as good as real k&N. I'm talking about the PODS with the box removed in this case. I have stock carbs.
  21. Tree hugging democrats are way more likely to close riding areas and try to ban quads and impose more strict emmission laws, Democrats are the whole reason they don't make 2 strokes anymore.
  22. I'm still on stock pilot so that shouldn't be a problem. anyway took it on a good ride last night and I think I'm spot on now, did a plug chop and looks good and checked compression and I've got 135 in both cylinders, I'm ready to head to the dunes now.
  23. I bought a Banshee from a guy that needed a top end and when I tore into it he had an oversize piston in the left side and stock in the right. No wonder it needed rebuilt again. So you probably want to make sure that if you replace one side that they are the same brand of piston so they weigh the same IMO.
  24. You would make double you money easily on ebay, a running motor on ebay sells for $1,000. I know ,I had a rolling frame and was looking forever... Finally found a guy selling a complete banshee locally that needed a top end and got him down to $1,000. Sold my rolling frame for $700.00. Put $300.00 into my top end and I've got a new bike. I've sold 2 stock Banshee exhausts for $50.00 each plus shipping on ebay - I never would have thought someone would want a stock exhaust.
  25. Finally had time last night to adjust the needle, I rode it at lunch today and could imediatatly notice a difference. Going riding tonight also. Thanks for the help.
